Asgreen was the completely right winner. He initially opened up the race, got caught in a crash, went back at all of them like nothing happened, and then goes on to beat MvdP in a sprint. Asgreen is incredible, and this is only the beginning.
It was so shocking the sprint.

One of the best ones in many years. Drama, attacks, counterattacks, 40k of insane racing and in the end the two strongest in a H2H finish. Amazing race.
It started earlier than 40k, which is why these types of races are the best.
@@Robin-bm4sp I just read that Brian Holm called it the best Flanders, he ever saw. But, of course, he is Danish with a Danish winner. Still, it was so intense riding today. And yes, the last 44km was something else.
It's so much fun to be a Danish cycling fan and it's getting better and better. Congratulations to Van Asgreen.

The danes Are outrunning everybody right now. The young danish riders have such huge talents.
What a race! Great ride by Kasper Asgreen, doing the race so hard that he Can beat MVDP in a sprint, Wow! But good ride by both.
Is it really that hard to add original commentary to these highlights? No rewatch value whatsoever this way. I rewatch the Amstel 2019 highlights a lot of times because of the original commentary. You also missed the attack on the Kwaremont that dropped Van Aert and even said that he was dropped on ‘the last test’ (Paterberg)which is just not true. Terrible highlights.
MVDP looks like Dash from Incredibles when his dad tells him to slow down on Sports day.🤣

@@robertnaaz1697 In a race like Flanders you can’t be lucky on a third place. Greg Van Avermaet was one of Those in the chasing group who did the most work. Then i attacked with Stuyven and was the strongest in the sprint.

The race was 50 meters too long for MVDP. But what a race from Asgreen. A much deserved win
even with 50 meters to go it would be a reeeaallly close one
If the race was 50 meters shorter the sprint would have started sooner as well. Your comment makes zero sense.

Asgreen knew exactly what to do in the sprint as well. The danish commentators (Rolf Sørensen) predicted exactly when he would start sprinting. Too long for the MVDPs initial kick, but not too long for Asgreen.

These highlights are too short, it didn't show the whole race situation, they need to be around at least 8 minutes long.

Why didnt they show the MVDP move on the kwaremont
Cause these high quality videos show only the most important bits and pieces. Seriously, 5 minutes is way to short even if it was fully committed to actual key moments. Many are missing but not showing the moment WVA was dropped is sad on their end..

VDP needs to get more road experience and knowledge, he spends to much time up front carrying others
Agree with that! He is exeptionally talented, but he needs more experience. Still a fantastic athlete to watch.
