  • Just want to say thank you for not over exaggerating the steepness of some of these trails…. Have seen some videos (not from yall), where they angle the camera to make it look even worse than they already are. Great video. Come on out to AOAA for some fun!!

    • I did Pritchett this year and the obstacles are way steeper IRL than on camera. Glad I was with an experienced group.

      @GarageGeek@GarageGeek26 күн бұрын
    • @@GarageGeek I’m not saying they aren’t steep, I’ve just seen videos where people make them look almost vertical and you can clearly see people standing straight up on the side of the obstacle that’s being portrayed as steeper than it actually is. I’ve noticed lite brite doesn’t do that, and they show the true steepness of the obstacles.

      @Kyle_osisek@Kyle_osisek26 күн бұрын
    • I do my best to capture the angle of the obstacle without over exaggerated it. ☺️

I wonder if these trails could even be done in manual tranny!? Do you guys ever come across other Jeep enthusiasts doing the level of trails you guys do with manual transmissions?? Just curious. I know the clutch would certainly take a beating. Although sometimes it is nice to have the clutch pedal for bouncing over or navigating certain obstacles.

  • Fun video of my favorite Moab trail for the last 25 years. Just did it again this EJS in a much smaller rig than I had in the past. I almost feel like I had an advantage over the bigger rigs in my tiny rig (31" pizza cutters and 89" wheel base on stock leaf springs) Two in our tiny rig group drove chewy hill clean (the other two fussed a bit like most of yours but drove up), and two drove straight up the stair case at Rocker knocker, much to the surprise of the linked 40" tire crowd. There is no perfect size rig for Moab... They all have fun !!

  • We had the same thing happen to us 3 times when in low gear. Did a shift on its own while in manual and then all the alarms on the Jeep went off. Auto park not available, 4wd not available, service, sway bar disconnect not available etc and could only go into 2nd in manual, said 3rd not available. Lots of TCM, BCM, PCM and ECM errors when we ran the codes. Some said unexpected error. Cleared them and then it would be fine for a few months, then do it again. All the modules are fine. When you shift into Low transfer case it sends communication to PCM that you are in low, which sends a signal to the TCM, if it has a slight brain fart your error will occur. We changed out the Can Bus and have not had the issue again (yet?) The Can Bus communicates with all the different modules on the Jeep and there are a ton of them. One little glitch and all the systems lose their minds. Change your Can Bus and ALWAYS clear your codes if you have any when you run your reader. You can also disconnect the main battery for a 1/2 hour and that has also worked for us. This issue was the main reason we bought a code reader that would clear codes. We also checked for all software upgrades for these modules and the upgrades available did not reference any of the codes we received so did not do any software upgrades.

  • OK Kevin, I've been watching your channel for a minute and created my own "stepchild" along the way. I dropped a 426 right after I watched your YT video. When you installed a 392 steering wheel, I had one installed so I could have paddle shifters too. After your Antigravity video, you get it, I bought one. Anyway, after watching this video it was interesting to me that I have all the same messages on my dash. I guess I'll try to clear all codes and hopefully get rid of service 4 wheel Dr, auto park disabled and hangs in gear. My work around has been my paddle shifters. Any more information on what you did or what might make those 426 gremlins disappear, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks Kevin and Brit

  • The 392 has a system sort of like my Cherokee Trailhawk. To be honest with you I think a V8 swapped regular Wrangler is probably a better setup in terms of durability. I would say get a 392 if someone is going to leave it stock (which sounds completely the opposite to what people would want but I think that's the truth).

    • @@LiteBrite I learned at a young age from running farm and construction equipment, Feet are used to control many things in those environments. Clutch, manual differential lock, steering brakes, loader bucket tilt, loader bucket lift, winches, etc. So driving an automatic that way is second nature, and I do it on the street and off-road every time too. Strangely enough my feet must be trained because when I drive a manual that left foot knows to clutch. BTW, you don't need the dramatic thumbnails. Just a picture of your rig and your beautiful self is quite enough.
