One thing I noticed in this episode was that Mando has multiple groups who would accept him for who he is but he is searching for acceptance from the people of his faith.
If he wants to unite the remaining Mandos he needs to redeem himself in the eyes of his former clan.
I can't be the only one who was expecting Hondo when they started talking about pirates in this episode
I definitely got my hopes up for Hondo
He's not the only pirate tons of ppl are you geezer
@@waifustiramisu You aren't wrong. But Hondo is THE pirate.
@@waifustiramisu I know he's not the only pirate, he's just my favorite one, so I got excited about potentially seeing him
But like hondo would be like suuuupppeeerrrr old
Grogu literally showing the world how your average person would abuse the force for everyday things 😂😂😂
Grogu just one of the boys foreal 😂
I totally would 😂
So much water symbolism but they also showed us what happens when a Mandalorian is knocked over in water… they sink and can’t get up on their own. When Mando goes into the waters under the mines, he’s going to sink and the only way to survive is to… take off the armor. Which is what the Watch needs to do.
I mean I'm sure he's aware that the armor causes him to sink, and they are allowed to take their armor off when alone, so I'm pretty sure he will know to skinny dip.
John marston over here
I don't think he has to submerge. It's prob a repeat if this baptismal type action
Hey speak for yourself
Personally I’m very much looking forward to seeing him skinny dip in the mines if you know what I mean
I LOVED the bait and switch, making you think it was flashback only to reveal it's just history rhyming.
I seriously thought that it was a flashback until I saw the N-1 Starfighter
Those 2 kids look nothing alike lmao
Lol i was like, that kids too white to be young Pedro
"It's like poetry it rhymes. "
With the connections you made to Prince of Egypt, I’m surprised you didn’t relate the Purrgil to the sea creature that the child saw when the Hebrews were traveling through the Red Sea in that movie. Especially with the blue of the water obscuring it’s form, only seeing it’s silhouette. 😊
Absolutely! Voss actually did make the comparison yesterday in The Deep Dive channel.
Interesting thing about the intro, Din Djarin is the only non-Imperial to get a red lightsaber flash. It probably doesn't mean anything. But it is odd.
Same. Thought that was weird too.
Same. Thought that was weird too.
im pretty sure the droid from andor did too
Same. Thought that was weird too.
@@beatbyksweet That was an imperial droid, tho
I loved all the little old school touches in this episode. Practical effects along with the the stop motion, and I was like a kid again. Good stuff. Can't wait to see what's next.
It felt like I was a kid again for a second too
I think it’s kind of cool how Grogu uses the force to spin in the cheer. Like how in Star Wars III Revenge of The Sith, when Yoda uses the force to spin the cheer when he’s with obi wan and Bail organa.
Grogru was hugging the Anzellan bc Grogru recognized what they were doing. Grogru thinks they are helping his friend. I think that hug was much deeper than just a reaction from a "baby"
I actually had the pleasure to design and 3d modeled the BBQ in Nevarro. The animal model I used to pose roasting on the broach are not Nuna, but womp rats without hair. :) They are scaled down significantly from the model used in the scene where Mando saves Peli in the Book of Boba Fett.
I love that the shard is even written in proper mando’a
Navarro being so changed shocked me - I thought it was a full desert planet and was like “where did these hills and greenery come from?” 😮
What I find interesting about the helmet the armorer crafted in the beginning of episode was that the huge visor matches up with the visor hasbro makes in their kid sized helmets.
The green crystal with the text appears to be the same material as the sword held by the creature in the trailer that grogu force pushes. Perhaps it is like a Beskar equivalent of obsidian. Likely that scene takes place on mandalore.
Super excited to explore more about Mandalore, was always the most mysterious even with the amount of time we spent there in Clone Wars, it's the ancient part of it that is the most interesting and mysterious.
I agree,I wouldve loved a series of mandalore that had a GOT feel to it and then in the last season we get to see how the world fell and ended up getting "glassed"
Wouldve been sweet to see how all the clans started and got their sigils, and then how they mightve splintered off from each other and formed different alliances and so on.
Honestly in my opinion, Mandalore is probably the most interesting planet in the Star Wars universe
I loved the battle scene with maul and savage vs sidious
@@jonielrodriguez6646 To be honest, although i'd love to see more about Mandalore, I think learning about its history indirectly, like we are seeing now, is more interesting and mysterious
This episode was awesome and seeing the Purrgil makes me hope that we'll Erza in live action.
As someone with a PhD in Theological Studies, Eriks joke/question about cults and religions was hilarious - and spot on! As the great philosopher Sheldon Cooper said, "It's funny because it's true!"
