Europeans Are Building Defences in Case Russia Attacks NATO
United Kingdom, Poland, Sweden, Finland, and the Baltic States - these countries are mobilising military-industrial bases and building fortified structures on the border with Russia. More than 2 years of a brutal conventional full-scale war on the territory of Ukraine acted like a cold shower for those who awaited a 'fast resolve' of the war. In case of a broader conflict, Europeans must be ready to face the threat.

Shame on Putin
He knows no shame. He has been preparing this since 1999 and everything he has done over the years should be seen in that light. We on the other hand have been sleeping and letting him pull the wool over our eyes with his offerings of cheap gas and oil. When a deal is too good to be true, then there usually is something wrong and our representatives have not been alert on that. We should have been prepared for all of this instead of scrambling to turn things around. The real shame is on us for letting it get this far.

I am all for having NATO troops in Moldova as a safeguard. We need to have a more aggressive stance on this.
Russian doctrine on nukes is much safer than our American version. We have no check and balance system like Russia has. Putin can say whatever he wants but the people in charge of nukes are more powerful than him and can deny his order. He has to prove to them that no other option is left.

Russia will pay Europe for the disturbance caused by this conflict. One way or another they will. Most likely, Macron will try to seize some territories near the Caucasus and the Black Sea. Kola Peninsula, as a fishing area, may become a British dependency. Severnaya Zemlya is being claimed by some Spaniards. And those regions near the Bering Strait would probably become US non-incorporated territories.

So the Baltic states joined Nato in 2004, approx. 14 years after the fall of Berlin wall and collapse of the soviet union , but Nato stationed no troops there ,not til 3 years after 2014,until 2017. and then it was a battlegroup about battalion sized in each of the 3 Baltic states ,about 27 yrs after 1990. Then, after russia invaded Ukraine , Nato discussed it for almost 2 years and now this year Germany and Canada are increasing their battlegroups to brigade strength , but not til 2027 . and Canada, leading the battlegroup in Latvia to rotate that ,then , so just Germany putting in a permanently stationed brigade ,and that in Lithuania , which faces Belarus but not russia proper .. and the Brits leading the battlegroup in Estonia havent increased the battlegroup size there . Also the Baltic states are building the Baltic defense line ,stretching down the eastern borders of their countries ,in other words facing russia, and belarus .pretty hard to launch an assault through barbed wire anti tank ditches etc
Russia has nuclear weapon so nobody would invade Russia. Nobody needs this pain in the ass. Russia always needs excuses, not a reaso. If Russia was a good neighbour, there would be no need to join Nato in order to be secured.
