1970 aar cuda restoration part 3
We got the front fenders header panel truck lid and all the body panels lined up
Next video we will paint the car and put the quarter panels on for the last time
Will it run this Thursday
My dentist is a badass. A puzzle. A automotive. A patience. A cuda badass
Unreal. I'd love to see more of the process of fitting, welding, etc - if you've got time, film more of it! Great work.
And some of the fitment problems could be due to the car pretty well wadded up to start with. This project is truly a "love of labor".
There are lotsa YT videos on the subject, JP. 👍
It’s looking damn good !! Thanks for another , Brother !
It’s really great to see someone that has such a calm and positive attitude these days! This is why I look forward to everyone of your videos! To take basically a hunk of rusted crumbled metal and transform it into what we see now is phenomenal!! Thank you for your hard work bringing your project to life and sharing with all of us!!
I'm coming to realize that's really what any success comes down to, brother - if your goal is clear to you and that you maintain a positive attitude that you never doubt, failing becomes impossible.
the transformation so far is great i hate seeing severely neglected cars
Cuda’s will always be one of the coolest muscle cars made.
Son. I have no idea why people would break your balls and say that it is not an original car. You saved what you could and kept the legacy of the people who manufactured and assembled the car. That is cool and I admire you for that.
Watching you restore this wreck is awsome. This body style has always been my favourite Cuda. Can't wait for the next video!
Just a little advice from someone who has been doing collision repair for 30 years. You should have that car on a frame machine with a set of gauges hung under it to be sure everything is correct. Just because you can get it to fit doesn't mean it's right, the gauges don't lie. You have to square the front and rear sub section to the rails, but the rails have to be right, in order to do that. The only way to check the rails is get it on a machine. If you get the thrust angle off, Which is the imaginary center line of the vehicle , well let's just say , it's not cool. You will end up with what, we used to call a , sidewinder. From behind going down the road it will look as if it's tracking sideways. As you build you will struggle with fitment on about everything too. Just some advice , I have repaired thousands of cars over the last 30 years, picked up a thing or two. , good luck !
Same boat, thinking the same thing. However it's not a route either of us would like, but he could always put it on a frame machine later, pull it into spec and cheat the body panels around it. He's at least in the ballpark or the body panels wouldnt be dropping in so closely.
Also keep in mind as he said in the first video he has the factory frame specs and has been going off them when placing the rails and floors.
Im with Larry on this one. I’ve done a few of these. They come out way better on a frame machine. Even used frame jigs but not as good. Every one that wasn’t done on a frame machine (screwed together) had to be put on a frame machine and welded to be right. Amazing how everything fits together like a jigsaw puzzle when the frame rails, door posts and roof supports are aligned.
@@leonidas953 yes that is correct, you have to have a good foundation to build on. And the best way is to hang some gauges under it.
@@gunners4129 he's struggling a bit , you can force parts in line they look ok, but it will get worse down the line.. the frame specs and measurements are the only way to get it right, and let's also keep in mind that car sustained a hard impact, no way its square withe out proper measuring. A tape measure and levels won't do the job, only a set of suspended guages . I worked on a car once that look perfectly fine upon visual inspection, but once it was suspended on the pinch weld clamps , the passenger side front tire was an inch and a half higher off the frame table than the other side....
AMAZING TO SAY THE LEAST, A REAL LIVE PHOENIX TO RISE FROM THE ASHES!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT SKILLS AND EYE FOR DETAIL!!
Awesome stuff here. I would be so lost trying to do this but you make it look easy. You have mad skills. Looking forward to the next one.
If you like watchin stuff like this you might wanna try watchin youtuber " Dylan McCool "
I have a sneaking suspicion that he’s done this once or twice before…..
@@LetGaiaLive Either way you gota start from some where ...
Great job! Nobody’s ever going to be happy with it being a clone or whatever they wanna call it. At least you’re getting it back on the road.
Fantastic … love seeing you bring back this AAR Cuda
I remember this build! AAR Cuda where the left front lug nut and 1/10 of the floor pan were original. Looking super good! Cant believe you were able to bring it back.
