In 2022, Moustache Jim Studios partnered with Top Chop Barber to open a barbershop.
Set in a building from 1913 and located close to downtown Minneapolis. The high ceilings, old wood floors, and Jim’s style reminded us of the 1920s. Since he opened the shop last year, Jim has been letting the space grow organically over time.
Adorning the walls, you’ll also see some of Jim’s work. Jim is an amazing photographer! He does old school plate photography. You can see more of his work here👇🏼

Love that vid too. So glad you got this followup video. The scissor sounds are tops.
Hay it's Jason rupp ❤ you 2 are my favorite you tube hair and shave channels ...amazing as always harry it was so relaxing 🫶🫶
Watched the shave from Jim video so many times nice and relaxing just before going to bed and this new haircut video what a masterpiece Thanks Harry
Harry ...did you know if you take allot of vitamin E your hair will grow faster ?
The "School of Moustache Jim" is back in session!! 😁 Definitely have been waiting for your return visit there, Harry. Thank you!
Absolutely love moustache Jim. He’s so chaotic but relaxing at the same time. He seems like he’s right out of a Tim Burton movie. He’s got pulley systems all around his space, lightbulbs flying down from the ceiling to get a better look, and countless drawers that you’ll never know what will be found within.
Great descrition
Cordless clippers would change his life. I wonder if he is aware they exist or whether he just likes the aggravation of old school clippers? The lighting is another topic, where do you start? Love the guy anyway and have done for years.
@@Simon-fr4ts I think he knows about it. But judging from the general vibe of his shop (or should I say, studio), he prefers to keep it like that, just like how the barber used to be back in the days.
This could be a book. I would read a story if it had that description on the cover!
@@Simon-fr4ts aesthetic old skool
“Here, smell this rag” was criminally underrated haha
This video is almost one hour long and it is 85% scissors ASMR. I already love it! One of my favs already, ambience was so chill
This cut felt so chaotic and poetic at the same time. I really enjoyed this barber's work. Thank you Harry and Jim for this great performance!
Organized chaos can be a beautiful thing
It's such a pleasure watching someone performing his work with such a respect for himself and his client. Top class hair cut.
Absolutely, looks so precise but also frantic. Excellent
Very nice haircut.
I like how some barbers will say thank you when Harry tells them they can do whatever they like. Fun to watch them use their talents and creativity. Great video!
HH: Do what ever you like. MJ: One Snidely Whiplash, coming up!
u do realise behind scene they oviously talk about what to cut...harry not gonna say cut it all off if u want there would be conditions certain things cant do as no hair = no videos
@@raine6634 It should be pretty understandable that if someone goes into a barber salon with middle-long hair that the barber wont just shave his head.
@@raine6634 But ofc, they talk to each other before and after about several things :)
Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay
4:03 This guy is so oldschool he summoned a cartoon sound effect
Somebody slipped on a banana peel.
😂
🤣!!!!
Jim is the OG of the KZhead barbershop world.
“Let’s see if we can finish this before the barber gets here!”. A barber with a sense of humor, LOL!
😂😂😂
That was hilarious I promise you!!
😂😂😂
When I got a shave from Mustache Jim, I said, “this is my first straight razor shave.” To which he instantly replied, “Mine, too!” 😂
haha
Shout out to mystery woman, for the sacrifice in getting all the right shots for us to enjoy and fall asleep too 😴. Your filming does not go unnoticed.
Agreed she always gets the best shots and is never in the way of the barbers
I will FOREVER be a fan of Mustache Jim! Thanks, Harry, for another collabo!
Glad to see that Jim is still doing well after all these years. I remember watching his videos when I was 14 and I’m closing in on 30 now.
Wait how old is Jim then?? 😦
Jim is 78.
@@that-guy213 Same age as his mustache
Jim had a channel circa 2007?
@@ayejay5603 This video was posted 6 months ago and looking it up it says Jim is 43.
