Jeremy, Richard and James are on their way to a classic car event but after important decisions on like which pub to stop at the guys they pour over all of the classic cars! Until Richard finds out that he has a ride on a biplane...

You have to admit, it's surprising Hammond can walk around, considering how big his balls are. Crashed at 370mph, got straight back into supercars after recovering, drove a car with a messed up steering column up death road, drove up a dam, stood on top of a flying plane, drove off a hill at a 100mph and rolled down it, crawled out like a boss and got straight back into supercars again.

Likely not. Hammond often did the risky stuff in the early days of the show, so it does explain it.
Seaghán Pipistrello plus James is legitimately afraid of heights, so he could have had a panic attack and then heart attack. I'm sure it was scripted to have Hammond win or at least he'd have the prize/punishment. Looks like fun to me though

Fred Smith. Get up there and do a wing walk! I've done two wing walks at the very same place as in the video. They really are fun and yes I've done an aerobatic wing walk just like what Hammond did as can be seen on my KZhead channel. There is NOTHING like the view from the top wing looking down on that propeller!
The fact that Clarkson & May were just chatting with the people on the ground, and in the background we see Hammond plane go by goin': "AAAAAHHHHHHH!!" always makes me laugh no matter how many times I watch it.

Carl H there's no possible way his screaming could be heard over the sound of the plane. It was edited in
TheChezziwick. Yes you can hear the people over the sound of the engine. I know that because I have been to that very airfield at Rendcomb in Gloucestershire and done a wingwalk with members of the (now former) Breitling Wing Walk team last week and I could hear other paying customers over the sound of the engine. And you can hear them from quite some distance away too.

This episode aired after the whole debacle started, so just hearing that gave me the chills.
it is weirdly prophetic, but mainly a mere reference to a show called Last of the Summer Wine, which was also about 3 middle-aged men clowning around.
I can't believe they actually strapped Hammond on top of an airplane .🙈😂 Nothing went wrong, of course , but what it had ...😱 their insurance must be out of this world with all the hazards just waiting to happen.
When I first saw this I was like "oh crap". But then again, knowing that Hammond was the one that did risky challenges in the early seasons it was a fun throwback to that.
To be able to hear Hammonds screaming over the roar of a prop and engine going full out and from a distance, Priceless and impressive !

I have flown in the cockpit of a plane like that as student, and it is still very extreme. Being seated outside it is just insane.
I've flown in the cockpit of a bi-plane. We did two loops and one stall turn. However, I have since flown on the top wing and I can tell you that flying on the top wing is the ONLY way to fly! There is NOTHING like it! And yes... I do go upside-down too! Going upside-down is the best bit! All of my flights are there to view on my KZhead channel.

This is why we loved Top Gear with the trio. It was not only about the cars but about the shananigans of the Three Stooges. BBC have taken a huge risk of not taking the three back. Standing on a plane is the ONLY way to travel! Nothing else comes close! There is nothing like the view looking down on that propellor. I've been to this very place and done this as can be seen on my KZhead channel. Unless your name is Richard Hammond and you have the backing of a TV corporation you cannot do the upside-down manoeuvres on your first flight. Go on get up on that top wing!

you talk like top gear had amazing ratings, it had ok viewing figures for a Sunday. Top gear was getting more like a sitcom even the specials had become full of scripted "funny bits" The best specials the USA and Arctic had them but just not as stupid and they were funny.

true. but he didn't beat the guy up, didn't smash his face or anything like that. it all could have ended with tabloids complaining, the producer walking away with a huge cheque which would paid for his grandchildren university and a high level position in other bbc show and Jeremy getting a pay cut for the episode or reduced screen time during the series as punishment. BBC overreacted with not renewing his contract over something so stupid and really harmless.

So, for all those who are saying BBC is illegally making money of the trio. They arn't. Top Gear was not owned by the trio, it was and still is owned by the BBC, thus any and all content made by Top Gear belongs to the BBC and they maintain rights to it. It is also why you have not seen the BBC getting sued. Because they haven't done anything wrong. Yeah, I loved the trio, and still do, and I will support them with whatever new content they release but people gotta stop stomping their feet over something they have no clue about lol.

Clarkson's contract was not renewed. He was NOT fired. And no, they're entitled to use the content THEY own how they see fit. This is what you agree to when you sign a contract for, well, pretty much any job.

Done it 3 times at the same place myself as can be seen on my KZhead channel. I found it to be more fun than scary. Going upside-down is the best bit! Bungee jumping from 160ft was the scariest thing I've ever done! Skydiving from 15,000ft was a doddle compared to bungee jumping! Wingwalking is the best thing I have ever done.
