Extremely Rusty Dragoon Saber Restoration
In this video I want to show the restoration of the Model 1881 Russian Dragoon saber. To be more exact, what is left of it. Perhaps this sabre was broken and it was resharpened and then made into a kind of bayonet knife. This saber was found in trenches on the battlefield of World War II. At first I thought it was a Soviet Model 1927 saber, but during restoration I realized it was not. I had some parts and decided to restore this saber. The purpose of this restoration is to recreate as accurately as possible the appearance of the saber as it was a hundred years ago.

The goal of this restoration is to recreate as accurately as possible the appearance of the saber as it was a hundred years ago and to leave traces of time, rather than to create a new thing.
Magnificent. keeping its history and restoring its former glory that's how it should be done keep up the great work.
I'm interested in knowing why you put the bluing on, and then scrubbed it all off?
Love the restoration, KZhead suggested you. I would add that when multidiping your acid then base then I would use distilled water then back to the acid. It will keep the acid "fresh" and useful longer.
Actually I think you'll find this is an officers infantry sabre. Many people do not realise there were two basic types of sabre. The longer curved type where a portion of the back from the point was sharpend was designed to be used from horseback and was used by cavalry. The sabre you have restored does not seem to be damaged with respect to the blade itself although the tang has been broken, It appears instead to be the shorter "infantry pattern" straight bladed sabre carried by officers in infantry regiments.
Whatever it turns out to be it is certainly not a cavalry sable yes
This is actually a sabre to cut some bread and salami
The coincidence of KZhead, I did not knew tour channel until this video and this restoration shows a Russian Empire sword, the exact one my story project's main character would have :)

Outstanding!! The skill levels of some people continue to amaze me. A true artist in every sense of the word. Great video.
Thanks bro!
god these videos are so sick, how did you learn how to restore stuff originally? are there any tutorials you recommend for beginners?
For what you have done, it looks amazing.
Does that mean he doesn't know what he's doing?
@@hectoralonzo7909 Exactly! This is not restoration, sabre was killed during those "restoration".
@@pandr7036 That's a fact. A death did occur it this video. He should be brought up on charges immediately!!!
Nicely done looks amazing 👏
Excelente restauración, tienes unas piezas originales magnificas 👌🏻, enhorabuena.
I like this restoration trick..simple and antique item👍👍😍😍
Excellent restoration fella, looks cool.
very good at restoring rusty swords, thank you and always healthy 🙏 greetings from Indonesia
wow. amazing. great result
Looks great as always I always love your content keep it up 👍
Thanks bro!
Very nice looking wall hanger. Just don't do any test cutting, that surface weld of the tang is likely to snap even on cheep 16 ounce water bottles.
I've literally done this too. Snapped right off, it was brittle with the high carbon steel.
Good job!
interesting project, perfect restoration👍👍👍
Beautiful
What is the history of the sabre incredible!
Amazing 👍👍
Nice Work
well done!
Wonderful
Those rusty craters have not been repaired yet.
Very cool project 👍👍👍🤘🙂
Excellent 👍👍
I like how you just cleaned it up.And the fact that there was almost no rust.
Infinite patience.
That is a really nice one. Thanx. ;0)) Grüßle
When to sand blast, when to electrolite, and when to put in rust remover or vinegar?
Super!👍👍👍
Nice job. You might want to wear gloves when buffing edged weapons... just sayin' (from experience)
When you butt weld to pieces of metal together 45 degree each sie of the metal you will get a stronger weld.
bravo
I’d truly love to buy one of these framed so I could hang it up on my wall
Nice 👍🙏
Nice 👍
Well done. beautiful!
it is relatively small for a cavalry or dragoon sword.
Belo trabalho Agora estou inscrito
Iconic Cavalry symbol
Can Arc Welding blind me online? Bright as hell!
Top.
You even use a very old wrench to take that nut off.
Тhank you
Neden eski sapı kestiniz kılıç zaten sağlamdı merak ettim
M1 helmet restoration soon?
Iam policeman from Indonesian suport your chanel bro 👍
Dragoon? Really, I always thought the Dragoon’s were Napoleons elite Cavalry. This sword however is hardly a Cavalry sword. 😉
dragoons are mounted infantry, thats it
I have one old ancient sword can u restore it
Sweet 👍🏻 👍🏻
what have you done????? the saber destroyed!
No, you're wrong. I gave the saber a second life
@@wwiituberestoration1011 Ruined
Was the blade originally that short ? Mexican American War?
Bravo 👏🇧🇷👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷
Thank you so much!
A halfling saber?
No, I think 30% of the total length is missing
Not nice as i expected. The Blade looks still bad with all the crushes scratches and Holes.
Half way through video world's worst piece of welding
Don't like the pitting still left in the blade.
You destroyed the tang. And put crappy welds on a vital part of the blade. The blade can shoot out through the handle if it breaks. I am very disappointed with this.
Hi
Hi!
Hii sir
Hi!

🌹🇮🇶💛👍👍👍👍🙂
First one
It is not extremely rusted.
This thing has been in the ground for over 70 years. I think I rightly called "extremely rusted"
Not good.
