Alfa Romeo is expanding its model range with a new compact crossover called Junior (previously launched as the Milano), which will be sold in hybrid and a fully electric guises. The Junior is the third SUV-styled model in the Alfa range, slotting in beneath the Tonale and Stelvio.

I can appreciate the fact that they didn’t just glue a huge tablet to the dash. It’s much better integrated, and flows. Similar to Giulia dash.

I understand some people might hate this car and say that it's not an Alfa, but these are the cars that sell volumes and give Alfa the budget to make sports cars that we really want. Personally, I'm starting to like the design more, the interior looks good, minus the center part where the gear selector is, it looks like it's lifted out of a Peugeot or Citroen. I mean all the attention they put into the interior to make it look unique, with the telescope cluster, ambient lighting in the air vents etc. they could've had the drive mode selector say "dna" not just "Drive Mode" which is disappointing.

This car would have looked much nicer if the exterior designed put the pencil down a few hours earlier.
The front is ghastly
First of all thx for the one of the first and well done review. There are quite mixed feedbacks among Alfisti but this was the case for many previous Alfa’s which still became iconic. I myself dont rush to conclusions until I drove one. Sure I think the front is too busy ,a cleaner front with Tonale style headlamps without the C shape would work MUCH better IMO without becomjng a baby Tonale , the new Scudetto is brave but needs further refinement, the back reminds me of KIA EV 6 but there are many details that I love. The overall impression is an elegant but dynamic car, I instantly fell in love with theairvents, the Biscione on the C pillar, the modern classic rims, the seats, the coda tronca from the side reminds me of the Stradale, the side look is harmonic and there are a lot of angles from which the car looks great. I appreciate that Alfa didnt jump on the linear edge bandwagon., I am certain that these cars will age much nicer than the new hype ones. If the stellantis drivetrain and the suspension will not be disappointing than I will put it on my shortlist when we replace our citycar…

Absolutely love it! I'm a life long fan of Italian cars, and this is stunning. Genuinely considering putting my money where my mouth is (I've owned 6 Alfa) , and ordering one when they arrive in Ireland. Only thing that might hold me back is the lack of a dealer network, i live in the midlands & we have nothing close to us. Bravo Alfa though, Milano hopefully will be a success.

Yep and that too is the very reason just a week after it was revealed that it has had its name changed from Milano to wait for it too Junior. Yes I am not kidding. It will now be called the Alfa Romeo Junior.

Looks great but price? 20 inch wheels is crazy in this segment. I heard it will come with 25mm lowered suspension, torsen differential on rear axis and 380mm front brake disc.
My 10 year old Giuletta still looks great looking forward to to trying this out
I thought for sure the wheels would be a classic 5 hole design, not 4!
The gas ones have 3 holes, so take what you can get, I guess.
I miss several cars the open panoramic roof. Does the Milano have that on option?

Yes, but it is an option if you go to the Italian alfa romeo Configurator you can spec this car the way you want it and be able to see all the options and packages.

Like the exterior and think the interior is a real step forward, but a 1.2 litre mild hybrid with 130 bhp as the ICE option is incredibly disappointing- expect this to be overpriced and sell as well as the Tonale - unfortunately Alfa is dying

Interesting video. Wonder with these big groups is there actually an Alfa subsidiary with a design team or is there a Stellantis design team who are just told “today design some Alfa cues onto our generic SUV”?

It is a beautiful car to look at. However, I am not a big fan of having a logo batch on the car's bonnet which definitely would attract some naughty people to steal it. Rear seat still looks a bit tight for 2 big adults. What about rear armrest and cupholders? Then the price! Over £40k? 😲!

As a fan of Alfa Romeo, I was very curious how the designers would fight with this new universal platform. I have to say that the Milano model is a big disappointment for me. When I saw the first leaked photos, I thought it was a graphic designer's joke, but unfortunately it wasn't.
It's not teledial rims but 🍀 The car is a Peugeot 2008 with strong elements from Zagato 2600 We will get used of it eventually!

Stellantis group underpinnings same as my new mokka a car that actually does everything and ticks all the boxes that myself and the wife need, I really like the design and will definitely be looking at this when my mokka is due to change...it's like the same car but different 😊...yes it's not really a "proper" Alfa but its being used to sell in large numbers on a proven platform to allow investment/ profit for newer models.
Love the dash its class. I think however that the front grill especially around the logo needs some chrome. I can see the simularities to the front of this with the Tonale however the Tonale's is much nicer. Its just the logo on this just looks cheap and not right. They should have done it like they did on the Tonale.
Very Stellantis, but that's not necessarily a bad thing: I've got the eC4 and it's a great car. I'm afraid I don't like the new shield - it looks broken - and the main screen is very low down; I like one higher up so you don't have to look too far away from the road, I'd also never part with my HUD. The boot is nice and big, though, and the seats look good. Look forward to seeing it on the road.
the new shield comes in 2 versions, one is written Alfa Romeo and this one.

