Test Flights Expected by End of 2024.
Battery life, battery life, battery life. The bane of all things electric. This vehicle is the next greatest thing, and will always be until duration is solved. Beautiful craft....
Yeah for me I think our current battery technology (Lithium) just isn't up to snuff for me and until we come up with a lot better battery tech I wont be buying an EV vehicle and will just stick with hybrid tech for now ..... Oh and by the way I love my 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid LE AWD it's just a fantastic car.
You only need about an hour's worth of battery life. This is a vehicle for local travel / commuting, not long distance travel. We have that now.
Also, a little combustion engine with a generator can provide the power for steady fight. Turning these hybrid is always an option.
Battery life is not an issue for vtol aircraft people make the automobile comparison all the time as its their only reference, but they all forget that vehicles coupe with not only a variable high degree of drag, but also drag from other vehicles, and the most major factor the contact with tires on the road. so their is in fact a heck of a lot more 'range' that comes from current batteries in an aeronautic format. But it also depends heavily on the aircrafts propulsion and efficiency. ANd needless to say batteries are always improving. new milestones in battery tech is already getting certification, batteries with near double the capacity , safer (solid state) and lighter.
Hybrid hybrid, the future is hybrid.
lol the virtual steve jobs theater is hilarious
Even if it doesn't fly as intended, the design is so magnificent that it will come in handy in Hollywood😀
This is a beautiful design. I’ve seen other flying car concepts, but they don’t look like this. This design is novel, And I really like the protected propellers that are within a blended wing. It’s a great safety feature !
Not when it's falling out of the sky, with no ability to glide to safety.
@@skateboardingjesus4006 if you listened to the presentation, there is a built in escape system or weren’t you paying attention?
@@stardude2006 I did listen to the presentation, or do you just like jumping to baseless conclusions? It uses a ballistic parachute, which will easily drop you on top of a building, a busy street, or any number of undesirable locations, with no means of control. These things should not be in the skies above built-up areas.
That looks fantastic and plenty of good mounting points for lasers...Pew Pew!
Looks good! As long as Doroni Aerospace continues to deliver on its promises, I will always keep coming back for more! :)
What has it actually delivered? Anything?!!!
I personally love the 10 minute flight time.
That is absolutely BAD ASS! After the payload and range problems have been solved this could very well be a true revolution.
The planned specifications and performance shown at 3:55 are interesting. First, they're in pounds and miles per hour, so this is a presentation for the general public in the USA... not for anyone anywhere else, or for any technical audience anywhere. They don't explicitly claim that it will be able to fly at 120 MPH while carrying a payload of 500 pounds for 40 minutes, but that's what many people will assume. Much more likely, if it is ever built and if it achieves the planned performance, it might be able to · fly at 120 MPH... but not for as long as 40 minutes, and only while carrying zero payload (autonomously or remotely piloted) · carry a payload of 500 pounds... but not for as long as 40 minutes, and not as fast as 120 MPH · fly for 40 minutes... but more slowly than 120 MPH, and only while carrying zero payload. Welcome to the reality of aircraft performance, and of battery-electric propulsion. If you look at the Doroni website, you'll see that it claims a 60-mile range... perhaps with payload? Maybe they just didn't edit that number from the claims for the earlier H1 design? Even on the website, there are no real specifications: battery type and capacity, motor power, rotor areas, wing area...
Battery tech getting way better 2X and cheeper 1/2 coming soon to some EVs - youtube videos on the topic now by major battery manufactures ramping up production NOW.
Beautiful , sleek design, elegant looking H!-X model. Go Doronin Go
There is so much regulation for the FAA you think the average person is going to be flying these things through populated areas. Nope
Yes. With the proper license and training. Private/hobby pilots fly over populated areas already.
@@Miniscapes515 When I say flying over populated areas I mean under the FAA regulated 1000ft above the ground over congested populated areas. That means you cannot land this thing in a neighborhood, your home, in a field close to your home, on your roof, or on a street. You also cannot fly this into certain types of controlled airspace near airports and military areas with high volumes of traffic from civil, commercial, or military aircraft.
RIGHT
Things like that generally are meant to be automatic.
Thank God for regulation from the FAA. Imagine the same amount of stupid drivers also flying... Flying is for responsible people only.
