  • For anyone reading this: I know that dog training can be difficult sometimes, but you're doing great. Keep up the good work, and your dog (and your own sanity) will thank you for it!

    • Thanks. My GF and I are having a fun but challenging time with our 5 months old Blue heeler. She's the most intelligent and stubborn pup I've ever raised. She will end up being the most incredible, no doubt.

  • Hey Will!!! I have been watching a lot of your videos since getting my new pup! He is a Doberman!!! I was curious if you could make a video on how to train a puppy with a significant other! We struggle making him understand we both are leaders and I think were just confusing him! Would be awesome!! :) love your videos !!!!

  • Really interesting! From observation this one seems to be a technique that many dog owners struggle with or don't train at all, which can make things dangerous out in busy public spaces for their dog & sometimes also for other animals? Clearly takes some significant time & effort, and a good solid understanding of what motivates your individual dog (food? praise? play?), but very important to achieve... Particularly with bigger dogs &/or stubborn breeds!

  • My border collie blows me away with her recall. She can be mischase of a critter and if I yell for her she stops dead and comes back to me every time without fail. It's not even something I tried to train her, border collies are just freaking amazing

  • Great advice. How do you handle a dog who is doing something bad but who then comes to you? How do you balance getting the message that they shouldn't have been doing what they were doing but also "thank you for coming back to me."

  • Question from the US. What is the current situation on the bully ban going on in the UK? My wife and I saw some TikTok’s complaining about it but I want to get the actual details of the issue. Please and thank you in advance.

    @Travissaur@Travissaur6 ай бұрын
    • Answer from the UK: They are banning the XL Bully breed, any one that currently owns one must abide by a set of rules. Never off leash, and always muzzled. They must be neutered, and the sale or breeding of the dog is against the law. They are also offering £200 compensation if you get your XL bully euthanised. Whole situation is grim.

    • @@erraticjoe499 what breeds fall under XL Bully? Also do you think this could lead to other “aggressive” breeds being banned as well?

  • Are there certain breeds with certain characteristics where you shouldn't expect too much? For example I have a border terrier who has. A very high prey drive. She has a really good recall now thanks to your videos. However, all of that goes out of the window when she sees a squirrel. If she's off the lead, it seems no amount of whistles or treats will bring her back. She does come back but always in her own time. Gets rather embarrassing calling and whistling a dog that just isn't interested.

    • Try a very high value reward like hot dogs or chicken. Also best to train when they are hungry so try using thier meal as a reward even. You don't have to use thier whole meal just train for like 5 min. End on a positive note like when they come then lots of praise and give rest of bowl. I've got a stubborn 8 mnth old boxer I've been using these techniques on and yeah its a slow process but he is getting it. Hope that helps 😊

    • @@absuredangelThanks for the tip👍🏻 I have a 6 month old border collie/heeler/catahoula that had great recall at 8 weeks old but now only comes to me if he feels like it. He thinks it's a game and runs. I think he wants me to chase him. Also, sometimes when I try to put him outside to potty or just want him to follow me into a room, he throws himself down on the ground, flips on his back and kicks at me if I try to get him on his feet. He thinks everything is a game. He's super smart but stubborn as hell😜
