These vignettes I think capture the human element of war. And any body who has ever served can understand the raw emotions in battlefield decisions protecting your buddies or carrying out your orders to the detriment of your men tough choices.

I just came across your film here and I have to say it is Great!
Dang that grin at the end when he showed them the grenade :0)
Well, you heard all of the critics and nit-pickers, but I enjoyed this very much. The look on that boys face at the very end when he pulled the pin was a nice bit of acting! Bravo.
Hearing a lot of Oscar buzz for the absolutely jaw dropping tour-de-force performances portrayed by these young actors- nay- Artists! It was like I was watching Pacino, Karloff, Brando, Deniro or Hoffman! Two toes up! Bravo! Bravo!!
You ARE being facetious, right?
.
This is absolutely first rate. Great film.
Well done! Reminds you how young the combatants on both sides were, should have been in their first job or in college. So sad.
You have got it Don spot on, just pure entertainment
These are the cleanest-looking squad I've ever seen!
17:50: main thing to keep the helmet on while dying!
I really enjoy this short film and I like how it ended in a bang.
All the battle dresses are very clean and perfectly ironed !
3:36 the bullets not go in the machine gun when he shooting hahahaha
Hair cuts wrong style.. No unit & rank patches.. Helmet liner wrong style..Also too new.. Helmets never secured to chin. Were they all sharpshooters and would hit targets on first shot?
Nice! One of the best ww2 short movies I've seen.
Excellent work all around! Congratulations.
That BAR is a beast!
He could’ve used a couple of advisers: one for history and another for small unit tactics.
😢😮😮😊
This was like watching a movie I really enjoyed the uniforms guns and all of the others little things
Absolutely awesome great short film
amazing , simply amazing my friend !
Oh I LOVED this one
this is an amazing film it's really quite something.
Well done guys but you have love the antique 1990s to 2000 automobiles near the barn.
Really good work man!
Some times the shorts films are better the USA films...simply great!!!
+jaime recinos yea
This is a "USA" film. Listen to the American accents on the Germans.
👏 great short film! Almost cried when Johnson died. Keep it up!
Wow! Very good. Whoever let you use the props must be a really nice guy.
Could of been a lady who owns the guns XD in a alternate reality where sarah palin was our president
at 14:19 one of the German soldier fires his KAR98 with the bolt handle open...in real life that could of gone 2 ways
Better effects than some others
In a lot of scenes real soldiers wouldn't move that way...but let the kids play... greetings from germany

Love the music at the end
Rivetting !! A cinematic masterpiece. Landmark performances and incredibly well turned out soldiers for foxhole living - they must have carried their own washers, dryers and dry cleaners, not to mention bath houses for daily use. Innovative, they must have been.
Well, you know, everything is miniaturized these days so carrying them was no problem.
Why don’t you go make your own film, jerkoff?
@@NaturalistCapitalist Why don't you take a nice long walk off a short pier ?? You are a classic example of what happens when two cousins fuck !!
Is that what your wife’s boyfriend told you?
@@NaturalistCapitalist Ist nicht have ein frau. I get it from yours. And she's terrible; all teeth and hair.
How old is the captain 59
How do you add your visual effects to your original video clips? I'd love to know, because I am just getting started in making short films.
I have a question. Guy on the left in 11:15 have british airborne helmet?
Overall enjoyable. Just a few minor quips. Why wasn’t the BAR firing full auto. The model issued in WW2 had fast auto fire and slow auto fire. In the field soldiers did away with the bipod to shave weight and because it was at odds with the weapon’s purpose of walking fire. The approach to the objective was a little amateurish. But cinematography was excellent. Acting was great especially assuming these folks aren’t pros. Uniforms were outstanding too. It passed so quick it didn’t seem like 20 minutes. A solid 4/5.
The low stone wall where Johnson ended up, I think they should have deployed behind it for cover not in front of it out in the open. The Hollywood 'stay with me, stay awake, don't you dare die' trope was not the way people spoke back during the ww2 era, perhaps watch some movies made around that time to get a better feel. One of the most memorable casualty lines was from a war film was 'Too Late the Hero' when one of a British patrol trod on a mine and was blown to pieces, actor Michael Cain commented with perfect sardonic delivery "I suppose you could say... that private Smith has us surrounded". Good effort.
Lee Wardle
It was a pretty decent short! But tactical study is a must. When walking in a formation like thru the Forest on the dirt path. the weapons should be pointed outward. Always have 5 meters between bodies and always step lightly, never shuffle feet. Stick to the treeline and not out in the plain open.
Only soldier apparently has a grenade? In previous episodes , I have seen a caption leading a platoon ? There uniforms appear brand new. But it is a very good episode. MY father fought in Europa. He very ever spoke of it. He mentioned once spoke of it. He said that the German soldiers were very good. For the betterment of mankind No more. WAR😐✌

