I understand you completely and am in the same boat. I just give that love to the other kids in my life... It's not the same but it's what I have. Lol the neighbor kids like me because I feel them blueberries from bushes and candy that i keep on hand for them. Figure at least i can do is be someone safe who looks out for them and gives them good memories. Hugs to you and i wish you the very best!

That's beautiful 😭 I still sometimes wish my dad had been bothered about us. He got bored of being a father when we were still tiny. All I ever wanted was for him to love me, the tiniest bit of neutral attention from him felt wonderful. Then eventually I grew out of hoping for something he wasn't capable of or unwilling to give. I'm in my late 30s now and we're no longer in contact. I wished him a happy birthday 4 years ago and he never bothered replying. I was the only one of his three kids who still gave a damn about him. I hope this little girl has her daddy in her life forever, it must be lovely having a dad who's present and caring and affectionate. Bless her. You can tell she seeks out her dad for reassurance and love. That's so precious.

I'm middle aged and my dad is older, now. He is going through chemo. I still run to him every chance I get... but now it's me helping him. A couple days ago, we were just looking at a picture of us together when he was young and I was a little kid. It feels like a lifetime ago. I'd give anything to be a little baby sitting up on his strong shoulders again. His body is weak now, but he's strong in a whole new way. I love him so much and I'm so lucky to have had him. He's always been my rock. He's made me happy when skies were gray. It's my turn to be that for him, now. Even though my heart is in a thousand pieces. I just hope he can make it through this to a point where he can feel ok and have a good quality of life again for at least another few good years.
I'm sorry about your dad. He sounds wonderful. You are truly blessed to have someone like that in your life.

I'm so sorry that you did not have that growing up. 😢 My Ex husband ( my daughter's dad) left me while I was pregnant (very violent separation, etc) He did not become part of her life until she had graduated from High School. Then she was mad at me(as teens get, ha), and went to live with her dad and his new wife and her 3 kids. I felt The Lord had already prepared me for this, but The Lord added, "She will come back home in 3 months". Exactly 3 months later she was back, apologizing(we both did for our previous behavior). Her dad and I walked her down the aisle together, he, his wife, my daughter, son-in-law, his family, and me and my boy friend would spend 4th of July when they came into town. Sadly, my daughter's dad died unexpectedly from a heart attack about 4 years ago. He never got to meet his grandson(a miracle baby that took 18 years to get here!), but he is named after him and my son-in-law's grandfather. I pray that you have had positive male father figures in your life, whether it's a teacher, pastor, friend. 🙏🏻❤️🤗
@@giraffeNana2023 I've had a dad, but he didn't know how to raise his kids, nor did my mum. As they had 4 kids before getting to 21 years old, me as the oldest son. It wasn't till I was a 23 year old that I met a father figure, a old WW2 veteran who became a Pastor. I used go tell him about everything, especially the hardest things I've told anyone. Ol Pastor was full of God's grace, he just got up and gave me the biggest hug, and told me I was gonna make it. One of the most encouraging words I've ever heard, I teared up writing that last bit. I still talk to my mum and dad (though they are separated) but I treat them like my big brother and sister, I always give them a hug when I see them. This is coming from someone who had a violent upbringing. If that isn't God's grace then I don't know what is. 🙂

@нεяιδz yeah my mom was angry because my cousin is seen as the "goody-two-shoes" of the family and my grandmother and my aunt refused to believe she would do something so wrong so my mom frustratedly cut them off. I'm just so frustrated because it's like no one believes that my "perfect" cousin could be evil so me, my mom, and my sister are suddenly "liars"

As a 24 year old lady, I can say it can happen, my dad and I still go one father daughter dates, and my mom and I always hang out at least twice a month. Its uncommon but while puberty will make you a bit mean, a family relationship can last through those years just fine with a bit of understanding and patience :)
