  • As much as I love this movie, but as a Historian I have to facepalm. First of all the Germans never would have shot at Italian civilians on purpose since the Italians were still considered allies since Mussolini was still there in the northern part of Italy. And second the Germans had a high fire disciplin, they wouldn't shoot around wildly hoping to hit something. But that is in most ww2 movies wrong. Still love it though. Also sorry for my bad english.

  • The battle scene was shot in the little village of Colognora, in the Tuscany region in Italy: it's an interesting place, with few dozens of inhabitants... everyone can tell you everything about the movie. • Fun fact: President Grant wanted to desegregate the US army in the 1870s. He was stopped on the basis of the colored regiments having the highest morale, and the then Secretary of War stated that diluting their ranks with white men would lower their morale (at the time the US army had a near 30% desertion rate across the frontier outposts per year, but the colored regiments had a less than 5%). Later in the Spanish War, it was brought up again, but stopped due to the belief that people of African Decent had immunity to most tropical diseases (obviously they were wrong but 1800s science is 1800s science). Finally, Woodrow Wilson screwed up the whole nation by Federalizing the Jim Crow laws.

  • This is a brutal scene to watch. Not because of why you think but because of the inacuracies, the abismal tactics shown of both germans and Americans. I mean the germans on roofs with a arch would not climb to the open position on the roof to fire, the Americans would not worry about Italian civilians when they are under fire, that you worry about after the fact or at most you tell them to run or direct them where to hide. The big american holding the child, his backpack is inaccurate for the period, GI's didn't carry a large rucksack, they had a medium one.

    • Civilians didn't even have to be talking with enemy soldiers in order for the Germans to shoot at them, especially towards the end of the war when it was plain they were losing. I love their uniforms, weapons, tactics, tanks, etc, but the Germans were not good guys by any stretch of the imagination. There are plenty of instances of them killing civilians with little to no justification or provocation.

    • Well , it is a movie , but you need to take into consideration that according to the movie logic the germans are retreating from all the area therefore no german soldier would threaten the black soldier life . The german officer gave a lugger pistol to the black American soldier as a sign of respect for his bravery and compassion taking care of the kid and civilians. This particular german officer wasn't a evil nazi , but a army officer serving Germany. Also the black American soldier injured could be easy pick by thieves , scavengers, looters ,partisans or random civilians. Wars of total destruction are cruel and the most unexpected people could be a threat for yourself if you are disarmed and injured . All of this following the movie logic of course.

After all , not all the germans who fought the war were crazy evil fanatic nazis ; a lot of them fought thinking that they were doing it for the wellbeing of Germany and its people .

There were many instances of Wehrmacht killing civilians especially on the eastern front. But it’s sad that German soldiers are always shown this way. • The movie is Miracle at St Anna and the plot was centered around the boy, the statue head, and the big guy. After a disastrous offensive most of these guy's company killed or wounded and these four moved deeper into enemy territory. The big guy PVT Train found the boy in a barn and saved him. They got really attached. It was later revealed the boy was the sole survivor of a Nazi massacre in the town of St Anna. An SS private went rouge to save him but was captured by Italian resistance fighters. Later on SSGT Stamps and his squad made contact with their commander and were ordered to take a german prisoner. And after they got the prisoner from the partizans the captain came to get them but there was a mole in the town that killed the prisoner and a fight broke out between the captain and Train over the boy. The Captain threatened them all with court marshal and as they were leaving this scene happened. The statue head's relevance to the story was that Train found it in the gutter when they were Florence, Italy. The movie starts in the 80's when the radio guy in this scene (i forgot his name) came face to face with the mole and shot him in the post office. After his arrest they found the statue in his closet. A journalist came to interview him and he told the story of how he came into possession of the head. It's a surprising good movie if a bit historically inaccurate.

