  • What we do in the shadows is comedy gold. It reminds me of the comedy genius of Mel Brooks, the dialogue, the timing, the expressions, every detail just adds to the joke. The future of comedy is in good hands with Waititi.

  • If you liked Jojo Rabbit i seriously think you should consider watching his film Hunt For the Wilderpeople. It's truly one of his best films imo with the right amount of taika waititi campy humor along with the endearing troubles of growing up an unwanted child trying to hold on to the glimpses of happiness one experiences

  • 1:57 KORG reminded me of a Polynesian bouncer before Taika said it. How many times in the early 2000's some man-mountain kicked my half-conscious foot sitting in a bean-bag at a rave and said "Ey bru! You don't have to leave, but you can't sleep here!" while handing me mashed self an unopened bottle of water for free. Salt of the earth, those guys.

  • If you haven't seen our flag means death, do what you can to watch it! Funny, heartfelt, great character study on what in means to be fighting against any societal norms. Just got picked up for season 2! Also Jo Jo Rabbit is a must, don't go in with any preconceived ideas. It's an incredible story too!

  • I had never heard of Taika til 3 weeks ago when I clicked on Our Flag Means Death and now I notice him everywhere. I haven't fan girled this hard since The X Files in Highschool. Sets, cast, props, lighting, costumes, fandom, writing, everything about it is perfection. One of the best shows I've ever seen. HBO needs to just go ahead and throw a few more seasons in there at least. It's one to be proud of

I met Taika because of Thor: Ragnarok but I fell in love with the artist he is because of Our Flag Means Death, and since then I've been watching all of the things he did and his interviews. Recently I watched Boy and it was a fantastic experience. It's been a fun and inspirational journey, I can't wait for Taika's future projects! ❤️😊

  • When I first watched what we do in the shadows back in 2015 it completely changed the way I viewed film. It was hilarious, witty, silly yet it had so much heart. I then watched Boy and it was that what solidified to me that I want to be a director. So thanks Taika for inspiring that 13 year old girl back in 2015.

  • Takia Waititi is by far one of my favorite directors and I just love his accent and every charecter he plays. korg is by far one of my favorite characters in all of the MCU. What we do in the shadows is the first movie I realized how much I adored what Takia Waitit and Jermaine Clement can do and both their accents. Side note Hunt For the Wilderpeople is such an under appreciated film.

  • Stu in What We Do in the Shadows is the best. The genius of the character is the actor* just kind of stands there, but everyone around him reacts so positively towards him. (*He’s not an actor. He’s just a tech guy Waititi wanted around on camera. The guy had no idea he’d be in the movie so much or be such a pivotal character!)

    • That's actually a big problem. In Ragnarok the whole end of Asgard is played as a joke, and in L&T the whole first half is Thor being so stupid he's almost special needs.

  • Taika is a gift and I absolutely adore him and his films. Jojo and Wilderpeople are literal classics. He has two of the best Marvel movies ever (Love and Thunder was that good, to me), and he's getting a Star Wars. I'm just so thankful he exists.
