  • The first time I saw my dog at the shelter I knew she needed out, she just looked defeated and depressed. She had been through multiple homes so even taking her home she didn't get excited. Few days after I got her home she finally opened up and now she's my crazy little love bug. So if you're reading this and don't have a dog yet this is your sign, go get your best friend.

    • It's all about trust cat's are just the same as dogs when it comes to a new home. They will tread carefully and owners need to accept that thought. For starters you need a peaceful home declutter everything and start afresh. No screaming excitable kids loud TV or music blasting. This is the opportunity to bond. But a lot of people don't get the attention and basically give up. I've had several dogs over the years and they've all came from rescue shelters. They've had their ups and downs but pulled through (Takes Time) but the rewards will flood in 🐩🐕

    • I do understand that sometimes people get under financial constraints or are basically forced in to housing that doesn't allow pets, or maybe they are a family member or friend of the dog's previous owner who passed. You can't view everyone who surrenders as heartless because you don't know the full story. However, for those who willingly go out of their way to adopt and raise a dog and then later decide it was too hard, I can't accept that. You shouldn't have made the decision to adopt or own a dog then. Period.

You’re either sending them out with an adoptive family right then and there, or you’re tricking them - and disappointing them - just for the sake of getting clicks on a KZhead video. Pretty cruel.

    • It reminds me of when people talk about having to put their pet to sleep, but not wanting to be there. Being with your pet during those last moments is HUGE for them & can lower their fear/anxiety, people don't realize how scared they are in those situations. I've had those bittersweet moments more than I can count & it's always worth it to be there in the end with them, even if it hurts.

    • Also, when I have to euthanize a pet, I take my other pets with me. I put my deceased pet on the floor at the vet and let my other pets walk around him/her and they just know their friend is gone. Before I started doing that, my live pet at home would wander around looking for their friend, my cats would go from room to room crying for their friend, my dogs seeming depressed, lost. Also, I always go in and hold my pet that is being euthanized, telling them I love them over and over. It rips my heart out, but it's not about me at that time, it's about them. I just don't want them to be scared or alone. I also do the same with my old goats that have died, or had to be euthanized. I leave the deceased goat in the pasture before burying them to let the herd that has grown up together walk around their friend. They sniff at and walk around their friend and seem to realize their friend is dead, and adapt better. The hardest part of rescuing, raising and loving our companion animals, is end of life. I pray for mine and tell them they're going to their forever home, I love them, and will see them again...all the while crying like a baby. 😢

Luke 15:7 - I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. John 3:3 - Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 1:12 - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Matthew 7:21 - Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Romans 3:23-26 KJV For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

  • I volunteered at a shelter when I first retired and watching an animal get adopted is the best feeling you’ll ever have. This brought tears to my eyes. This guy is right about watching a dog watch his people walk away. The worst was when an owner died and the family didn’t want the animal. Usually that was the only home the dog or cat had ever had and they had NO idea why they were being left. Seeing that happen made me decide I would adopt senior dogs who had lost their owner. Last year I adopted two miniature dachshunds who were 17 and 18 yrs old. Every time I leave the house they’re sure I’m never coming back and it’s so sad to see that. They’re so excited when I return and I hope soon they will forget that terror of losing their former owner. I say all that to say Adopt from a shelter! And if you can, adopt a senior dog or cat. They still have a lot of love to give.

  • I adopted my baby boy when he was 2 1/2 years old. The staff at that humane society absolutely lit up with joy when they found out that he was going to his forever home with my husband and I. Then staff then explained that he had been surrendered there twice. First time as a pup from Tennessee and the second time when this old lady had abused, (at the time) her adult daughter’s dog and forced her to give him up after she threw a shoe at him and he snapped his teeth at her as a warning. When I found him in that kennel, he looked like his spirit had been beaten down. He was very timid and shy when he came to the kennel door to greet me. He then sniffed my hand and went back to lay on his cot. However, the moment we brought him out for a private meet and greet he was sooo excited that his whole body was wiggling. He immediately grabbed a toy and started playing with everyone in the room. He stole my heart that day and ultimately, saved my life. I’ve struggled a lot with depression and had just been released after being hospitalized for a week. I knew he needed me to love him and he knew that I needed him as a companion to love me in return. Four years later, we are going on our first family vacation together. I’m so excited as it’ll also be his 6th birthday. I love him more than anything in the world and am grateful for each simple, little moment I have with him. Truly, he’s my best friend. Wish I could share a picture here but I guess it’s his story that counts. So blessed to have him as my baby. ❤❤❤

If their family doesn’t want them, (they get ousted by the pack) they wonder what they didn’t do that they should have,or what they did wrong (a surrendered dog won’t think that maybe there’s another reason that their family left them)

We’ve been trying our best to give him the best life, since the day we’ve brought him home. At night he curls up in his blanket and sleeps soundly. He even snores a little, sometimes. We whisper in his ear that he’s loved, he’s safe and he’s home.