Bringing it back *much* better... ...than your weak trolling attempt... XD
I built up an old tractor once, I started with 3 oil stains on the floor and 2 original wheels L.O.L
Just remember the next time you're walking a car show drooling over the pristine cars, remember they're in the exact same boat.
@@gunners4129 Not always guys did at one point find lots of nicer original cars hidden in barns to restore, they weren't all total wrecks from the bush or 5 rust piles with a vin plate. The guy we bought this farm off still had his original/ complete documented, never wrecked 1 owner early 70's Dodge dart swing in the barn here. Before she died he concourse restored it , so he could tour Canada with his wife who he originally dated in the car when it was brand new .
@@super6954 No doubt. I'm by no means saying all of them. But a surprising amount. I'd bet you that a quarter, if not a third of fully restored cars have had their floors and quarters replaced if not more.
This guy is amazing. I'm loving it.
Master, I learn a lot from you.
I enjoy this type of build video more than the 'can it starts'. More info / detail please! Love it.
I've seen quite a few total loss cars be fixed before. But this'n right here has to be the furthest gone I've ever seen come back to life. I can't believe the progress you've made. Excellent work!
That’s a real resurrection going on here! It’s a blast watching this car re-emerge from scrap to contender. Thanks for the video
I envy your skill and tenacity, great series and look forward to more.
So, as long as you can find the firewall, you can build an entire classic muscle car around it?! Oo amazing.
as long as you can find the vin tag
Phenomenal! Another icon being saved from heading to a recycler or a landfill!!!
No no no it's not saved it's 99 percent child labor Taiwan sheet metal
She's looking awesome can't wait to see her tearing up the back roads 🤠
Looking good brother keep up the good works.
I wish you were my next door neighbor ha, good job young man.
I watched you on tiktok doing this restoration, watching again now, it gets more and more exciting for each panel that goes on. Very cool to get to see a restoration like this. Thank you for all the camera work and capturing it all.
She's looking excellent ! Great job piecing that car back together! Wow!
Hey bro, your an absolute genius to fix this wreck. Outstanding my friend , magnificent. Cheers.
I can already tell she's gonna tear up the roads. Damn awesome job.
I've been checking ur channel this whole time for a cuda update!
Wow, I'm impressed 😊
Use self tapping screws to hold it together. This car is looking like a car again. I cant believe how it looks from the day you first got it.
Now that's what you call rebuilding a vehicle from scratch, I new you could do it, Well done so far😎👍
Amazing transformation. Looking forward to more videos from you. All my best.
I had just about given up on seeing this finished!
i was randomly thinking about your channel yesterday and that car.
I owned a 70 cuda nice cars.
Fantastic work 🇬🇧
Absolutely amazing!
Suggestion: Make a video on fixing that old coach you have!
Damn, it's looking like a car. I can't believe you took scrap metal and are turning it back into a Cuda. I salute you.
Man you have did some magic on the old girl! She is really coming around.Keep up the good work!!
This cuda project has me amazed how a trashed, wasted, left for junk car is getting a new life. You definitely know what your doing ! Got me watching. Thank you
She’s comin’ right around! Just a big puzzle! Nice work & looking forward for More!!! God Bless 😎
Couldn't click this fast enough so excited to see it
This is so crazy watching a practically brand new 1970 Cuda being built in this time. You have WAY more car there now than you started with and it's so exciting seeing it come together. You have such fantastic patience and skill!
Nice work always a challenge because those parts never drop right in place 👍
Dang that is so cool that there is so many quality aftermarket parts to bring that car back to life
and what you have done is great
mad skills brother awesome job
Dude! I’ve been waiting for this episode for a looooong time! The cuda is looking sweet with them new parts! Can’t wait to see more updates videos for this beauty!👌🥰👍thanks for sharing brother!
Looking good. It's like building a giant model car that you can actually play with when you're done. Can't wait until the next video.
