He's implying that Taika's Jewish ties got him a leg-up in the industry, which doesn't even make sense considering his mother was a schoolteacher. Weird that he says it like some sort of "gotcha" though when Taika himself is very open about his Polynesian-Jewish ancestry

  • The first Taika Waititi film I saw was "Hunt For The Wilderpeople" (2016) and it was such a quirky, energetic, yet heart-touching film. I've noticed a lot of his films since then are like that: action-based, but ultimately sweet.

    • the big chest bird (also the logo of his production company) and the rings around his upper arm are two very visible ones ! The rings I was genuinely wondering about when I watched OFMD for the first time, because the snakey tattoo overlaps it quite clearly, and the blocky lines are not really in the same vibe as the rest of the tattoos on Ed's arms !