I don't know how they feel specifically, or what words they would use to describe it, but i know that when i most feel like god exists, is when i see something "magical" or "awe-inspiring" is happening, or if the events remind me of "miracles" or angels, etc. in this man's case in the video, he's making so many animals happy, he's just being his sweet ol' self and these animals lives are being made better for it. it's as if he was "supposed" to be there, it's as if he's where he's needed most and, wouldn't it be nice if god actually cared and had a say in how our world works? that kinda thing. I don't always believe in god, but sometimes, things happen that make you feel things that are hard to describe. things you now need words for and struggle to explain.

    • Yeah tbh if I worked at a shelter I would probably yell at every family who came in and surrendered their pet 🤷‍♀️ I just am not the type to give up on my family just because it gets a little hard for me. I get it everyone’s life is different and maybe they don’t have the funds to take care of them anymore but it would still be heartbreaking to watch. It’s always been my dream to one day own a huge house with huge land and provide a home for as many animals as possible. 😢 i rescued a cat recently that showed up at my house one night during hurricane Ian in October… and i found his owner he had been missing from her for a year and a half!!! I found her but the saddest part was finally getting her to respond to me and her not wanting him anymore 😭😭😭 it broke my heart. We already had two rescue cats and recently adopted a puppy so it was hard taking in another animal especially when my other two cats don’t get along with each other 😅but we are making it work because he is such a sweetheart such a wonderful cat and he deserves love and a home. I have been trying to find a family that might want him for months but no one is taking me up on it 😢 he wasn’t fixed either but someone did help me and donated some money to get him fixed so that’s what we’re going to do we have an appointment set up for tomorrow morning to finally get him fixed and he might have more offers for homes and if not then he at least will always have a home here❤❤

They want to take care of a cute little baby, but then get pissed at the responsibility of it depending on them or having its own needs the 2nd it grows up. The way we live and the system we live in feeds off of consumerism, and treating everything and everyone like an expendable item on the shelf. A lot of animals are even smarter than most toddlers (not punching down on kids). It's just that a lot of animals instinctually have their own way of life, so putting them in a man-made house, expecting them to live up to human standards while putting them in that situation is ridiculous. A lot of people really have the mindset that everything and everyone exists for their own entertainment and amusement. Trauma be damned.

  • When we adopted my grandma's dog and went to pick her up, the people in the shelter put a little red bow around her neck. I suppose that was their way of celebrating an animal finally being adopted and going home - putting a little bow on them as they wait for their family. There was a cat too, with another bow. I suppose that was a good day in that shelter. :) This was a very long time ago. I remember the first time we took her to a walk, she was scared to leave the yard. She probably already started to bond with us in those few hours we spent together, liked the place, and was scared that we'd take her back and abandon her. She enjoyed the walk, but the biggest enjoyment for her was going back inside the yard. The 2nd time she was still nervous, but not nearly as scared and hesitant. Eventually she learned that we'll always go HOME after we go out for a walk, and she became a super big fan of it, making a little happy dance every time she saw us walking towards the leash. :) I hope the cat at the shelter found a forever home, too. I know our dog did. After a decade of being with us, she passed away from old age in her sleep. It wasn't unexpected or anything. We could already see her getting more and more tired, and slowing down in the months and weeks leading up to it. Those 11 years of playing soccer, running around and going on walks finally tired her little body out, but she at least got to enjoy every moment of her remaining life. Her mood was great up until the end, though. Even though she got tired extremely fast, she still wanted to play every time. It's always sad to bury a friend but it also fills me with a sort of joy that she died like this, because I know that we really were her forever home. From the moment they put the bow on her neck to the moment she closed her eyes for the last time, she finally had a home and a family of her own that loved her. :)

Heaven is not a set destination for every dead person😊 way to salvation ♡ You come in to church of Christ, hear the gospel(Romans 10:17), believe the gospel (Romans 1:16), confess the Jesus Christ is the son of God (Romans 10:9-10), repent of your sins and be buried in baptism for the remission of your sins(Acts 2:38) and live faithfully unto death.

    • Some people have to give up pet by choice, it’s not like they want to, it could be down to many reasons, the owner is no longer fit enough to look after the animal, the owner has died, or the owner doesn’t have time to care for the animal, people have lives and our lives come first, I have 2 pet dogs that have been in my family for a very long time, I’ve had them since pups and the oldest is 11, I’ve had multiple pet dogs over the years, and have all died living a happy and peaceful life, as a dog owner losing a pet is like losing a human being from your family or a friend
