She’s such a brick wall. Aside from her great technique, she’s always got her hands up, she’s so strong. This girl is phenomenal.
Love how Smilla gets so genuinely excited and giggly, so happy for her. Behind that smile is an absolute beast though. She was getting more brutal as the fight went on, and looked like she could go another couple rounds easy.

Jackie looked in control in the early stages, but from round 3 onwards she was starting to crumble from Smilla’s relentless pressure. Really happy for Smilla, she earned that belt tonight! 🏆👏🏼

Body kicks and lack of strategy spell a difference. Adjustment in attack like the inside offense and counter pressure- as the reach advantage has the equally potent bomb and youth power wins the game.
Jackie has faster hands, but Smilla’s constant forward pressure, tight guard, and domination of the clinch with her length was able to overcome the speed differential. Fantastic fight, super fun match to watch. Smilla’s also got a hell of a chin. Sometimes one fighter can just eat everything thrown at them and come back for more. It’s a rare talent.
She is like a terminator. No matter what you hit her with, she just keeps coming forward and hitting you.

@@arla61 It's a pretty normal thing to do. I train at a gym here in the US and we train to do that, though our couch has trained with some Thai legends
Fairtex in the house!! Relentless pressure and never backing up. When Stamp Fairtex said Smilla is the REAl DEAL, I stood up and looked at Smilla's fights.. TRIPLE WOW!!!

Sundell weathered the storm early then took over. When Jackie realized she could take her best and still keep coming, she was done. Sundell looked like she got her high school diploma at the end lol

Smilla is such a young sensation. Imagine how good she'll be when she puts on a little more body mass and gains more experience going into her 20's. Someone to watch in the next few years for sure!

I was rooting for Smilla a little more on this. I appreciate her use of the clinch and elbows. Seasoned Thai fighter and great use of technique while leveraging her longer limbs. HOWEVER. Super valiant and respectful effort by Ms Buntan. She tried so hard to angle out and counter strike and really, honestly, did put on a clinic in the early rounds. It does take it out of you though I guess. Respect to both fighters and Salute too. This is Muay Thai. Amazing fight.
I kinda knew this was gonna happen after Jackie's last fight where her team strategy was EXTREMELY lacking they had her trading up top blows with a pretty even opponent &she just barely clinched the decision Same thing with 11.. she was NEVER gonna win in a pure striking match with Smillazilla yet that's all she did time &again even after realising she ain't gonna drop her or win their exchanges.. which for me is just another failure on the teams part idve had her switch it up &try to break down her legs.. Jackie has STRONG legs &even though smilla is pure Muay Thai based I'm sure it would've given her problems or atleast disrupted her rhythm But oh well.. they both fought their hearts out &the best girl/team won.

Wow Sundell is a Thai at heart, tough as nails and relentless.. I love Buntans American style Muay Thai, very Aesthetic and well rounded, but you can't beat a classic strategy.

Smilla might go down as one of the toughest and most relentless ladies to ever do it. Jackie was landing, but it just didn’t matter. Smilla is literally built for this, lots of talent to go with it too. This is the only way Jackie could lose imo, by somebody who could eat her power shots and trade while doing it. 17 as well… crazy.
Smilla's legs and torso should be Buntan's target and the early rounds because Smilla is long Buntan can't hit her face without a counter punch.

Can't underestimate that at a certain height discrepancy, a fighter having to angle strikes upward can take a lot from the power. Buntan needed to target lower more, because I think her head strikes were blunted by the awkward angle.

I've seen a lot of tall fighters who don't know how to use their reach advantage. Sundell utilized hers very well. Props to Buntan though, went all the way!

I like how Jackie was trying so hard to stop Sundell from using her knee, in most of her fights her opponent goes down with just one knee to the stomach. Kudos to Sundell a well deserved victory
I thought it was alot like Bi Nguyen's last fight, hard for Jackie to get past the reach, but none the less both these ladies fought an excellent fight!!! Smilla did what she does, kicked butt and always was smiling!!

Shes training at fairtex . She has great peers training with her sparring with rodtang, saemapetch, stamp and yodkaikaew fairtex
They're both good fighters , and the swedish use her reach to control the fight, besides this is sports and we're here to continue and support and watch Buntan next fight 👍

This reminds me of Samart Payakaroon vs Dieselnoi. Samart was 5’8 and Dieselnoi was 6’2. Samart liked to punch (like Jackie) and Dieselnoi was the taller fighter who loves to knee (like Smilla). Samart and Jackie were getting destroyed by the taller opponent but they still kept it competitive and never gave up.
The start of this fight reminded me of saenchai vs Charles francois

those punches from both fighters are heavy! smilla's range advantage was showing in those trades.
Once Smilla started pressuring Jackie, it was over, Smilla playing it safe was not the best call. Smilla is a 5round gangster! Can’t wait to watch the rest of her very long very successful career!

Smilla fought smart, overcame adversity and adjusted and just made a new fan. I'll always be a Jackie fanboy, but Smilla did a badass job.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Jackie had some early success with head punches, but Smilla adjusted to defend these with a high guard. Jackie continued to headhunt, but Smilla was able to block most of her punches due to the high guard. A few good body shots would likely have gotten through, and given Smilla something else to think about. She might have even adjusted her guard lower, making it possible to land a few headshots again.
WOW!!! I'm shocked. I honestly thought Buntan was gonna win this fight. Smilla was amazing with that relentless pressure; she really messed up Buntan's face...I've never seen her take that much punishment. Quite amazing for a 17 yr old. And she's adorable! Look at her reaction when she receives the belt lol. Good job she earned that victory! I look fwd to watching her more....
Easy work for someone with such a reach advantage. Buntan is super tough, she should have laid body shots.

To all commentators that are feeling sore about Puntan losing to Smilla -> Stop giving excuses. Same weight class, slightly more height and reach advantage. Look at Puntan's thighs circumference and compare with Smilla? Smilla is like a bag of bones. Anyway, Puntan blocked too many of Smilla's punches with her face. That is why she lost. Mike Tyson or Senchai is short too but does that stop them from beating up taller opponents? Learn to accept defeat fairly and gracefully.
If anything this is about child abuse, but Puntan still lost.

And yeah one could say that's because she lacks the skills or fight IQ to do so . Remember a little thing called K1 and semmy shilt ,For a long time no one could get past his reach .

Good fight with both ladies. Smilla will likely dominate the division, she good height, length and good power. Excited for her future. Still a fan of Jackie it was difficult for her to land combination as Smilla was more focused to defending her right side. I hope next time Jackie would go for the body more especially for taller opponents.