Jeesh! Jim isn't just a barber, he's an artist! How passionate, what a grace! I bet it was a heck of experience for you Harry. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Absolutely adore the metallic chirping of the fluttering shears! Thanks for treating us to this wonderful haircut with Moustache Jim! Harry, your eyelids were at half mast during most of session! Awesome video!🎉
The scissors are like an extension of the barber’s hand. Absolute master of his craft. Bravo 👏🏻
You can tell that Jim really enjoys what he does for a living. thanks for taking us along
This barber is the number one. Incredible skills as a barber, incredible skills for asmr and incredible posters
Love that flip he does with the comb.
NYC barber museum guy was dope too, with that scissors over comb cut.
Typically you don't want talking in these types of videos but with Jim I always want more. I love his comments and personality. He's got a great voice. I wouldn't mind a video where he just describes what he's doing the entire time.
There are at least 2 such videos on KZhead as we speak starring Jim. 👍🏼
Never thought I would see Harry having a haircut with Moustache Jim. It's something I hoped would eventually happen many years ago. It was worth the wait. Thanks to all for making this happen. This has gone right to the top of my favourite all time HH videos!
He already did a video with Moustache Jim last year.
Dude Jim was the very first ASMR video I've ever watched. It's awesome to see him again
también fue mí primer video
what video was that?
@@danielcarter3928 It was posted under the Style Progress YT channel. I think if you just search Moustache Jim Taper Haircut (along those lines) it should show up at the top. It's been in my ASMR list for close to a decade now and still watch it.
So relaxing listening to the sound of the scissors . I like the old time barbershop feel . Jim is a skilled master of his craft
I must have watched this video at least 50 times and I never get bored of it.
MUSTACHE JIM is the MAN,Dress style, hairstyle,MUSTACHE is unique, like he lived in the VAUDEVILLE days, his shops decor also. His shop is so elegantly relaxing as you’re hearing his skills with the scissors cutting away, the howling winds coming in and out as well as making it more therapeutic for rest and relaxation, great video, MUSTACHE JIM is TOP NOTCH, would be honored to experience his shop a few times if ever in Minnesota 😍👍🏻❣️
When he said “here smell this rag” i laughed so hard
The Ultimate Ringmaster of the Barber Circus has returned. I love Moustache Jim! He reminds me of my childhood barber, humble and down to earth. We need more of Jim in the world.
Oh my God! 😮 I didn’t recognize him from the thumbnail, but when I clicked play 😮 I had such nostalgia. I used to rewatch his art of shaving video so many times years ago. He is such a professional and masterful lad. so glad to see him looking well, and doing his thing!!! ❤
Jim, always a pleasure and glad to know your new saloon is coming out nicely! With everything happening all around us, Jim, you are definetely a plus in the world.
Jim is a hidden gem on this channel. Loved the shave vid from last year too. His shop looks super nice. Thanks Harry and Jim!
Jim is absolutely dancing with his tools on Harry’s hair. Thanks Harry and Jim for such a great work 🎉
This guy has hands that are so very articulate and calculated in every movement. Fascinating to watch.
They’re really not he’s just winging it
Its Jim! The first time ever watching him was the video titled: The Executive Straight Razor Shaving Experience by Mustache Jim, Master Barber. A great and talented barber. Nice to see him 8 years later. Great video, Harry.
Loved when you could see the ‘shards’ of hair flying up in the light. So satisfying
He reminds me of the barber I went to from my first haircut through to adulthood (Adam's Barber Shop in Riverside, California). My dad and grandfather also went to him. He gave a full scissor cut - never used clippers. I remember the scissors fluttering in my ear as he'd taper my hair. This is a talented and rare barber.
You can tell by his hand movements this guy is a pro. He is observant of every stroke and very precise. A true artist!
The thing I really like about Jim's whole setup is the old time electricity as a new thing deal. He relies on old school sheers and razors, but throws in some cool clipper work
This was so good. Harry your a legend. Jim is world class. Love how elegant and caring Jim is. Kind soul
Jim is world class. Quality barber.
