Rise of the Reds or ROTR for short is a massive mod for Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour.
The mod adds 2 brand new factions, the frontal breakthrough focused Russian Federation and the defense-oriented European Continental Alliance or ECA for short.
The mod also vastly revamps the original factions, giving them new units, buildings, upgrades, and more!
Other improvements include a focus on army diversity, a new 2-tier tech system, amphibious capabilities, and more!
Today we will be comparing each faction's basic infantry. These soldiers are the backbones of all 5 factions.
We will be covering their training aspects, weapons, abilities, speed, combat, and more!
I plan on doing more of these for other General's Mods and more units from ROTR.

Of Course Rangers are the best when faced off against the others (not the most cost efficient nor versatile tho). Despite being their "basic" infantry, Rangers are still special forces. Heck, they even remind the player in one of their quotes saying. "Special forces here" and "Army's elite" when selected.
The conscripts are read as the best and universal

Conscripts are worse than rebels. If you think about it this way, it's a bit illogical. Because Russia, as it were, trains them and conducts KMB (Kurs molodogo boyca), and the Rebels are just a peasants who took weapons and, God forbid, know how to use them.
@@user-xg6pi9gx3g Rebels at least have morale and are eager to fight, not to mention being better supplied (weirdly enough) because of the GLA's extensive black market network. While conscripts are just drafted civilians who doesn't wanna be in the field to begin with while having little training (I mean, you can even see in the model of the GLA barracks, they have like a small training course unlike the Russian or any other faction's barracks), not to mention their weapons are just hand me downs and rusted AK's.

Although if they have such problems at the front (according to lore), then this explains everything. And regarding morality, isn't propaganda so strong (on lore) that people almost voluntarily go to the front without anything?
I like how every factions counterparts have special abilities on them, all make them unique.
It's what makes the Command and Conquer franchise so special in my opinion. All the factions feel unique and special

Definitely! Top them off with the Starstreak missile launcher and they're incredible.

ECA is a faction that relies on reaching the end game, and has one of the most powerful field powers a commander can have. Venom protocol literally turns ECA into an Infantry Onslaught faction that spams Felins, Panzerfausts, and medics backed up by Venoms, while Jäger sabotages the enemy's base. Manticore Protocol turns ECA into a defensive tank wall faction, bringing out drones that nullify enemy targeting on tanks around it, and the presence of the Manticore tank alone is very terrifying as it is able to tank golem tanks with ease and heal 3000 HP without even its veterancy. Pandora protocol turns ECA into a superweapon general, adding a neutron bomb railgun tank to their arsenal that can easily destroy defenses and lay deadly traps that completely wipes out enemy forces in a single trigger, but not only that, because it also improves some of the ECA general's support powers, changing smokes into nerve gas and the smart bomb even stronger than before.
I just realized that RotR Rebels are basically RA3 Conscripts, no idea why you needed to know this

If you zoom in on the model of an ECA fighter, you can see that his weapon is somewhat similar to the G-11, but when they fire, it seemed to me that the magazine and receiver were from P-90, and barrel from G-11 .

Especially since they actually carry the AK-74, either a typo or an oversight.
Conscript is the best unit, just riding them on anything and upgrading the nvg is useful.
I like the fact that Russian infantry can take care of themselves (not only conscripts), you just need to give them first aid kits and not worry about their HP.

This is amazing! I love this. You earned yourself a subscriber, Commander! Suggestion: Compare all 5 of the faction's power generators (E.g: Cold Fusion vs Nuclear Reactor vs Solar Reactor vs Coal Power Plant. Also I meant 4 since the GLA buildings don't require energy)
They have a special feature afaik That capturing an enemy power plant speeds up unit production by a fix percentage

@@forickgrimaldus8301 Actually, as far as I know, though feel free to correct me on this, the majority of the rifles the Old Union exported to countries all over the world weren't 74s, but rather the AK, which was a minor improvement over the 47.

Rise of the Reds is better than Generals 2, in my opinion. Infact it should be the appropriate sequel. I like seeing the EU being reformed to a better version of it and have Russia being a faction in this game as the new main antagonist (since the GLA is now reduced to Central Africa, preferably DR Congo)

Fam, can you do a video comparison of all light AA units
The mod is cool, just like the Shockwave mod. But unfortunately the developers really like to stray in that territory of making units unique and flashy. Which gameplay wise just adds unnecessary complexity. As cool as it is, more doesn’t translate to better. The game would benefit more from improvements in unit behavior, like prioritizing different unit types when attacking or automatically using the most effective weapon for the right situations. Of course both mods are still exceptionally well made and add a lot of depth to the game.

please can anyone tell me how to buy cnc generals digitally as well as cnc4 im tryna recover those rts games but the only ones i managed to find were cnc3 red alert and cnc3 KW on steam CNC 4 appears on the origin store but the buy button is bugged and does nothing...
The only way was purchasing the Ultimate Collection thru Origin. EA however is scrapping Origin for its new EA App. It should be on the new EA app but they are in the middle of porting everything over, so it might be incomplete currently. If this is an option, I would recommend looking for a used copy of The First Decade. It has all the C&C's you're looking for without the hassle of dealing with EA's new software.

Before they got a voice actor to record lines for the conscript, the mod used voice files from Red Alert 3. Same goes for the Sentinel Tank, which used lines from the Apocalypse tank.

European faction has the most cringe. Like every units needs to have an over exaggerated voice to clearly tell you what country they're from. Edit: if you didn't know, the music comes from the game Freedom Fighters for the PS2. Such a good game and I wished they had a sequel.
Well you aren't going to find the best voice actors when you're a modder, unless you're a good voice actor yourself.
It's exaggerated voice is what makes the ECA so great

Author, for you, any machine gun that looks like an AK is an AK-47? If the homeless from the GLA may still have these same 47s, then in the Russian army to find the AK of the 47 sample (although actually the 49th year, because the 47 sample did not pass the competition and was sent for revision, which in 49th and finished), you will have to try hard, because they are all on in storage, or sold to neighboring countries (and those have already sold them to some kind of whips themselves, or, again, they have been mothballed).The RA soldiers themselves armed with an AK-74s even since Soviet times. Hell, even on the ROTR Fandom wiki for people like you, it says that Russian conscripts are armed with AK-74! * AK-74*, Karl!
