      @PMARC14@PMARC14 Жыл бұрын
    • 2 engines isn't necessarily boring especially if you spice it up by throwing in unconventional openings and unconventional moves in there. Engine games are "boring" in that you can play 10,000 games and like 99.99% of them are going to be straightforward draws but when there's an interesting one, they tend to be entertaining because the engine will make move after move that makes no sense to a human but is actually good at a higher level than any human is thinking at.

      @Person01234@Person01234 Жыл бұрын
    • Part of what is so interesting is just seeing the different engine strengths, as they don't necessarily play to the full strength of the engine even if they're calculating at a depth which should offer higher strength, or if they're calculating at higher depth they're taking top moves of a lower depth version of the same engine by trying to sandbag, for example. Cheaters playing cheaters is more interesting than plain engine play because of stuff like that.

It looks a LOT like lichess' low depth bot. It loves pushing random pawns and it calculates extremely fast, with arrows, making it easy to move quickly. Of course, there's also actual bots just simply playing on the platform and it could be that too.

It made me feel cheap yet reminded me Levy is a human and I'm not entitled to his enthusiasm, despite this rushed stare he still decided to bring us top notch content and that is truly commendable and displaying of his unwavering dedication. 10/10

  • I’ve had an opponent accuse me of cheating during a game. I take it as a huge compliment every time.

    @joeecm27@joeecm27 Жыл бұрын
  • I don't know about this. With all due respect I think detecting cheating is very difficult and as you said in the video, sometimes cheaters do not cheat all the time: they either cheat at some parts of the game or some games but not others, which makes it quite difficult to detect with certainty; so everything online is rather suspicious. I believe there is something better than accuracy to detect cheating and it's something that you've mentioned: when a significantly non-intuitive move is played, corresponding to a chess engine going at a depth of 20-30, then ok that's most likely a cheating move, but everything else not so sure, if somebody's playing against a rather weak opponent it's not unusual to get all their moves corresponding to the best moves of a chess engine, hence accuracy on its own is not a good indicator.