I've always wanted a 70 Cuda. It was made the same year I was! 😅
When I saw the first episode where this build started, I said to myself "yeah, sure buddy"......thanks for proving me wrong. You're the man. 👍👍🍺🍺
The jegs sticker... love it
Keep trucking, It’s starting to come back to life
Watching your videos, I had to go grab one of my hats and put it on so that I could take it off to you. This is outstanding.
I saw it when you got it and said NO WAY! Now I think you're a Mopar God.
Thanks for the video, she is slowly coming to life! :-D
I ADMIRE your enthusiasm bud, holy crap!
Incredibly ambitious project! Very cool!
Brother, you’re driven. Awesome work not being intimidated by how much work you’ve got to put in
When you first showed us that wreck I never thought it would ever look this good. I'm impressed. Keep it up brother. Thanks for sharing the progress.
Thanks for the update, you're getting on well for what you started with, I just read your comment about the powertrain. I really hope that trail going cold wasn't when it got scrapped, It would be sad not to have it as part of this cars amazing history and survival battle. Take care.
Will Pilkington What amazing to me are two things. You work alone lining up these parts and second you have to have amazing energy. Keep it up it is a interesting.
Rebuilding a REALLY old car with new parts that are not exactly like the original ones. It's a wonder the parts fit so well. ☮
THAT CAR CAME ALONG WAY FROM THE TIME YOU BROUGHT IT HOME!!!GREAT JOB!!!
As an Aussie I'm so freaking jealous right now, we can hardly get anything replacement panel wise to restore our cars .. your so lucky .
Outstanding work.. Don't let the haters get to you. You made a Cuda out of little more than a coke can.
Awesome episode
Algorithm is killin ya dude. It took me like 10 minutes to find your video after typing in “will it run”. Don’t worry, I sifted through the trash and found you.
Nice Looks Sharp Already
So cool. So happy. Because I've ben looking forward to seeing more videos on this build. Thanks for sharing brother.
I really am enjoying watching you put the car back together you got mad skills
Love this build man. Unbelievable considering what you started with! Can't wait for more will it run videos!
Glad to see your channel blowing up! Been watching for a while now .. can’t wait to see you finish this thing 👌🏼👌🏼
Your patience and lack of cussing is next to saintliness.
Looking pretty slick man. Glad to see it go from basically a ball to almost a full looking Cuda!
In all of automotive history , i think cuda is the best body style !!
That's a wild job dude
dude you are rebuilding the ENTIRE car major respect!!
My father in law has a 92 Ranger, base model, that just died in 2003. It has sat ever since, and I've a mind to get it going. Will first have to evict Mr. Possum under the hood. If you can build a 'Cuda from the ground up, I ought to be able to get this thing running. I'm just amazed, man. Keep it up!
Big respect for the effort 👍
I'm glad you finally uploaded part 3 and it's coming along really well. But please invest in a bluetooth mic, so we can hear you when your away from the camera.
That's looking like fire brother I appreciate you 🙏
I was gonna say this project is like the full-size automotive equivalent of putting together a model kit or Lego set, but some of the pieces are low-quality Chinese knockoff parts and you have to do a lot of cutting sanding and hammering to make the parts fit. However, it's still cool that you're basically assembling a brand new classic car with bits of an original classic car strewn throughout! What's especially nice is that since not much is original, you don't have to worry about preserving a perfect original car, and you can just have fun driving it guilt-free. It's both a real AAR and not original at the same time. I especially hope you can find the engine and transmission for that reason.
I don't recall subscribing to your channel... like whatsoever but....HI! I'm Scott & awesome build you've chosen! 🤘🏼💙🤘🏼
awesome work something wrecked that bad usually had been scraped and crushed by now luckily is being rebuilt very impressive cant wait to see it done
Never listen to anyone who says never..you’re doing great.
Can't wait to see it finished! - I'm British and would never get to see a machine like this
I find it crazy that i found this channel while going through old engine resto videos and of course you just happen to be doing a full rebuild of my dream car.
Glad to see your back the lod Cuda is looking good . Looking forward to seeing the day it does a burn 🔥 out.

I was starting to get worried!!!
Impressive amount of determination and skill!!!
