World Edit Commands That You NEED To Know!

In this video, I go through the world edit commands that I think are the most useful to know and that I use the most!
If you are a Minecraft builder and you don't use world edit, you need to because it will save you a lot of time
most of your favourite KZheadrs who do building (Grian , TrixyBloxs , Pearlescentmoon , etc) probably use world edit a whole lot.
I hope you find this video helpful, Enjoy :P

    • you could use a sphere brush (//brush sphere oak_leaves[persistent=true] 5) and then use an air mask (/mask air) while holding the brush. If you want the leaves to have some air spaces between you could use (//brush sphere 90%oak_leaves[persistent=true],10%air 5)

  • Would u have a fix for when u do the pink concrete build- there’s always holes to the void appearing idk how to fix it

    @SugarSweetTears@SugarSweetTears10 ай бұрын
    • are you using this in a superflat world? if you are then using a pink concrete powder sphere brush will be replacing all the layers below it with concrete powder including the bedrock and then falling through into the void. There is a simple fix to this - you need to use "/mask air" while holding the brush and that will only allow air to be replaced which will stop it from replacing the bedrock and falling through. I hope this helped! If you're not in a superflat world and this solution doesn't work there is probably still a simple fix - what circumstances is this happening in?

    @fireball_goat31@fireball_goat317 ай бұрын

    @TurtleMan023@TurtleMan0235 ай бұрын
  • When I use the schem copy pasting it works fine IF I stay in the same world. The moment I go into another save file, it doesn't work at all. It says it's loaded the schem, and it does paste, but it's just a random few blocks of dirt, rather than the house I made. If I load the schem in the world I copied it from, and paste, it pastes the whole house perfectly. Any ideas why?

    @JonTopping@JonTopping11 ай бұрын
    • to paste things between worlds you need to do the following 1. select your area 2.//copy 3.//schem save Putthenameofthebuildhere 4.go into different world 5.//schem load Putthenameofthebuildhere 6.//paste if you've already made a schematic with the name you called it, you need to do add a -f on the end to overwrite the previous version like this: //schem save name -f other than that I'm not sure why it would only be pasting some random blocks, what version are you using this in?

      @PixelKing_@PixelKing_10 ай бұрын
    • @@PixelKing_ Yeah that's exactly what I'm doing, weird. I'm doing 1.12.2. I do have other mods, and I would understand if it didn't work with mod blocks, but it totally pastes the mod blocks fine in the same world. And, in the new world, it's not just modded blocks that it's messing up, it's everything. Like even the sandstone isn't copying over.

      @JonTopping@JonTopping10 ай бұрын
    • @@JonTopping hmm that is strange -could be that the command doesn't really work in the 1.12 version or maybe it is conflicting with some other mod that is interfering with how it takes schematics between worlds.. I only very briefly used the 1.12 version of world edit (when I started playing Java) so I can't remember much about that version.. You could try using another mod to copy over between worlds - like Litematica (although I also can't remember if that existed back then)

  • is there something i can use simliar to the brush but it instead like acts like a terraformer and destroys blocks to expand caves more easier

    @Dempsity115@Dempsity115Ай бұрын
    • You could use //brush sphere to carve out a general shape for a cave but usually when I am terraforming with a cave I flip the build upside down and use the pink concrete brush to detail the roof then set it to stone and flip it back the right way. If you watch carefully at 3:36 in this: kzhead.info/sun/YNmthcire3V_mY0/bejne.htmlfeature=shared&t=216 Video I use the pink concrete powder brush to terraform both sides of this mountain, then I flip one of them upside down and paste them together - you can do the same thing with the inside and roofs of caves

As far as I know, the worldedit fill command (//fill) just fills pits under you with the block you choose, in opposition to the vanilla fill command (/fill) that does replace blocks in a selection, but you have to enter the coordinates manually.

  • setting top layer, you don't actually say/show what the command is.

    @Mowgi@Mowgi10 ай бұрын
    • I think you are referring to the brush that only replaces the top layer - I do say what it is in the video at 3:13 - "//brush paint"- it will only paint the top layer of blocks. However if you wanted to know how to set only the top layer of blocks using the //set or //replace commands - that is a little more complex: your best bet is using "/gmask #exposed" which will only allow every command and brush in the world to replace blocks that are in contact with air - so then the //set and //replace commands would only replace the surface blocks (but also any in caves etc below the surface) This is a bit inconvenient at times so I would generally use //brush paint (which I explain in the video at 3:13 ). If you are trying to replace the surface layer of a very large area you can also use //cyl (big number) (gravity block like sand) high up in the sky and the gravity block will fall down creating a top layer over the landscape which you can then use the //replace or //replacenear commands to set to the surface layer block you want! hope this helped! :)
