  • It's crazy. These "more best ever..." are just filmed on an iPhone and yet they still hold up against the main channel for quality. Sonny is the King of Food. Thank god he never got lost to TV

  • I think there was some translation error. The prawn empanada was with slightly salty queso ranco not parmesan. They tend to use parmesan instead of the local names for a few cheeses.

    @SENZBIRMZ@SENZBIRMZ2 ай бұрын
    • Ah, I was wondering, because that was definitely not real parmesan/parmigiano... Parmesan is just very much not a melty cheese, but if locally they kind of use it as a generic term for some cheeses, it might explain how that term made it in the video.

  • Apparently, the Chilean explosion of mayonaise (mayonesa) started in the 1980s, when commercial mayonaise first became available, and its ability to stay shelf stable at room temperature guaranteed popularity. Also a huge sandwich culture exists in Chile! Information found in a WaybackMachine archive for Latin American Markets

  • Chile has many different types of seafood that are out of the ordinary: giant mussels (Cholgas and Choro zapato), giant barnacles (picorocos), piure, pinuca, abalone (locos), machas, navajuelas, giant sea snails, also algae such as cochayuyo, lúche, ulte, all kinds of fish and crustaceans of which for me the best is the Magallanes King Crab ("centolla"). Of course you can try it in gourmet dishes but if you want to try the most authentic flavor, it is best to travel to the south of Chile, especially Chiloé, where you can eat the traditional "Curanto". I'm from the Magallanes region, in Patagonia, where King Crab is caught, here we typically eat it on a base of lettuce with half an avocado in the center of the plate, stuffed with King Crab and the legs of the King Crab on the sides, all garnish with homemade mayonnaise.
