The Invicta was my pick too. Congrats to all the builders for making it to the best of the best.
A very unique and daring build too. No industry support and no catalogs.
@@warrenlewis3977and nine years
Loved the vehicle walkarounds - nice work. The Invicta was on a different level from every other entry, but I enjoyed them all. Thanks!
My favourite was the '69 Mustang but I would have voted for the Buick as well. Nine years in the making, the final result was just simply stunning. The Buick builders managed to retain the styling cues of both its original exterior & interior, while upgrading the materials the highest level. Even the Nailhead was retained, which is just so Buick. It was an homage to influence that Chuck Jordan had on the entire '59 GM full sized line-up, which was a radical change from the one year only bulky '58 GM offerings. Nice work all 'round.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE BUILDERS AND TEAMS!!!
LOVE how the Invicta builder chose to retain the very unique and original equipment instrument panel mirror setup. While Buick only used this for a couple years (1960-1961 I believe) it's pretty awesome. The actual speedometer & associated gauges are printed in reverse and sit facing the front of the vehicle, below the driver's line of sight. A rectangular mirror that rotates several degrees is placed where the gauges would normally sit. This allows the driver to adjust the mirror angle based on their height and optimal viewing angle, using a thumb wheel that is just to the right of the mirror. If you've never seen this, I recommend you seek one of these out at your next car show that has any of the early 60's Buicks.
Yeah..My father had a 61 Le Sabre...401,, We Drove From Boston to Pompano Beach Florida, 4 Times...Then, he Bought a 67 Le Sabre,... Always Buick.. Tough Cars..
That C10. Was built for after show use. That's proper thinking and design
Congratulations Cal Automotive Creations! They have FINALLY SHOWED THE BUICK SOME LOVE!!!!!🛡️🛡️🛡️
The Invicta was just stunning, 9 years in the making, how much money was spent is the question. The Goolsby Mustang was just stunning in my view, and he kept it Ford with a super charged Coyote engine, paint fit and finish were flawless.
Hundreds of thousands
KInda thought it was gonna be the Invicta, but that XR4TI is SIIICK
Thanks for the post! Some real gems 💎
6:25 XR4Ti was incredible. My only complaint is it’s not AWD.
And it's has a Ford engine and not a Cosworth engine
Absolutely. All the vehicles in the run up were awesome, and there were a couple that stood out, but that Buick was just a step above everything else!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank You for this Eye candy. What beautiful work is shown here.
great camera work and clean commentary, and then to show the ceremony at the end. perfectly done.
I'll second that.
As usual, all of these cars are gorgeous. But count me.a HUGE fan of Goolsby's. It seems if that team breaths on a car it becomes beautiful, and this year's Mustang is no different.
ugh - ruined it with the chrome on that thing - the extra pewter detail was so good I wish they would've done every trim piece in the pewter.
This is a contest of skill ingenuity dreams desire and money..it shows the world how amazingly creative an automobile can be...
The Merkur hatchback is the cat's pajamas! What an odd choice of car to build, but turned out awesome. I'd bet that you won't see another one at SEMA.
Thanks This the Great Video & Channel ! From Finland !
Love the 1953 F-100 color, to me it's the best looking vehicle!
Johnathan Goolsby is so talented and a awesome builder so cool to know i can go about 15 minutes down the road and get a totally custom car built from the frame up ! And he doesn't do just Hotrods hes done a badass Orange 90s CRX in the early 2000s and it won a bunch of shows and was featured in Super Street magazine or Import Tuner magazine one or the other I cant remember which one tho ! It had a totally custom dash and stereo in the rear hatch it was a real head turner !
😊aa😊😊😊
Invicta was stunning, But the 1968 Wagoneer was my favorite! Perfectly executed and tasteful...
6:29 In UK we called this a Suerra. Hard pressed to find one still on the road in any variant. Nice tho.
It’s amazing how builders create and follow trends. The industry sure has matured since the 1960s
Loved the "Dip Your POS" background muzak.
100% the correct decision. That car is wild and looks like it was made in the 60's. It is is no such thing. Great art is a masterpiece.
Great content and presentation. 🇦🇺 😊
Right off the bat, the Camaro is freaking Amaze-Balls.
Excellent walk around. A very well-paced narration. Use of a polarizer could have had helped eliminate reflection. Thank you.
A worthy winner!!
The right car definitely won. Unbelievable job
GOOD CHOICE , THE BUICK WAS BY FAR THE BEST THERE
Did I hear right that everything was hand made?, Every body panel is pretty amazing for that beautiful Invicta, that got my vote, also liked the International for coolness
A TOTALLY AWSOME VIDEO AND A LOT OF TOTALLY AWSOME BUILDS!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!
The Buick was my fav! That color/paint job just pops!
A MUST WATCH VIDEO!!!!