I can't wait for them to release the Doroni H1-X Pro Max
that one will use the nuclear battery that China just announced with 50 years of power without need of recharge
I was analyzing the Jetson One and was wondering, even though the design is beautiful, that flight is very taxing on power without lift. So this design hits it out of the park by having lift. Lift gives a longer range and also a faster speed. But I also think battery power is not there yet. I think we can benefit from two small, lightweight 80-100 hp engines. I do like the way this is going.
Awesome..Im a vision jet owner pilot so I truly love and understand safety. Im so impressed. Even a parachute. Bravo..!!! Im super encouraged by your innovation. Please keep it coming. Can’t wait to see it. You represent the future that we so need.
Finally, an optimistic and positive comment.
@@rogerhargreaves2272with a fight time of 40 minutes? Wahwahwah...
@@newolde1 Yea, the propulsion system needs improvement.
Congrats for describing what a real pilot sees in it. This craft will become amazing when improved solid state batteries become available.
Why are they in the Apple headquarters?
Maybe they should make a hybrid version that runs on electric/petrol or hydrogen to extend flying time and distance.
20 years back, I built a $14k AUD Ultralight that could take off and land in mere meters, good cruise, was fun and efficient.
And could probably fly for more than half an hour I reckon.
And you never made a business of it ...
"So simple a 4yr old could operate it" That's very encouraging !! Considering most of the um, 'terrestrial pilots' I encounter already drive like a 4 year old my future commute promises to be Much More engaging 😁 I'll take one !!
You guys have taken care of every problem i had with jetson craft. Looking forward to this.
Have any problems with Horizon's? Or are you speaking purely about fully electric and not hybrids
Pretty wild So you guys did the presentation at Apple Park lol
Lol
Simply put, the coolest looking E VTOL will win.
Yes. Because they all have basically the exact same flight times.
I am not interested in flying cars, but as a pilot I can see this is a very cool design. You are not the first to combine traditional aeronautical dynamics with electric propulsion, but this looks like a compelling proposition. It is a long, long way from prototyping to production, and I wish you all the best. 👍👍
Very compelling for rural areas with little access of roads
Beautiful Craft! May your success be all that is Rightfully Earned! and it Definitely IS ! 🌐🕊️2024🏆
There is a lot to admire with the well thought out design of the Doroni H1-X. I hope to be able to own one soon.
Loving the design and can’t wait to see some flight testing! ❤😍🙏🤞🤘👏
So cool! I can't wait to see one of these in action.
Good luck!! We need this!! Can’t wait to see it in the skies!!
How about avionics package info? Projected pricing? Also need a longer flight time.
I used to dream about this when I was a kid. Now it's on the verge of becoming reality. Good luck to you, hope you get these craft in the market soon.
Congrats! nice Team!. A wise aviator once said: If it looks good, it flies well! And that aircraft has the sexiest design I've seen in a long time. Better batteries will come eventually, but 40 minutes at 120mph is enough for personal transportation. I would buy it!
Any real footage of it actually flying in the air ? What is the projected consumer price ?
This machine is designed for mega millionaires and governments. In a hundred years they'll still be out of the reach of the average schmuck.🛸
I can’t wait to see one to consider ordering one for my remote properties.
Wow looks pretty and fantastic model
This might actually be the first practically flying car I’ve seen. If it is as easy to use as they make it out to be then I could definitely see it being mass adopted.
What makes this a "car"? It's simply an aircraft.
@@brianb-p6586 Technically yes. But it’s size and dimensions make it about as close to a car as an aircraft has come imo. The ease of use especially, if true, would be incredible. I imagine you wouldn’t need an FAA license for this thing or if you did it would be incredibly easy to get. A few hours learning and you could fly it. Until someone invents anti-gravity technology this technology is as close to “flying cars” or “air-cars” as we are likely to get.
@rainbowsixODST in other words, not a car at all, just a potentially convenient small aircraft. Just like any helicopter with automation... and you may have noticed that they're not in every backyard.
I wouldn't like to try and guess what it will cost ! @@brianb-p6586
@@brianb-p6586 And your point? Why watch the video are comment if you are going to be so negative about the product?
Really nice... The fact they have a deployable chute is great... However the 40 minute flight time is not desirable.. Limits when using batteries... Now if it was 1.5 to 2 hours.. SOLD!!!
