Today, may the good lord help me, I am taking the Zip 22 out to the range for some shooting.
Note that while it actually worked remarkably well right up until it jammed solid, on the second range trip when we went back to get the high-speed footage, we literally could not get two rounds in a row. We did get a couple neat high-speed malfunctions though...
A big thanks to viewer Matt for generously loaning me the gun to film!
It looks like someone described a P90 to someone who'd never seen a human hand.
At least the P90 has decent 5mm rounds rather than 5.6mm pistol rounds (aside from everything else wrong with it)
The P90 is actually good tho. Zip 22 is pure ass

Hahahahahaha the problem is when everyone's done it and now YOUR TURN.
You can play with other semi autos, but it requires 4-6 of the same gun and a pillow case. Also anyone familiar with the death of George Reeves? Was the actor who played Superman on TV. Died from a gunshot wound to the head. Story is he was playing Russian Roulette with a Luger pistol. Which is strange because he was supposed to be experienced in the game and likely wouldn't make such a rookie move. Main suspect was his girlfriend/ex who was in the room with him at the time of the shooting though charges were never filed.

I love how, right before he goes to take the first shot, instinct takes over and Ian tries to rack a nonexistent slide. I also just noticed the Zip has a bit of Pic rail on the underside, by the trigger guard. So, in theory, you could have a Zip 22 with an underslung Zip 22
Sadly, that'd technically make it more unlikely to actually shoot something
Theoretically you could mount a pic rail on one and a reverse pic rail on another and build a double zip with one upsidedown on top of the other...
@@stephenmartinek8315 and you could mount it backwards too, and then rig a mechanism that ties together the triggers to a string. Then, throw it like a boomerang yo-yo. They'd never see it coming! It's like Russian roulette with truly random odds.

It's the fact that the charging handle is in front of the muzzle for me... I can't believe that went through to production.
It's as if the designer had seen the front grip strap on the MAC M-10, and decided that it was just too safe.
That was my first reaction when I saw one in a gun shop: "WTF is up with the charging rods..?!" I don't know if they managed to sell it, or sent it back to the distributor, but it didn't attract any positive comments that saw.

It's not just a weapon, it's an entertainment system
I don't think you should ever want to hear someone say ;"Its not supposed to do that" when firing a gun.
Happened with a double barrel .410 that my dad bought brand new. Fired perfectly fine for the first five or so shots, but after that the top barrel would fire unreliable. The firing pin wasn't striking the round with enough force to get it to go off, but it would occasionally fire after a delay. So if the that happened you just stood there holding the gun down range for a couple minutes. After the second misfire he sent it back to the manufacturer for a refund or repair. Not sure which exactly
That's actually not something you want to hear about almost anything haha
I tried to shoot a pistol once, and nothing happened. This doesn't sound that bad, but there was a round in the chamber and it didn't make any noise whatsoever, not even a click from the hammer striking. I was scared that there was something wrong with the hammer, and thought it might decide to release itself after I put the gun down. That was the most tense silence I've ever heard in my life. It turns out it wasn't cocked properly, the hammer never locked in the down position.

I'd be offended if someone tried to rob me with that. Lol
Lol that high speed shot of the insane trigger creep, delay in actually firing a round, and the casing bouncing 17 times before it cleared the ejection port is just amazing at showing why this gun absolutely sucks.
It's almost like a P90 but with every problem massively amplified ...aside from the cost of ammo, it probably costs less than a 5.7 magazine lmao
This pistol has the exact functionality of the weapon I get to defend myself in my nightmares.
Just throw it
This thing has less deadlines than those crap Chinese plastic toy guns you bought as a kid. Those things could be used as noisemakers at least
@@bug_stonkin_wess1221 you could do more damage with a super soaker
Usually it’s just my fists in those dreams and they never seem to impact right
I got really anxious when he was pulling the trigger and the gun wasn't firing. It was just like my nightmares.
"It should not be able to do that!" Just the things you want to hear when using firearms.
I've watched this a few times by now; it's just so fascinating, seeing something as bizarre as this gun.
I cringed throughout the range session expecting blood to be drawn at any second. This is truly a "firearm" that deserves to be forgotten.
That slow-mo shot of the casing bouncing off the gun 5 times before finally finding its way out. Absolute perfection.
its like a fucking fly
You may not like it but this is Mechanical Engineering at its peak
And being able to clearly observe a failure to feed
What a shockingly worthless piece of shit this gun is. Combined with the name (suggesting it's a zip gun) I'd be amazed if cocaine and psychopathy wasn't involved in this business decision. It's as bad as the Cobray Street Sweeper and far more useless.
The moment you realise you'd rather take a 16th century matchlock pistol for self defense.
It'd be quicker and more reliable to carry a bunch of those and just switch between them than continue firing this _magazine-fed gun._

if it is to choose colt dragoon or zip 22 i will choose colt dragoon
At very least after you fired your shot you can flip it around and use the matchlock as a club.
I saw this weapon in an FPS game with a bunch of attachments and it barely did anything. I didn’t even know what it was so finding this video was a good surprise
Was it Phantom Forces or Cruelty Squad?
A perfect example of someone trying to reinvent the wheel, and ending up with a far worse result and a lot of wasted effort
It looks like someone made a gun out of an old broken VHS tape. You'll need a VCR as a holster.
I wonder if there's a sign at the sale's counter that says please rewind before you return?
He just needed to adjust the tracking
Atleast the ejection on something would be reliable 🙂
Someone somewhere sees this video: "hold on.. if this is a VHS tape, then the family video I sent to my grandchildren...oh boy"
Nah, a VHS tape would fire more reliably.
3:52 if someone is surprised and says, "ha-hey two rounds in a row!" while firing your gun then you have simply failed.
What if it's got an ammo capacity of one?

you pull this in a self defense situation to make your aggressor laugh hysterically, thus lightening the mood and throwing him off guard.
If you pulled this gun when being mugged, the aggressor would feel sorry and give you his money.
That feeding issue with the tip of the round shearing off as it passes the magazine is a common problem with 10/22 mags. I've found it helps to feed copper jacketed ammo.
Has anyone ever tried shooting it left-handed "gangsta-style" so that gravity can assist the ejecting of a spent case? Now, I'm not saying it'd be a good design if it was designed to be fired that way, my point is maybe it was just never used by anyone with the exact kind of stupid that the designer had.
If you sir existed back when this company was still alive, you could have single-handedly saved them. By using an idea even more stupid than the one that the creator of the gun had. I'm legit impressed not gonna lie
"You're shooting it wrong!" Where have I heard this sentence before? ;)
Holy crap, you’re right
Wow, what would you even call that? That's not recoil-operated or bolt-action or whatever but... Gravity-action?
@@CidSilverWing since it's still the explosion initiating the action, i would say "Gravity-assisted firearm" is a better name
5:10 a last round bolt hold open, not on the last round and on a gun that doesn’t do that. This gun is a true gem
it turned open bolt
Whenever someone says hi point makes the ugliest and worst guns just show them the zip 22
Hi Points are tanks
I can imagine this might make an interesting paperweight. Really that's the only thing I could imagine using this for. It would help remind me of why it's important to keep things simple, that design should be functional and elegant, and a reminder of the dangers of hubris.