@@michaelmorris2243nice though but we as a species aren't going too stop makeing war bruh it's a part of our dna
Was waitin' for the sound of the "Cha - Ching" of the clip to eject from the Gerrand at the 8th round.
URIAH HELSINGER ......I remember that sound......classic.
The German lines sound like taken from Day of Defeat: Source :)
Oh god I love this, oh god.
Never give up u are great director
The Thompson was an open bolt fired weapon, when he reloaded after taking out the nest, he should have pulled the charging handle to the rear only.
The Thompson bolt remains to the rear at end of firing unless you shoot till empty a drum mag. Then will it close. Stick mag=open after last shot, mag empty or not. This being an M1 Thompson, it's stick mags only.
good job :) Greetings from Germany
+ParaLight WorX Danke mein freund! I'm glad you enjoyed the film. I took a lot of inspiration from your own short films. I have watched many of them, actually. Keep up the good work!
Benjamin Pollari where u get your props?
from me

@SigneN-Formaldehyd-Planteøstrogen-Soja#1-dræ' .
Nothing like a good "out of the box" reenactor movie. Lol
That one soldier loading his Garand was risking M-1 thumb. Sadly, that is how the M-1 manual, issued in 1943, demonstrated it.
Sadly, your use, of commas, is, poor.
Actually, no it isn't.

This short film was really well done! Top-notch acting and attention to detail. I'm proud to have loaned my camera so that it could be made :-)
keep up the good work,,perfection comes with practice, attention to the finest detail in props makes the difference..
.Mg42. High rate of fire but my God that barrel was cooking! Crew served weapon that necessitated the other members to carry large amounts of ammo! Before my time but have fired the M60 US and Cambodian Chi Com light MG 7.62
I was listening to an interview of a survivor of D day earlier and he talked about waiting for them to have to change barrels to move.

wow, this was amazing
Hi. I just discover this short film thanks to KZhead. There is a true talent as a filmmaker ! Good film editing, many angled of view, real guns firing... Well done ! And there is some talent in these actors, no joking (see what they do in Europe, UK...). More cinematographic than a perfect historical reconstitution : m1 helmet model 1950 (metallic attach), brand new uniforms (as usual), limited military terms, german language to improve, some current made cars in the background ?! . Too vibrant colors perhaps. And no vehicles ? Not so easy to find in U.S. , I know. But there is some talent here. A new S.Spielberg ? He started with a 8mm camera, so what we could do with such new digital equipments... You know what to do next time ! 😉
14:20 when the girlfriend insists on being cast
Really cool but it helps when you make the uniforms and weapons look a little beaten up, just gives it a war vibe. 👍
I saw that one dude had a 26 infantry division patch on? Are you guys 26yd reenactors?
Make more that was sooooooo goooooood
Willard is my favorite character
Mind blowing
I love how the characters are real life Medal of Honor recipients in World War ll
1:56 it would have made more sense to have that old fella be the squad lead, since, ya know, He looks like He may have served in the 1st world war...
This is awesome!
The main problem I have with this video is the visibility of the enemy. In all cases, soldiers will present a small or invisible target. If you are visible to the enemy, you will be shot. Always use cover and the lay of the land to obscure your movements and positions. Once you have fired your weapon a few rounds, move to a new position, if only by a few feet. Create uncertainty for the enemy. Stealth is a soldier's friend. In this video, soldiers present themselves as highly visible targets. In reality, both sides played an intense game of hide-and-seek-and-destroy. A structure is bait. A house or a barn is merely a lure to draw attention and fire. An MG position may also be bait. Any time a weapon is fired, a position is revealed. Firing it may serve to draw attention. If you don't think that the enemy hasn't anticipated your every move, you aren't thinking. If you aren't thinking, you're dying.
You clearly been out there
Las municiones las colocan al reves ,cuando cargan la mg 42
Well done .... I really liked your film ......... I see you are from New Hampshire ..... I am from Michigan ........as a film maker myself, I always like to see the "Making of" type of video ... do you have such a video ? I am working a a anthology of WW2 short films , it currently has a working title of "Ghost Stories of WW2" ...... they are not really horror films, more so stories of Angels and other "spiritual" things .... would love to share them with you when I am done ....... You did a good job on this film .... what effects program did you use ?