  • So hot. At 1:14 to 1:24 the Germans believed they were in a safe position on the roofs. But unfortunately it wasn't like that. One by one they were shot down with machine gun bullets on the roofs. On the roofs they hardly had a good grip in their boots. Shortly after the bullets penetrated their uniforms, they flinched. Many of them will remain lying there and will not be recovered. If one was lucky, it rolled down the roof and hit the streets. This unit was even equipped with leather MP40 magazine pouches. But the hard black leather didn't protect her from death either. At 2:32 these young, beautiful German boot soldiers arrived. Just look at her iron will. 2:40 The two bravest who advanced were rewarded with bullets. Your life was redeemed in 2 seconds with the heroic death. They only tremble and wriggle as they pick up their cargo. Just beautiful. And again the hot situation at 2:42 where their followers have to climb over their dead comrades to attack again. Again 2 brave men at 3:38 who do not fear certain death. Whether it takes 2 seconds or 2 minutes? They don't know either. You only feel it when your legs and boots suddenly become heavy. At 4:21 the full elegance and eroticism of war is revealed. Like a dance, this brave German soldier in boots aspires to certain death. He knows exactly. His squeezed fresh blood spreads all over the square like fireworks, as if to say, look, I'm the chosen one. How erotic is his dance of death on the floor until he spreads his slender legs to say it's the end of me. Look at me, I died bravely for this beautiful uniform. It's lying there, you just have to drag it away into the next basement. Then he is only yours. You can have everything from him, his equipment is yours. 4:25, Congratulations!. At 4:26, another try in his fine leather boots. He doesn't get far. Unfortunately dead again. He comes down the stairs in reverse gear. Too bad his boots get totally scratched, 4:29. His twitching on the stairs is just tremendous. This iron will of the soldiers from 4:38, just great. 5:17, 4 pairs of boots available immediately. Undress quickly, otherwise it will be too late. The leather is still warm. Now 6:05 an absolute eye-catcher. Her noble boots still have calf buckles at the top of the shaft. Only better units could afford that. It's a pity about the dead bodies, which can only roll down the stairs, right at the feet of the charging fresh soldiers. Here, too, their equipment is put to the test. Can your hot black leather MP40 magazine pouches withstand the falls? What a shame. So many soldiers and equipment, all for nothing. What a great movie. Thank you.

    • This is so hot to read mate, and I am so mega turned-on by your review!!!! Yes, it was like shooting ducks in a funfair the way those troops were shot down off their perch on the roof. Nice jerks as they were shot and down they crashed to the ground below, picked off with ease. Like you say, superb as those boots are, you cannot get a firm grip on the tiles of a townhouse like this wearing them. The MP40 pouches are sturdy but not bullet proof of course and even they were cut through by the enemy slugs that ripped into the tight bellies and chests of the soldiers in grey. It is a sight to "stiffen" one's resolve for sure at 2:32 and not least when that pair were riddled at 2:40. So brave, and so gallant as they took their load with aplomb, not least the lead soldier who gapes open mouthed and jerks as bullets shred his uniform and rip into his body. Their kameraden will not let their heroic death go unavenged and retribution is soon meted out to their killer, who does not even wear a uniform. 4:21 is indeed a perfect kill, a fine soldier fighting for his cause but cut down in the prime of life. He lingers for a few seconds and twitches, clinging to life for as long as he can, but death is inevitable and the lights go out for him for ever. It's a shame about those boots worn at 4:29 but for some this is the price to pay for the cause, and he fought and died with honour. Those troops on the trot from 4:34 to 4:46 are just so "hard" to watch, and these men are true soldiers, the toughest and best you can find. Real men! And what about 5:17, four men machine gunned and cut down as one? So hot, and surely among those 4 pairs of boots at least one will fit?! 6:05 is the best bit for me, and perhaps that could be you and I taking that delivery of hot lead from that chattering Tommy Gun? One second proud and erect as we go into action, the next our bodies riddled and jerking, legs buckling as weapons are dropped from numbing fingers and down the steps we roll into the oncoming feet of our kameraden, at least one of whom takes the same hot load as we did? A real soldier's death! Many thanks again for a great comment my friend. You have done me proud here, and I am so pleased you enjoyed this one so much!

