Hello everyone. Welcome back to X-Machines channel. In the process of smelting spent metal often produces slag. Due to the increasing demand of metal products, especially iron and steel in recent years, slag production has also increased rapidly. In this video, X-Machines will learn about the machinery, equipment and technology of slag treatment in metallurgical plants.

  • Slag from steel mills used to and probably still is used as railroad ballast. At one time, Denver and all points around had slag ballast for hundreds of miles around, thanks to CF&I's steelmaking in Pueblo.

  • Locally, we have a plant that processes phosphate ore by melting it. It's really cool to watch them dump slag.

  • Yes, it is very hard work for bridge crane in steel milling, the casting crane quality is very importation, it related to the safety of the worker and the whole production line, so I hope you will choose high quality crane from professional facotry.

  • I should think that pouring it into molds might be able to produce building blocks. Or cause it to be made very porous so that it can be used as crushed aggregate in strong but lightweight concrete.

    • @@peterresetz5072 I kno. The channel was experimenting with different voices for about a month. They ended up using only closed caption and music because everyone was complaining about the different accents and voices.
