Who you watching first?
You
For the first time i started to do donut. But it Failed) So few days after i made a lowpoly house, watching russian tutorial
You! I love your videos and how you break down things, it's very helpful!
Waiting for 3.5 to go stable , then I will go with Smeaf 😏
as well as the memes 🤣
Honestly, I've been putting off learning Blender... I've done some basic modeling but haven't finished any projects yet. Funny that this should get posted today because I seriously spent a lot of time thinking about Blender on the way home from work. Thanks, Smeaf!
Coincidence, I think NOT! You got this!
You bring up a good point! I'd probably benefit from revisiting the basics and starting fresh... Thanks for the encouragement c:
I stated learning blender 1 month a go but now i learnt many things and also did a new animation today 👍
@ᴊᴜꜱᴛ_ᴀ_ᴄᴏᴍᴩᴜᴛᴇʀ • ᴡʜy ᴅᴏ yᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʟᴇᴀʀɴ ʙʟᴇɴᴅᴇʀ
for me, the crossmind studio blender introduction was perfect to start, the donnut series was overwhelming
I wouldn't recommend the donut guy to start with. My brain exploded because the donuts were too difficult to eat. Then, the sober guy (crossmind) arrived and brought me a cup of Japanese green tea, and he helped me reassemble my brain. 1000+ respect.
Same for me, after crossmind donut made sense
No one ever mentions Blender Studio. It's not free, but you are directly funding the development of blender. Julien Kaspar's stylized character tutorials are really well done and I was kinda shocked how much I was able to learn in just one month.
Yeah, I figured people know what it is already, but apparently not!
Haven't touched blender since the beginning of the new year, hopping back in with all of my gained knowledge after a break helped me realize how far I have come in the software and that I'm no longer incapable of making anything!!! Time to go ham the rest of 2023!!!!
I switched from Maya after working in it for 7 years professional and now I've been using Blender for 3 years professionally. When I first started using it I felt handicapped. Today, I still feel handicapped but I can do a lot of cool stuff and I learn more everyday thanks to channels like these!
My goal this year is to start learning blender again. I did it many moons ago doing low polygon stuff, got half way through a low poly isometric jaws boat scene, would love to finish that off properly and animate it. Thanks for this Smeaf this is going to help me look in the right places to learn even more when I start back up.
That's awesome, you can do it!
hows it going bro?
Thanks for these. I'm still a beginner on Blender. The donut tutorial one did not do it for me, Instead, I had access to udemy for free and started learning there from Grant Abbit's tutorial. From there I watched many tutorials and little by little I can do my own model but still needs improvement. For everyone who has a hard time following some tutorials. - I suggest that you find some beginner videos that interests you then start from there. - Also another thing for everyone who finds it hard to even start, just watch videos for at least 2 mins > 4 mins > 6 mins > and so on this will start pumping up your energy to start something. I saw this on a motivational video and this also applies to anything that you want to learn. Just watching/showing up to do something is already a progress. SLOW PROGRESS is still a PROGRESS. :D I hope everyone finds what they are looking for. Cheers! :D
I completed the donut tutorial like 2 weeks ago and I'm just messing around with blender since, not knowing what to do next. The barely started projects are piling up and I'm losing my motivation. Thank you for this video. I'm definitely gonna check out these guys.
Yes! Keep at it You'll get there in no time!
create a workflow plan. It's the same with me, if I don't have a plan or goal I just wonder around aimlessly not knowing what to do. So I created a workflow plan. For example, beginner videos I start off doing the Crossmind Studio course, then the Donut Series from blender Guru. My next goal is to complete a video from Grant Abbitt. Don't do back to back tutorials on the same channel. Freshen it up but create a list of projects. Lastly create a list of subjects to focus on, whether that be hard surface modeling or motion graphics and write down specific videos related.
After seeing your videos I can say you're the most genuine and honest creator I've ever seen. Lots of love Smeaf! Keep bringing this amazing content ❤️🌟
I appreciate that bro 🥹
Smeaf thanks a thousand !!! never thought once that all this useful content could be available for free ❤
Dude, this is one of the most important videos out there, thanks!
I appreciate that!
Good video. Thanks for the shootout in the description!
hello smeaf! im currently self learning blender, i cannot wait to be better. Your channel is also really entertaining, i hope to see more from you!
