  • Back when I was in foster care, my first “official foster mom” ran away from the Philippines with her child just to get away from her abusive husband who “apparently” offed her family members (nothing was ever taken to court/proved) and she still uses her alternate name and refuses to change it or tell anyone; including her daughter, until she officially passes. She’s 95 and still going strong, healthy and isn’t slowing down but she has such a healthy diet and lifestyle so I’m not surprised. She is considered “deceased” in the Philippines, as of 5-6 years ago since the Philippine government closed the case. I think she’s rather lucky though, based on the horror stories she told me and my sisters

    • Yea, she truly is a strong and brave woman. She still works as a foster mom but a “privatized” one (meaning children in witness protection or young mothers with children who have to be “hidden” and/or protected) and she’s what CFS calls a “specialized” home. Meaning she takes care of handicapped kids, mentally ill children/teens/young adults, teen moms who need a secured place to live (usually due to domestic abuse or any sort of abuse) and kids that are not only new to CFS but also part of investigation/s. She truly is an amazing woman doing the most and I respect her.

    • She still lives in the same house too and taken care of my friend Carlene and cars’ first little girl! The house is actually really nice for the area and she always has a beautiful garden in both the front and back yard. I’ve been too ashamed to visit her but I’m thinking of trying this year. Before she passes. She’s so healthy and strong still but she’s stuck to her super healthy diet and takes supplements still but I really need to see her again. I want to see her while she’s still healthy and of sound mind.

Honestly, I dk how someone can do that to their child or children, imagine the heartbreak they're going through thinking that one of their parents passed away and only to find out years later that said parent is still alive and well and did that all for money, not worth it.

      @thediodoin1000@thediodoin10002 жыл бұрын
    • Sounds like our civil asset forfeiture here in the US….the cops can merely _suspect_ that the “large” (like $500) sum of cash you’re carrying is from ill-gotten-gains or drugs, and they can take it. Even after you prove it was your own money, they don’t have to return it. There have been cases of (typically low-income) people on their way to pay their rent who get pulled over for one reason or another. The cops have seized their rent money, essentially saying that anyone with money on the poor side of town, is probably selling drugs. Of course, those people don’t have the resources to fight such claims, so they are just out that money. It’s pretty corrupt. 😕
