  • I shoot custom rifles: on Macmillan stocks for Remington Pre-70 , jewel triggers, pillar bedded, scope rings lapped, leupold scopes, tight necks, brass formed for wildcat 17/222 30 degree shoulder (MY COYOTE GUN LEFT HAND ACTION) 30 g hollow point bullets…… Extremely accurate: easily shoot over 350-400 yds depending on the wind! Kills coyotes no problem: bullet hardly never exits…. One thing: you never cleaned locking lugs ? Inside chamber and on the bolt. I’d recommend for cold weather shooting. Where I live easily get down to over 30 below( COLD). We can’t use muzzle cans in Canada . I like how your shots are damped quite a bit plus The wide open hilly gullies and flats stretch for ever!!!! I enjoy your videos 👍

    • Also My favorite cleaning chemical is called wipe out. I foam it and let it sit overnight sometimes 24 hours. It honestly only takes about 7 or so patches to clean it completely down . if you are ever bored after you think you have your barrel is clean from the cleaner of your choice, use wipe out and let it sit for 24 hours. then patch it out. it will amaze you on what you thought was clean but really wasn't.

  • So here is a question? Say you dont "break your barrel in", in essence you are doing so every time you clean your barrel correct? If copper plugs up the tool marks, and cleaning removes said copper fouling, then your next shot is burnishing the barrel right? In theory, are you accomplishing any more by "breaking in a barrel" with a shot, clean, shot, clean routine, vs say 50 shots clean, 50 shots clean routine? I am having a hard time making sense of the theory.

  • What is the benefit of running an independent thermal system in front of your daytime scope vs a stand alone unit like lots of guys use? Just so you can have a daytime setup that stays consistent after the sun goes down?

    @willhetherington3693@willhetherington36932 жыл бұрын

  • Great video, but................................why did you oil the barrel and totally dry the chamber? The chamber needs protection just like the bore, until such time as when you're ready to use it again.

    @audieladd2476@audieladd24762 жыл бұрын
    • Because I don't use a "chamber conditioner"... The chamber is exposed to heat and extreme PSI, BUT.................... It is not exposed to the raw friction, heat, fire cracks, etc. that the bore is. Granted they are part of the same piece, but function completely differently and I treat them as such. IF I were using blued barrel that was prone to rusting, yes I would be more concerned with the Chamber aspect. AND on my AR gas operated platforms, yes I am more detailed on the Chamber portion because of how much dirtier they get. I'm not telling you not to oil your chamber, I am telling you (Like I did in the video) make sure you don't have any solvent or oil in your chamber prior to firing.
