Thank you for this. I had my engine rebuilt, and since then, I get an orange oil pressure warning light, and then valve tappet noise. I replaced all of the tappets and the noise persisted. Just bought the tensioner kit, and also the pressure regulator spring. Do I need to take the engine out, or can this be done without removing the engine? Thank you! Mine is 1999 E46 323i (M52TU).

- Thanks for watching. I would say make sure the oil pressure sensor and wiring is working properly. If the oil light is on that is big problems. I would say that needs to be checked properly. The engine doesn’t need to come out but it is a very gin job to do it in the car. You can do it in the car though.

Do you need to remove the vanos/timing cover to get the front plate off?

- Yes, if I remember all the front covers were off at this point.

I used 6.25mm but with m7x1 and now the tap just slides in, wrong size!!