I want 8 hrs and 300 mph!
How would it react if it loses one engine? What's its flight distance? Could it be designed with a diesel over electric power to increase distance? It would be great to have something as easy to use like this but could compare to the flight time of an ultralight or Cessna.
Wow - better than a Maserati!! I’d like two please !!
I hope it is better built with less maintance and price of a Maserati.
@@HDnatureTV very doubtful
The H1-X is awesome! Excellent work on the shrouded wing fan design - this is much more practical for everyday use. 2 seats is great. 120mph top speed is pretty respectable. 40 mile range isn't bad - hopefully that can be improved with future battery tech.
If he can pull this off, this guy's got a winner. Game-changer.
Looks very sleek and functional because of the wings. I support this
This aerial craft has been beautifully and thoughtfully designed. It only remains to be seen whether you need a pilots licence to fly it, where and when you will be allowed to fly it, and how much it will cost you to buy it. Good luck with the venture!
Yeah, even if I could afford one, it might take years to certify it for flight in my jurisdiction, which is Canada.
Do you have an actual video of it flying?
What happens if someone goes inadvertent IMC, can it fly an a GPS or ILS approach? What airspace will it be allowed to operate in? What will the licensing requirements be?
I will believe it when I see it.
Cool! That seems to be totally the right way to go!
BTW, I can see a military application as well wherein that 500lb payload capacity opens up many such possibilities vs say a Jetson one with both limited range and payload. Thus if one allocates 250lbs for the human that leaves 250lbs to carry other stuff such as missiles and sensors or an unmanned version to carry 500lbs worth or extra batteries for extended range.
And one advantage of going the military's route is one might as such be able to sidestep some of the regulatory hurdles where say one sells these to Ukraine or Taiwan where they might waive some of those that one could never do in regard to the commercial route. This in turn could give much more flight actual flight data that then could perhaps shorten the time to get this to the commercial market as well... not to mention could possibly contribute to the defense of those countries as well of opening up additional military markets too!
BTW, one crazy option might be to use a gyrocopter wing verses the fixed wings. Thus one could have more lift and also use the lift rotors (and thus maybe one can get a bit more range) as well as avoiding risks that currently face gyrocopter operation such as push over in that the lift rotors could then recover form that, plus the parachute can be employed as well. Maybe this is a really dumb idea but maybe it is at least mentioning here just in case it might not be quite so dumb of one and might have some application somewhere.
The use of an A-10 Warthog flight stick is most certainly an interesting choice
One of the best design so far
I would love to get that craft a test flight. I really like the idea of the parachute for emergencies. I don’t know if it was just me, but I kept expecting Tim Cook to come out an speak for a few seconds.
Its going to need some kind of super battery.
Exactly .... Something better than the current crap Lithium batteries we have today.
I'm curious, how well does the H1-X handle high winds, especially at take off?
Like any other aircraft. Depends in the wind. Cruising speed is 120 mph and it is VSTOL, so similar to a helicopter with the same cruising speed. Another way, is look around if the birds aren’t flying do what they do.
The wind will slow it down, but the fans will compensate to keep it stable..... Walmart sells a drone that does this.... I know for sure
Thank you video brilliant compliment.
Nice presentation. 3D animations are great. And I see that you have a real life machine / test-mule too. Which is the proof in the pudding.
The marketing guy is talking like a tech executive!
So the plan is for me to land this thing near a Tesla supercharger then (assume supercharger has wait times) "push it" to the parking space and plug it in? What's the charging rate 250kw?
It has fans for thrust, why would you push it? It should be able to roll at low speeds, like any aircraft on a taxiway
Curious, are birds or any floating objects like balloons a concern during flight? I would assume the monitoring system accounts for these things so the propellers aren't compromised. But sometimes birds can be erratic and it makes me wonder if they could catch the system off guard. Overall the vehicle is beautiful and I look forward to seeing the test flights later this year!
Flying car design is very beautiful
I love the idea of these kinds of vehicles, getting rid of roads and escaping ground traffic by flying through the air. Until everyone has one and you're fighting traffic in the air in a craft with a 40 minute flight time. Oh and no place convenient to land. These will make neat toys for rich kids to play with, but until we have a proper Highway In The Sky infrastructure and endurance goes _way_ up, that is all they will be.