The Buick 60 and the 1969 Chevy C-10 was outstanding
The Invicta is stunning! '60 Buicks were some elegant, beautiful cars. I owned a '60 LaSabre, white on red...back in '87.
XR4Ti
My vote goes to the Buick Invicta
NICE !
Invicta is my choice! Quite the competition! Thanks for the terrific coverage, Rob.
Without a doubt!
Nice👍
Obrigado por esse vídeo maravilhoso
It's the car I picked as the winner when watching the video. Well done guys! What an incredibly beautiful build! 🙌🙌🙌
The 60 Buick, hands down!
The Sierra Cosworth is just Beautiful, the paint looks incredible 😍
The Invicta is amazing, beautiful paint job.
nice cars, I liked the 2 jeeps. Especially the blue one. would totally have that one.
Awesome that they were all old school cars and jeeps 🎉
The sidetrim on the first Camaro was revolting !
Good job on the video man!
Thank you very much!
OMG I’m so happy the Buick won! That car is so pretty it hurts.
I hope the Invicta will spark some interest in big body GM cars...Buick Electra 225, Olds 98's, etc.
The Buick is a work of art, unbelievable, in a different league, compared to the rest
I liked the Mustang, but that Invicta was dope
They’re all so beautiful. The paint on all of them is amazing. My vote also would have been the Buick.
That Buick is fire 🔥
Yep. the Buford was my winner, too.
Good choice by the judges. The Buick was by far my favorite although there were a few other good entries as well. The one I couldn't understand being in the final twelve was that awful green Ford F100. Was the person who picked the interior colors for that truck color blind?! Blech! Two thumbs way down on that entry but those who voted for that gorgeous and classy Buick got it 100% right. Hats off to them,
yes that interior was painful to view, especially those horrid seats
I chose the Invicta too. I was hoping it would be the winner.
I LOVE BATTLE OF THE BUILDERS!!!!
The C10 is nice. That lime green on the '53 F100 is just a crime. The other two of interest are the 911 and XR4Ti. Not even a little interested in that off green buick.
My grandfather would be so proud .
ford sierra for me,they are all stunning cars
Limit the builds to 60k keep the Corps limited also
That Buick🤌👍🙏
Here’s a thought, how about the builders take the car on a 500 mile road trip? I bet most wouldn’t make it, because it’s about show, not go.
Buick! No contest!
I’d rather they have to build these in one year between events. Something more people can relate to.
I want to know the costs of all these builds.
Over $100,000, I would imagine.
That lime green Ford truck is NOT a 1953.. The Sanford and Son truck was a '53...
Yes it is , it has a 1954.5 deluxe grill
OOHH a big time custom shop wins again. Shocking!
WOW!!!! RETRO IS HOT IN 2023!!!!
Every car built by kendig is better than anything I've seen here
Invicta
Not sure on the merc with a ford engine...german engine would be the crown jewel
If it wasn’t for us poor old guys with a project car the SEMA show wouldn’t exist….. The money invested in some these car relegate them to the exotic car category.
That Camaro’s interior was ridiculous… all white? I don’t want a car I can’t drive, but then again, I can’t afford any of these cars.
very nice but what are they good for other than showing off the builders skill? I guess that's the point but cars are meant to be driven and you can't drive these.
Everything is just so overdone and over the top, and it's all sponsored and paid for by this or that company. I'd rather just see what some poor guy down the street is doing with his old project car, but then again i'm just a poor guy with a project car.
This show is all about the highest level of car building with an open checkbook. What you are describing is more of the GoodGuys show, which we also cover.
THIS IS FOR THE OVERDONE..YOU SOUND JEALOUS AND BITTER
No. Goodguys is retirees with $50k-$150k rides. What Barnaby Jones is referring to is his local cruise-in night. @@generationhighoutput
I agree with you 100% and I am that poor guy down the street that has been reimagining my 57 for almost 50-years. Now that I'm 70, it's in its last revision that I may have at SEMA next year.
THERES SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE.
The right car won.
Jordan Henke was robbed... 🙁 JK'n, but not really. His RS4-Ti was the best, followed closely by the Porsche. 💯
Very disappointing vehicle bullds, The Buick invicta is a very nice build though, glad it won.
All it took to win was be a finned classic lol
To be so different, they sure are all the same.
Merkur? Pfft, that's a Sierra :)
These are all trolley dolly's. Unrealistic, ridiculously expensive to the point of no fun could be had using it. Pure muppetry.
🤷 Promo`SM
9 years of wasted money/time on the buick.
Merkur even worse...
No personality on the host. Couldn't watch at all. Yawwwwwn
Im just glad the chevy trucks didnt win! 😂🎉
I would expect nothing but GM motors in these pavement crawlers. F junk.
XR4TI is 🔥
All turds except for the Buick. Green truck nice but all done before.