Best of luck! Hopefully this will help you out!
im so glad i can just send this video to people the next time they ask me how to get into blender 🙏 (i am also glad i can call myself "advanced" since i can watch a CGMatter video without getting lost)
That was the goal! You're in the advanced league!
That's pure gold thanks
Thanks for the shoutout :)
Great vid, for super advanced geo nodes tutorials, I'd recommend Entagma as well, they primarily make Houdini tuts but they also make Blender geo nodes tutorials as well.
Yes, they're great!
Thank you man !
Im saving and buying all of these courses, i want the knowledge of someone that's been using blender for 20 years. And learn all of it, in about 3 years.. I will literally give my life to know how to make anything i want.
Just subbed. Awesome video. I am currently doing a Udemy course learning Blender and I'm learning a lot.
you just made my life much easier now, when someone ask me how they want to start with blender i'll just send them this video
Awesome!
Started learning blender in late 2020, best descision I’ve made
Hell yeah
Your channel is really great, your channel inspired me and I want to start blender. Can you write me how you learned blender and channels that can help?
i've been using blender for the past 7 years, which is a lot for somebody of my age (18), but i rarely learned anything new because i was always just doing the same things and then i wouldn't touch the program for another few months
That is a long while!
Almost didn't notice that at 5:54 and I can confirm it does show up in my results as well
can't wait to get a pc
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the TOAnimate shout out Smeaf :) Awesome video as usual! ♥
No problem 😊 Gotta show the love to the Animation community! Thanks!
Despite having like 2-3ish years experience in 3D modeling (3ds Max and Zbrush) i am still learning like rendering to compositing and currently animation
Always room to learn!
There's a level beyond intermediate. When you're getting by fine with your job and don't really need tutorials. But you wouldn't mind some small nuggets of info here and there to catch you by surprise. And that's where Blender Secrets comes in. Then there's another group of viewers. Folks that live and breath blender, they don't necessarily need any hand holding and have a good grasp of things, but still want to continue learning. It can get sickening though, and that's where educational entertainment comes in 🤣 Ian Hubert and yourself. Also shout out to the therapeutics, where you just sit and watch someone fiddle with vertices for hours on end. Master Xeon, I also love the way elementza explains topology (he doesn't do blender tutorials but his methods apply to modelling in general regardless of the tool you're using)
thank you so much ☺
I think this video priceless really appreciate You are amazing collection i know very youtuber 3-4 now add Give specific category list great
Informative.
Kaizen is really good, discovered him on youtube, and subbed since then, like you :). I actually basically know 85% of the channels you reported :) , all talented people with good tutorials
Thanks bro for the recommendation. 😀🙌🏻
No problem 👍
Thank you so much bro❤
Magnífico, esplêndido 🤌
Thanks!
thanks bro you are the best
I started with the donut, and then gave up after 2 videos, then locked it up with the crossmind studio's beginner ones, retrying the donut again and again can be tiring so I switched and that helped me get my boost since the first model in the crossmind studio's tutorial is a basic blocky building, very contrasting to a donut so it felt like a breath of fresh air, All I'm saying is Don't be afraid to switch tutorials, they're all good Btw: this happened a year ago
Great advice!
I tried the 1st donut tut, and got stuck, I didn't get any help from smug, arrogant. So what did he do, recreated the donut tut again which tells me there was something wrong with the 1st one, no I won't be following 'numb nuts with the donuts'
ty for productive enegry.
Wow, thank you so much
No worries!
Really recommend Max Hay as well
Yes, great reccomendation!
Thank you for the vid 🙏 Just wanted to ask if it's worth learning blender and use it for freelance product advertising and arch viz or making 3D printable digital STL file models with everything going on with ai rn?
There's another channel that I recommend for animation. Royal Skies. Although he doesn't upload Blender tutorials anymore, his 1-minute Blender tutorials were a GOD-SEND. Specific and right to the point. Any beginners that want to learn animation in Blender, trust me. Start with Royal Skies first AND THEN move on to Pierrick Pecaut (Whom I also follow extensively) because Pierrick has a lot more intermediate/advanced techniques in his catalogue.
Why he doesn't upload blender tutorials anymore?
@@v4hacker he said that he felt like he had shown much of everything that he knows about blender and wanted to move on to different programs like z-brush and substance painter tutorials.
Thanks bro ❤
Also, chat gpt is excellent for learning blender. Just ask how to make anything really and it will give you a step by step process. You can quickly ask what any value or button/modifier does as well.