This will be a real company when you have built at least a thousand. Great design.
Or, you know, even one! (and CGI models don't count)
I'm curious about flight ceiling and GPS/Autopilot, and excellent idea to include the ballistic chute! Oh, and proposed cost$$$
Good presentation of not yet ready device for air transportation ;)). Anyway, looks nice. I just have a doubt about its width awareness of hard-time for pioneers in terms of regulation.
Thanks for sharing the idea I am curious to see the actual machine.
What expectations are there for performance in the rain?
Best design I've ever seen
Looks good, but can you build it ?
Ok this design rocks and passes for a flying car. Unlike those with wingspans like airplane but still claiming flying car.
Wow supper excited of what is to come
This is all really smart!
Have you tested how it responds to balloons or bird strikes?
Which EV charging standard? I hope it would be the NACS.
When I see all these vehicles these days I'm at a loss how NONE OF THEM give MOLAR His due mention as He is the man who made all these ideas possible..They all stand on HIS shoulders..
Moller
When can I buy one?
Exciting!
H1X ….Woah! This Is Hot!!
Additionally, I just want to add that there are so many new possibilities of flying cars coming out, and this model is one of the best looking, most desirable and intuitive designs that may draw in the masses. I think you’ve got a good start here the best We will be following you.
Beautiful concept! Could you make a tiny rc model to sell to make money for your continued development?
Great idea! I think they would sell thousands of RC drones, just add a camera.
Fly time not so long and longevity trip is highly important
Ducted Fan is a Winner in my book.👍🏼👍🏼🍀
So nice of Tim Apple to lend them their space
I love you people. Way to go! 👏
Could you teach anyone of your KZhead fans to fly this 😮 I wish I had an opportunity like this it's amazing I love it so much
Is this what the original H1 turned into? Have you changed the design or will the first H1 be released too?
Neither is likely to ever be released. The current website features only the H1-X; the original H1 is presumably dead.
Did you see the first H1 in the video?! LOL - it is simply and ugly test subject like most of NASA's failed X programs. Think SpaceX - try and improve through multiple issues quickly.
Impressive 🤩
Been waiting for some manufacturers to make rc quadcopter/with wings
This is going to be amazing in one hundred years
2:12: Oh, yeah! Now we’re cooking!
He's standing on his tippy toes!
The three-wing configuration is interesting. None of the wings are efficient (because of the low aspect ratio), but there are lots of them and one without ducted fans attached is between the fans to minimize airflow interference.
The Red Barron did pretty well with 3 wings. ;-)
40 minutes of fligh time? Make me a believer...Let's see it fly.
Awesome 👍👏😃absolutely awesome
What happens if you lose power in air? (Need to wear parachute
Did you even watch the video? It can glide on wings. So, if you have a place to land, do so. 2- It also carries a ballistic parachute. In case of emergency hit a button, the rocket pulls out the parachute and you float to landing. Just like Cirrus aircraft. They work well. They estimate peice being about $135,000. Cheap enough to be affordable. It can work your commute is less than 80 miles each way.
Where do you dispose dead batteries? How are they disposed?
Nicest design I have seen online. Lets hope it works like it looks! Nice if the range could get to a couple hundred miles.
40 minutes 😂😂😂 . Love how the breezed right by that flight time . 😊
So 40 minutes of flight time is maybe good for a range of 75 miles at best before you need to recharge? Since you won’t be able to fly at 120mph the whole flight 🥲
what happens if you lose 1 blade....can you fly on only 3????
They laughed at me when I said I'm waiting with my driver license untill there are flying cars. Well who's laughing now Grandpa?
Why are there no solar panels in the wings? Also, while the design is unique, Orb Aerospace is also doing stub wings and thrust engines to reduce in-flight power usage.
Solar in the wings will not give much energy.
Why not have the ducted fans in the wing be able to pivot forward by up to 90° to transition into forward flight, thus obviating the need for the extra weight and expense of the pusher fans?
... that adds more complexity and weight, because you now you have to engineer a stronger wing with more moving parts, which Will Increase the Price of the H1-X
Congratulations you all certifiably kick butt exclamation point now only if this voice recognition software could work as well as your new vertical takeoff and Landing craft congratulations she is breathtaking the future is looking brighter
How much ?
