Great video, Thanks Andrew
I also had the honor of flying a Boeing Stearman for twenty years. There is no greater pleasure or feeling, than the wind blowing in your face! I really loved it! I self learned aerobatics, and usually put on a show every weekend at the airport! It opened peoples eyes when ever I flew somewhere !
It's great to see Andrew after about 30 years. I remember the time he took me up after a show at Rhinebeck, sometime around 1985 or so. He took my brothers up several times, as well.
Thanks for sharing that memory!
Andrew is my hero ❤❤
like flyin' in a dream!
Love my Pietenpol...live on a 4000' grass.... NH 69
Great video. Great pilot. Great guy.
Yes indeed!
Excellent video!
Cool, a fellow Parks College graduate. I'm an '84 AE grad.
Chicago to Dallas and back in 1971, well almost back (weather in St. Louis on the return trip). Charts and VORs. There wasn't any other way in those days. Seemed like no big deal, and it was fun! All you needed was a destination.
Great video! Andrew is a real Aviators aviator!
another awesome video!
Thank you!
Because the line would be so long after the show at Rhinebeck, Bill Gordon gave me his personal phone number, and 5 of us would drive up there from Ct. on our Harleys, and go up in the Mail Carrier during the week. He was the greatest.
Hi I don't know if you remember me but I went to Nyack High class of 1980. Maureen Kelly I was best friends with Margaret Olivier from Central Nyack. Just saw that Ed Miller who was in our class asked about you.
Very cool. Given the choice of a free ride with The Blue Angels or an old Sterman I'll take the Sterman every time....providing it's a nice warm and sunny day.
This is got to be my favorite aopa video. There is a real magic about flying around in an old airplane. I have an old taylorcraft that I've had for 28 years and I just love cruising around with a map.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Where do you get paper charts these days? I recall the pre-GPS days, too... satisfying to hit all the checkpoints within one minute, and your total fuel burn within one gallon...