Always been a great creator you are man. I learned a lot of stuff from you. Can you make an tutorial for modeling tshirt, I mean there are many but without using a Doll model and instead hanging the Tshirt on a hanger! I would mean the world for me man!
Thanks! Yeah i'll see what I can do
@@Smeaf ty for replying 🖤
Thxxxxx
No problem
I hope you put Ian Hubert here. He is one of the best Teacher out there. Mad Respect.
7:30 The fact he used the terraria soundtrack here just made me enjoy this bit much more
Grant Abbitt! His Tutor Skills are amazing.
Yes they are!
This is pure facts.
0:19 best part
Imphenzia is great to watch to!
Any recommendations for product animation stuff kinda like your course on Skillshare ? Really enjoyed your course on Skillshare, although I’m still lost as to how to make my own textures for UV mapping.
Polygon Runway deserves a mention!
Thanks for the video. Very useful! I learned Blender 3D last year (when 3.0 was released) but then got busy with other stuff. Planning to get back to it. Always wanted to try Donut tutorials, but couldn't. Maybe this time. Curious to know why no Udemy courses are mentioned (especially: The Complete Blender Creator course)?
thanks for that i gonna start my 1st donut right now !
Nice!
Wait what? Another video within a week? The droughts over; tonight we feast like kings boys!
Thank you everybody!
question i havent checked far enough back yet just starting to watch your videos, but can you draw? ive been wanting to learn vfx since i seen some of ian hubert years ago, but i dont know if you need to know how to draw, for instance i cant paint digitally, and i cant draw very well, i know how to draw basic cylinder type anatomy and perspective 1-5 points but thats it, colour light etc and actually rendering and stuff i suck at, would this hold me back or is 3d a different skill set?
This video is a gold mine.
With the best resources available. Blender CONTENT
nice. there are still people that I still didn't see here on my recommended feed. thanks *Smeaf.
No worries Nell!
I knew I've recognized the soundtrack.....The Lamb send it's regards!
Love that lamb
this guy just shoutout to every blender tutorial youtube channel lol
Thanks for the shoutout!
No worries!
Smurf is back quickly!😊
Smeaf: Back in action
Do you have any channel that you know where they teach how to prepare objects for 3D printing? Thank you.
Nice content
Thanks!
So you missed Royal Skies? Not a problem! Also Blender Bob has great industry tips, and Lane Wallace has great quality short videos
Nice
Thanks
Bro is on the grind! How do you make soo many high-quality videos soo fast?!?! (Great work!) EDIT: Oh, and thanks for the shout-out! :)
On the damn *_G R I N D_* Lot's of late nights haha

Haha thanks! Maybe down the line...

You'll get there!
Ahhh when I heard the Ape Escape Soundtrack I melted

Number 5: SMEAF!
Number 15 Burger Ki-
@@SmeafOne of the best ways to learn Blender is from Burger King foot lettuce.
thank you so much, bu I want to ask you a question about Ai (Do I still have a chance to learn 3D) because Ai do anything now, or I should find something els learn
No worries! The answer is yes, it's a worth while skill to have, even if majority of it's function will be outsourced to A.I Having the skill will open you to so many opportunities and you will always have the human touch which can't be beaten.
You edit on the video is just amazing how much you take to make a video 🤔?
Thanks! It takes a fragment of my soul each upload
Wait for donut tutorial 2023.
It honestly will happen, when the next big Blender release comes, Andrew will make a new updated version
me who learnt everything form polyfjord alone and didn't even knew about any other
the only reason i watch your tuts is coz of those transition videos🤣🤣🤣they get me un aware all the time
Hey smeaf, is there any way to learn making "3d healthcare animations and medical and surgical illustrations". Any specific channels or course.. If not, then how can i learn that?
Woah woah woah... Polygon Runway?
Oh my god you didn't mention CGBoost! The best for me
There's so many options for learning, I didn't want to put everything into the video
😉 Oh come on Smeaf, you changed the title but not the description. (Still says 'in 2023') Still a very good video and resource though! Big thanks!
Dang I still haven't done the donut tutorial yet 😵💫
No way! Get on dat!
Ian Hubert has some good tutorials with.. lets say "unconventional" techniques
Lmao
What's the background music at the videostart? :O
Could you plz recommended channel for cgi ? I wanna use blender for cgi . Next will move to vfx.