    • And also in your film, like in Hornet's Nest, we have children and fighters who don't wear uniforms and leather boots. It's so sad and devastating to me when people like this shoot up uniformed soldiers. It really should be banned. The German soldiers were equipped with expensive equipment and the best high leather boots. Steel helmets, leather gear, etc. For what? to be shot down by rabble without uniform. It's a real shame. At that time, a German Wehrmacht uniform cost around 2,000 Reichsmarks. The studded boots alone cost the equivalent of 450 euros today. So much money and equipment destroyed, bled to death or shredded in a few seconds in the dirt and fields. I cry.

    • @@stiefelimkriegbootsinwar8040 I agree with you totally. It should ideally be a uniformed man v another uniformed man, warrior v warrior, and may the best man win. There is a reason that the German WW2 uniform is so iconic and even now, more than 80 years after the start of WW2, it is still one of the most erotic uniforms in history (for me it is THE most erotic!) and it still resonates to this day in its power and symbolism. The early war uniforms especially so. There are times when commandos on a raid were out of uniform and that is acceptable as they are still military men. But children, no. Although in 'Hornets Nest' those kids did have a reason for their revenge, avenging the deaths of their families. But it would have been better to leave the killing of the enemy to other soldiers. Children should not be seen or heard in war movies! I do sometimes like to see women taking on powerful, handsome German soldiers, like the girl in 'Where Eagles Dare'. She fights like a man and kills many soldiers - what a tragedy for them, such shame. But for the best results and experience it should be man v man, uniform v uniform, weapon v weapon. And the winner gets the boots of the enemy to keep!

    • yeah how right you are The dead soldiers' boots as a trophy. This has also been done in past wars. In addition to the weapons, the high leather boots of the German Wehrmacht are the most expensive but also the most erotic item of German equipment. The Russians had the higher boots, but the quality, the hard leather, the robustness and the shine of the shafts of the Wehrmacht boots was unique. That's why they were so popular on the battlefields. In Russian war films you often saw soldiers taking off their beautiful boots from the fallen German soldiers to wear them themselves or to sell them for a lot of money. This is also the reason why well-preserved German boots are still available today. The German Wehrmacht also made an effort to equip their young soldiers with well-fitting boots. they should be proud to fall in them. The Germans' boots fit so well and tightly that the enemies had trouble with them undress And as you describe well, the German uniform is still horny to this day. The shape of the steel helmets, the cut of the blouse, the black bullet pockets or the good-looking MP40 magazine pouches, the black leather basic carrying frame, the gas mask canister, the leather boots.....everything extremely erotic.... What could be nicer to look at than 2 soldiers standing face to face in high black leather boots, man to man, from uniform to uniform and shooting bullets into each other's tunics. A long trembling of her legs and boots, then they both collapse, broken and covered in blood. Ready to collect them and bury them in the dirt.@@foreverblueclassics

    • @@stiefelimkriegbootsinwar8040 The boots and the helmet are the most iconic part of the German uniform from WW2, but the Feldbluse comes close too. It was basically a "walking out" style uniform, yet it was worn in battle also and wearing it must have made those soldiers feel almost unbeatable, in conjunction with the boots and helmet. If worn correctly the body will fit into it like a hand in a glove, and it looks immaculate - even in combat, when dirty and soiled. It is no wonder so many "trophies" were taken from the battlefield by the opposition as their uniforms could not compete. The American uniforms were quite good but the British and Soviet ones looked shabby in comparison (I am speaking of the army here, the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy were very smart) and the weapons were also much better, not least the MP40 - one of the most iconic weapons in history. Here the Allies had good equivalents - the Tommy Gun and Grease Gun (M3) for the Americans, the PPSH-41 on the Russian side and the Sten for the British (not such a good weapon) - but there is something special about the MP40. Put all of these components together and you have the perfect fighting man. Strong and powerful, and literally dressed to kill! The image you paint of two soldiers face to face pumping bullets into each other's tunics is so damn hot! Perhaps they could aim at the breast pockets (I always think they make a nice target!) then each of them pumps bullets into the other, both men jerking and gyrating to the impacts till they can take no more, crashing to the floor bloodied and broken, but fighters to the end - as all good soldiers should end if they have to die.
