She does return to Momoko sometimes. I think Sumomo finds it more peaceful with Toto, hence why she is so content with her. It's just her preference! 😄😄 It seems as if Momoko appreciates this in return, otherwise she would not allow Toto to do so.

Toto and Haoko get along very well. She’s not bothered by mating with him or she would avoid him, run from him, and scream and chase him off like Momoko does. They aren’t humans. She’s not being abused. Haoko is HER Silverback and she’s enjoyed his company for quite some time now. ❤

I might get booed here, but I like Haoko & Shabani’s Troops better than Momotaro, not because of him, I don’t care for Genki. I really like the females in Haoko & Shabani’s Troops, but not Genki. Part of it is she throws her KawKaw at Momotaro & I saw her through some at Gentaro. I wish they could bring in another female for Momotaro, let Genki have her own place, get Gentaro & Annie in the same enclosure/habitat, & have Kintaro go back & forth from mommy & daddy until he’s able to have his own troop. They need to bring in some gorillas from another country close to them, that are not related to any of the 3 Troops they have there.

Genki is a good mother. She has a history and in spite of all she went through she is pure love with her children. Momo is growing up. He has his own story too. I just love them all and have compassion for all they went through psychologically because yes they have feelings and what a struggle it can be locked in a metal cage with little greenery.

Why do I feel bad for her? I don't think she wanted it but it seems like she has to to avoid getting beat up by the Silverback. It looks like they know what their duty is, and that is to keep the Silverback happy.

@ladiable4171 Unlike humans, the female does indeed have the ability to decline. Perhaps a little to much seeing them as so often is the sad state of humans. They are actually civilized in their approach. There's a lot going on between their communication, that most of us don't detect.

And that's good because I heard from zookeepers who have endangered species in the breeding program saying that they need more females for the breeding program because there's too many male silverback and if you want to save a species you need to both of the different genders to make a baby and the parents can't be related.

この日、ハオコとトトさんが仲良く並んでいた光景は複数のSNSで散見しましたが、その後、2頭が行為に至った事はこちらの動画で初めて知りました。 やはり、その事を含めての群れでの生活ですよね。 高齢のトトさんがスモモちゃん等、子ども達に懐かれ、ハオコとも交尾含めコミュニケーションが図れている事が嬉しいです🥰👍