Almost an hour of pure ✂️ magic
This was a masterpiece! Thanks for the hard work and time that went into editing it too. It doesn’t go unnoticed, you’re the best Harry🙏🏼
Jim is a true professional. Pleasure to watch him in action.
When I was a kid growing up my grandfather took me to a barber like this. It was always a great experience. This brings back great memories.
I enjoy watching Mustache Jim do his thing either using shears and a comb or giving a straight razor shave. And then of course you Harry are an excellent person and patron. It’s always a delight seeing you go to some of your past experiences along with the new locations to get fixed up and looking daper. Thank you for post some great experiences.
This one is gonna go down as a classic! The asmr was off the charts!
Hell yeah, Moustache Jim! An old video of him doing a wet shave was one of the very first shaving/ASMR videos I ever watched. I owe him a lot for introducing me to a whole new area of interest.
I love the ending where he gives him different ways to wear it depending on the occasion. He has a true passion for barbering! This was very relaxing to watch too!
He always does an amazing job!
Absolutely 💯
@@JasonRuppVlog seeing you comment on Haircut Harry videos is like learning that one of your favorite rappers favorite rapper is also one of your favorite rappers haha
Just love watching an expert doing something properly and taking their time to do it. Great shop too 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
hard work, patience application, this man love his job. Great.
Jim is a true "Professional". While watching, he and his shop transported me back in time. A definite favorite...
The Man, the Myth, the Artist himself! So glad a collab I have been looking forward to, in almost a decade has finally happened!
This isn’t the first time that Harry has visited this legend
Man, I remember when I first saw Moustache Jim and his flying shears on KZhead many, many years ago and the ASMR came on stroooong. Good to see he’s still at it, still as charming as ever!
This Moustache Jim video has become my video to relax before going to sleep! ❤️
@@stu4768 another good one! 👏🏻
This is so relaxing and chill that even Harry fell asleep at 27:01 Thank you Harry & Jim for this video!
I love how he gentle touches his shoulder to wake him up
It has felt like an eternity since you said that this vid was coming. It’s gonna be a masterpiece as alway
Oh, I know! Lots of work goes into the editing - hopefully, the wait was worth it!
@@HairCutHarry it was! 👏
@sackercod Glad to hear that!
Amazing! The skill of this professional is impressive, combined with his great education and cordiality.
I remember watching jim in that wellki vid 8 or 9 years ago, time flies!
Between his style and the shop décor, I love the retro vibes. It's great to see him back on the channel :)
I hope these retro vibes stay carried by the next generations always a cool thing to walk in a room and time travel
He's a throwback of the 1800s
I could see Jim set in the old west giving haircuts and shaves. He has that old timey western vibe.
Suuuuper relaxing video plus I got a little chuckle out of “let’s see if I can bust this out before the barber gets here” and “here smell this rag” 😂
The humility of his little operation is very charming.
I've watched every single video you have made on the channel and I have to say that this one is my favorite! So much ASMR the way mustache Jim works those scissors. I have to laugh at his personality too! "Smell this rag" & "get this done before the real barber gers here". I just love everything about this video. Well done Harry
Mustache Jim is awesome. Been watching him for years now.
Edward Scissor Hands! I love how Harry always stays quiet for us ASMR’s
It's such a relief. A lot of the other channels just gab with the barber and it ruins the whole ambiance.
Mr. Jim you did an awesome job! You pay attention to your clients head and the final result "breathtaking"
I wish we could have a haircut with Moustache Jim every week
I love his scissor action, reminds me a little of Edward Scissorhands with his eccentric arm flailing and hummngbird-like scissor clipping that never seems to be still. I love this guy! Really fascinating and draws you in. I also love his place, any salon with a bureau is a plus in my book. Awesome job Sir!!!!
Reeks plenty of class with this haircut. If only i could find a barber like him.