As someone with a PhD in medical science, idk why muricans feel the need to disclaim all this stuff. I’m European and catholic and talk shit about the church daily. No need to disclaim anything. We’re allowed to criticise anything. Including other religions like Islam.
That reverse F on the banner for one of the houses is the same F as the Fender logo. Looking at it on my guitar right now, its exactly the same. Wonder if they did it on purpose, or just a coincidence?
"Really, this episode is only a quest for the right bathtub !" I laughed so hard at this one ! The Manbathlorian !
Loved that episode. Can't wait to watch the next episode
Same here!!!
Same
Likewise here!
Agreed
I think there's been a mass conspiracy about Mandalor, both the Armorer and Bo know it. I think Mando is going to find out faily quickly and return to eventually lead by the end of the season, Pirates vs Mandos in Navaro. Also excited to see Fett's role this season.
THIS Episode was just something Else!! DANG FARIK!!
Dank**
Right after that scene i was thinking, "why couldn't they just all go back into the cave or just leave? They didn't have to stay and fight"
That isn't the way.
I was thinking that the liquid the Armorer was pouring was actually water from the rivers beneath Mandalore. Anyone else have ideas about that possibility?
Thats a good possibility 🤔
If that wee the case he could just cleanse himself there.... so I doubt it
Its an oil that changes the way the metal cools as it touches it. Helps it to temper a certain way.
Here for Grogu force swirling that office chair lol
Appreciate the shout-out for my transcription post!
Loved this episode. Going back to basics.
The cooking droid was also in the second (5th) Star Wars movie, cooking on the ship Padame & Darth rode on to flee for safety to Naboo & bitched at R2D2 for picking up food. You know, the movie with the great dialog "hold me like you did when we had "(barf) Ragnar (Kimmel) is the same actor who played the Sand People's child nemesis of Boba... later on his bff.
The Armorer was able to build this in a cave FROM A BOX OF SCRAP BESKAR!!!
I've been watching your videos for years now and I have to say this is the first one I've checked several times, waiting, for.
This analysis is incredible. Great job guys.
7:55 LOVE it 🤣 those scenes always scared me
They need to make Favreau the Kevin Fiege of Star Wars. This episode was everything I love about this universe
So excited for this season!!
Wesley Kimmel was also the kid from that Desert Tribe in The Book of Boba Fett. And apparently, Jon Favreau liked his performance so much, as the Tusken Kid, he decided to put him in The Mandalorian Season 3.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Grogu was maybe going to try and EAT the anzellen….. he eats anything and everything! 😅
Dank farrik its good to hear you talking about mando again. I missed you voss. Sorta I watch your Marvel break downs too lol
The green glass also reminds me of Moldavite. Moldavite Moldavite (Czech: vltavín) is a forest green, olive green or blue greenish vitreous silica projectile glass formed by a meteorite impact in southern Germany (Nördlinger Ries Crater) that occurred about 15 million years ago. It is a type of tektite.
First ep was him picking main and side quests
This episode was so awesome mandalorian directors have it together
8:43 the bastard in the basket lol
I’m honestly the type to wait until the entire season comes out so I can Binge Watch it 😅 cause waiting for another episode is agonizing lol
I’m tempted honestly! The episodes are so damn short!
When the beskar was heated and still a disk I saw the deathstar in it, with the heated spot being off centre
That "Reverse F" symbol is also used by Fender Guitars for their instruments and amps. The mando version looks like a slightly drunken tattoo version.
Can't wait to see how the rest of the season goes.
Solid ep1. Top Easter egg review
4:17 LOL!!🤣
He's not going to mandalore in episode 18, he clearly stated he needs IG11 to help navigate the planet. He's going to find the memory unit, get IG11 fixed then go to mandalor
Agreed. Every season the formula seems to be one main quest with lots of side quests to get to the main quest by the end of the season.
Yep. And it would be too soon to go to Mandalore in episode 2. That would be saved for the finale.
I like how this comment has aged now xD
Lol. Wrong!
7:55 lmao 🤣🤣
Another amazing video
I love the Captain Morgan reference!
The bird reminds me of the one from Rebels that follows Ashoka Tano...
All my years watching Star Wars........never knew about "Space Whales" It was majestic to see. This season will be another good one 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Watch Rebels. Like Clone Wars, the first season isn't great but it gets better each season.
purrgil are awesome, the only living creature in the galaxy that can organically travel through hyperspace, such a cool concept imo
6:23 love to see a Borderlands reference. R.I.P. Bloodwing.
0:45 bruh it's been awhile watching these intros and I didn't even realise the blue and red flashes were lightsaber reflections lol
I think the protocol Droid advertising the hot springs was reminiscent of the MPG Star Wars Galaxies ,when players ran scripts to advertise their shops.