Very nice movie. Congratulations. Nice job. I liked.

My great-great-grandfather Matthias Schafer was best friends with Karl Marx at Kaiser Wilhelm Gymnasium in Trier. I need to go there.
Come on, man. I miss the cheesy soundtrack of "Combat!" LOL
He got his damn promotion alright. Rest in peace Sarge.
very nicely done lads, very nice indeed.
Excellent story. Good job.
Wow, guys that was awesome.
If that realistically depicted US infantry tactics, then it's a wonder they could even win a chook raffle let alone a fucking military campaign.
Have you ever seen anyone make as much noise traversing terrain? And did you see the guy loading the Garand? WTF?
Awesome movie! I would have had a grenade in each hand. That grin he had on his face was priceless. Oh yeah, that B.A.R. looked like it was too big for that little guy. I bet that thing is heavy as fuck! Again, that ending made my day. Do more! Please. ...lol...
Nicely done for a home made movie But my issue is a German MG gunner would have a Squad of about 13 riflemen As the rifle squad protects the Mg team As the rifle men also carry enough ammo to support But anyway we'll put together and thank you for your efforts as I enjoyed what you have done.
Never leave the tree line
Just some tips: 1. Study real tactics. A lone MG in the middle of nowhere is not believable. Standing up on a ridge above a destroyed MG nest and waving without checking the surroundings is suicide. Talking can be done without standing up, in cover. Approaching a reported enemy position unsupported through open ground on the side with almost certain MGs and snipers is what would have gotten Johnson (and everyone) killed, not his standing up and getting even more exposed. All these scenes can take place in a bush while still allowing a nice camera shot through the bush. 2. Fresh recruits are fresh recruits but they have recieved basic training, which is more than the people representing them have - no need for additional greenness. Always look like you know what you're doing. Practice often and in the period-correct way. 3. If the M1 feels too heavy for your left arm, it's because it is. That's what the strap is for. And physical fitness.
Btw the BAR is not single shot weapon it is fully automatic
Awesome film
Very good. Thank you.
Hitler's Zipper, the MG42. Bbbrrrrrrrrrrrttt !! 1000 rounds gone 😂 Enjoyed this film. 👍
I hate to be one of the nitpickers, but a replacement (presumably having just finished basic training) with a full beard? Was he one of the Dirty Dozen? Anyway, thanks for not disabling comments by now.

Mason Murphy This is the Western Front..

Fine work guys!
Kept my interest. I'd pay to see the movie.
Damn I never knew that the dry cleaning service delivered freshly pressed brand spanking new uniforms front line soldiers who been fighting for a number of days already. Yeah action sequences were not well choreographed and the discussions felt like the troops were talking to one another but practising their lines for a play and it’s much more improvement
Congrats!!! Nice film.
And this is why infantry don't cross open kill zones. Especially in a gaggle
Cleanest uniforms I have ever seen
17:43 no magazine on his pistol and does fire.
Damn good ! Even Fury wasn't perfect !
All the uniforms are soooo nice and clean, no heads on pivot's out in the open no dirt???????