I love watching Jim again!!! One of my favorite barbers to watch and it’s always refreshing to see his craft 🙂 Cheers!!
What an absolute gentleman, a true professional perfecting his craft. Great job
WELL DAMN! This guy has some crazy skills. Measured but delicate and not a lot of electric gear. I think, personally, one of your best hair cuts. Loved the old time European vibe to the shop. And that raising and lowering the light bulb.. well that was magic. Didn't see this one coming. Good show.
Stunning, a delight to watch and listen to! Jim's work and place are pure art, and so is your video production, Harry. Thank you, all, and cheers from Canada!
I went on a binge and watched a lot of these videos and this barber was the best I saw out of all of those vids
The fluttering shears is an accurate description. Moustache Jim is a wonder with those scissors! Loved watching him work. More please!
Wow! Jim is looking slim and healthy and is still the fastest pair of shears in the mid-west! Fantastic, stylish cut as always! ♥💈✂👍
Jim is on a whole other level, he's beyond a pro
It was like this guy was cutting each hair individually but absolutely mesmerising and hypnotic and relaxing.
at one point i had to check if i was watching this at normal speed. Jim and the speed of his scissors is top rank....its insane
The shop looks great since the last video. Such a joy to watch good scissor work instead of so many relying on clippers. Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
With him running out of places in the world to visit, Haircut Harry traveled back in time to bring us a haircut in the old west. Great video i love it!! ♥
I love the way everything is so ergonomically wrong, in the back of cupboards, behind mirrors etc, but it works perfectly 😁
Hands down best cut imo. Jim's shear work and use of old-school technique and elixirs are something else!
It was cool to see Harry's level of deep relaxation!
This has become my favorite channel on KZhead. I’ve always loved and been fascinated by the ephemera of barber shops. The spinning pole, the glass jar of blue water, the neck tape, and the sounds and smells…unfortunately for me, where I’m from I’m unable to find such detail-orientated barbers. Mostly, it’s a rush job and here’s 50 dollars. Love ya Harry. From Nebraska.
at one point i wasnt too sure where this was going but at the end when he applies the product everything came to life and the few different styles he applied were all enlightening. great job !
So delightful to see people take geniun pride in their work/craft. I also like blend of old styling to give that feeling of step back in time. *Waves from London, UK*
"Here smell this rag" man I love the barber's sense of humor 🤣🤣
I’ve fallen asleep twice now without finishing the video. Those scissor sounds and his technique are just incredible.
An absolute master at his craft, To the untrained eye you would almost think he wasnt cutting hair at all, Just going through the motions, A magician, Maybe one out of 25 chops hits the mark me thinks.
Nice to see how his shop esthetics has evolved since last years video. Solo lightbulb a very unique touch.
Always love videos with Jim. He really seems like a genuine guy. 🙂
Brilliant Harry. My day is much brighter when a new Haircut Harry video drops!! I love the details about this place, the old building etc and his interest in old photography.Thank you 😊❤
Great to hear the new video brightened your day 😊 Jim's place is awesome - he is always busy creating and we love that!
@@HairCutHarry😊👍🏴🏴
Please do another hair cut with this guy, is an awsome experience to warch it work
One of my favorites, such a pro and so talented with the scissors, he is a rare jewel in the barber profession.
I’ve never seen this technique before, it was really awesome. And he was such a cool guy. Great episode as always Harry!
Jim is one of the best.
I love the barbers older fashioned look, so refreshing. He did a great job on Harry.
Awesome video. Loved it when he lowered the light bulb and plugged in to the light bulb wire. It's enjoyable watching people take pride in their work as well. 👍
I started watching you when I was in my teens and could use some help getting to sleep and I found out asmr barber videos were the deal. Now we here and I am getting nearer to 30 haha. Love all the creations you have made Harry and amazing to see Jim and his craftsmanship again. Stay awesome 😎
I wil stay awesome
Wow! I really enjoyed how he took the time to show you different styles that may be done with your hair. Great video!