7:00 not sure if it was intentional BUT (as you can see in the Sean Connery movie "The Rock" and I saw in real life) VX nerve agent is a similar shade of green and when burnt it forms a green glass like substance.
Nerd riot needs to make that grogu hug a shirt
These are the best!!
honestly i like that this season started off a bit light, knowing the fact that this season is gonna be nuts. it sets up very much the stakes for this season.
The pirate's ship is shaped exactly like an Eclipse-CLass SSD from Legends comics, but much smaller.
Kind of a hybrid between the Eclipse/Sovereign class dreadnoughts from Dark Empire and the Mandalorian Keldaabe-class Frigate from Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
In the opening scene on the far left is a mando holding a banner that looks sort of red and yellow that appears to have the clan ordo sigil (the almost diamond shaped one)
Enjoyed this video more than the opening episode of Mando series 3.
I'm giggling that there is a Paz Vizsla. The breed of dog I own is a Vizsla. House of Jedi Vizsla here haha.
The airlock noise with the helmet really grinds my gears... I know they're supposed to be sealed, but it's clearly just open on the bottom, and his long hair is sticking out the back. Have you ever tried to seal something with a bunch of hair in the way? Doesn't happen.
💯
I did indeed think it was a flashback
Was anyone else waiting for something to happen, then the episode ended?
No
Yes
It happened in the beginning 😂
No
I was waiting for the end then it ended
The way Mando leans on the tree reminded me of a young boba fett from the original trilogy
Always happy to see scud the disposal assassin get a shout out
13:18 bad baby😂😂😂
Kalevala is as poetry collection with finnish folklore an nordic myth. I reacted a bit when I realized this planet was called that :P It is also the name of the home of the humans (non-gods)
Voss back in the blue room, breaking down The Mandalorian, as God intended
Mando sitting in the workshop reminds me of Luke Skywalker sitting in Yoda's home in the Empire Strikes Back.
The pirate fighters were first featured in the X-Wing: Alliance game from the 90s
3:39 & 3:48 Those are cool casting details that I was initially unaware of. 14:04 Personally, he reminded me more of Swamp Thing, and I even saw a few memes about it.
The scene at 16:18 here is straight out of Pale Rider, when the Preacher shoots the crooked sheriff and his six deputies. The Mandalorian seems like one big Eastwood western.
I get Lone Wolf and Cub vibes from the first season on.
I established the Mandolorian as a Western in S1E1... 😁
I defiantly get western vibes watching The Mandalorian sometimes for example the scene where Greff & the pirates are arguing to get him a drink
14:08 He also palyed Bishop, Blackbeards first mate in Pan. Hes the captain know.
Cannnnt waittt to see Ezra 😫😫😫😫 so excited
It is interesting that the planet Kalevala has the name as the Finnish pantheon and that it also have the same climate and aesthetic
this season i’m hoping din goes from the mandalorian to the mand’alor
3:26 that's not the sigil of Jester Mareel... House Vizla are just huge Fender guitar fans.
What an episode
I was not ready for that Jumpscare should've listened to the warning 😭
Thought he was going to mention how Bo was almost sitting like Darth Maul when he had the throne
THIS IS THE WAY
Why was he going to talk to Bo Katan when he was supposed to be looking for a part for IG11. Or are the aliens gonna find it like Apollo send then send mando the addy?
Yeh exactly
FOUR MILLION HERE WE GOOO
Prince of Egypt shoutout
that "F" just looks like a Fender logo haha they're gonna shred some guitar solos this season
(looks at the P-bass and Strat hanging on the wall behind me). I was thinking the same thing,
I love that shirt
@1:47 If u think those kids look the same, u need your driver license revoked... Not even close😂
bruh he said “vaguely”
Oh. You never mentioned of what the planet Kalevala was named after.
I just notice at 6:24 you used a picture of blood wing from borderlands 1
I honestly thought the Armorer was a different one when they were there on that other planet, maybe all Mandalorian armorers look the same so that they can be differentiated from the others. I mean how could that same armorer be everywhere haha that would also explain why they repeat what happened with Din as if they never knew 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe they're actually a group of all relatives, like the Annas in Fire Emblem
I'm surprised I've seen no one else mention how much the Pirate starfighters look like they're inspired by the old R41 Starchasers from Legends.
Just finished watching it 😊
Honestly I thought it was the hammer head ship too at first, but I think it’s an Eclipse Class Star Destroyer. I went online and honestly it looks like a modified one. Look it up trust me!
The reverse F logo on the house Visla flag looks almost identical to the guitar brand Fender's logo, that's all I have to say on that, just thought it was cool as a guitar player myself
Is that Mando Flag a Foo Fighters reference? It looks just like the tattoo on the Nothing to Lose album.
