Hedgehogs barking at each other over food.

These two cute hedgehogs come to the garden every night nearly at the same time each night, they typically arrive together, eat together, roam around the garden together and leave together... yet the larger of the two always barks at the other. I have since learned that the larger is a female warning the smaller male that she isn’t interested in mating. Would be interested to hear other opinions of what is going on.

there was a big fat spider slip away over their food ...omg... lol
Hedgehogs eat insects, so if one of them noticed it they would probably consider it a treat. Plus they are immune to many poisons, as their hemoglobin does not curl up like in humans. As an example, one hedgehog has to get a dose of snake venom that would kill 40 people in order to die.
I listen to my hedgehogs making these funny noises and guessed it was the female saying - go away. I have also seen a hedgehog run straight into anther

steven i got 11 hedgehogs in my ...I had to get second shift of work to be able buy their food ...:)