It has been so unfair for Alfa for years. If they launch a true "Alfa" most of the auto journalists call them out for not making a car masses would buy and eventually suggest a Merc or BMW over it. Result - Alfa looses more brand value and no sales. If they make a car more suitable for masses but a little less "Alfa", they call it not worth buying coz its not an Alfa and again suggest other options. Result - Loss of Brand value and no sales! I for one love the Tonale and would like to own one in the 2.0 Petrol version which is available in Canada. The Milano might not look very "Alfa" but they need these cars to see well if they want to survive. I wish them all the luck. Any day prefer this iconic brand over generic Germans!

Congrats on bringing us the first I've seen of the car's interior. A lot of shiny plastic. Needs the use of some carbon-fibre or some textured aluminimum or fabric to hide that shiny center drive tunnel console which is going to get scratched up really quickly. Rear door cards look very basic. Front light claws look like a Peugeot or a Renault Megane/Captur. The black lower panel surrounds just make it look generic. Front grille looks like a chipmunk's front tooth (looks like some BMW influence).

Im little disappointed too, for the design. I was hopping to see something completely different from Tonale and Stelvio. Looks more the little sister. I love the interior instead. Engine....more power to the hybrid. 1.2 lt....do not convinced me

All that plastic on the front end is way to masculine, gimmicky, and cheap looking. WAY to much going on with those headlights. Grill is a Mess. I understand the idea but it was not properly executed. Quite ridiculous that i have to point to Tesla for an example on how to create a semi-timeless design... Make a Tesla with True Italian aesthetic design and it will sell. This is not difficult. Ohh, Love the 4-spoke wheels, and seats are 🔥!

overall looks a little too Stellantis - exterior forms feel more generic than previous Alfa products, not as crisp. Front grille is awful, cut out plastic shapes not working at all...front is a bit of a mess overall. Thanks for bringing the first sight to us.

The front could have been much much better. Anyway this is not an Alfa Romeo but a Pegeout 2008 which a Fiat 600 which is a Jeep Avenger which is a Opel Mokka which is a Citroen C3.
When a company can create cars as sensationally beautiful as the Giulietta, which is probably the most beautiful in its class ever, and the curvy chic Giulia, almost like recreating Monica Bellucci as a car, it is shocking to see how this new so-called Milano is as far away from them as possible.
Exterior looks a Renault in the front, in back a mixed peugeot/juke. The interior is the only thing good in this car. Thats what you get when you put so many brands in one company. If i was Italian i would be really mad with what they did with one of the most iconic brands of cars like Alfa romeo. Where is the soul, the Italian design? Sad, i was a huge fan, The Last Alfa real designs endend with the 8c, Mito and Giulieta. Now Alfa Romeo is another thing. Is not going to be a success.
An electric Alfa! A sad day for the legendary marque. Nicola Romeo, Carlo Chiti, Vitoria Jano, Rudolf HHruska, Tazio Nuvolari, Louis Chiron et al, will be spinning where they lay. Even Enzo, up there in Heaven, will be shedding a tear.
Very appalled by this design. There were a lot of acceptable concept designs that looked great. It is horrid. They could at least have added better front lights similar to the Tonale or Stelvio / Gulia. And changed the rear lights. Also the large logo in the scuddo is ugly. If I see this driving I ram my Alfa Mito QV into it;)
This is what happens when the design team are constrained by cost-cutting. This Milano is based on the eCMP architecture that underpins the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600e. As a result the Milano looks rubbish. I can't believe that all those guys in suits in Milan (of all places) thought this was a good design and would be fit for a brand new Alfa.
So glad I sold my two Alfa Romeos and went Lexus . Much happier now RIP Alfa

I'm Italian, in our country the car factories are closed...... and they put the made in Italy brand on this thing they call Milan, they make it in Poland because they say Tavares costs less, with French components and it's made in Italy ???? but do me a favor, call it Warsaw and put the Polish flag on it!!! made in Italy means assembled, produced in factories in Italy and taxes paid in Italy.............don't be fooled!!!! io sono italiano da noi le fabbriche di auto vengono chiuse ...... e questi mettono il marchio made in italy a questo coso che chiamano milano la fanno in polonia perche dice tavares che costa di meno , con componenti francesii ed è il made in italy ???? ma fatemi il piacere chiamatela Warsaw e metteci la bandiera polacca !!! made in italy significa assemblata prodotta in fabbriche in italia e tasse pagate in italia ............. non fatevi prendere in giro !!!!
