  • I don't usually like zoo videos, they mostly just leave me wishing the animals were in the wild, but these lions seem happy and well cared for. Great narration too.

They could all be gone in the wild, and only exist in captivity, but is that what's best for them. They r not meant to b held in cages.. and if we really cared so much abt their survival, why do we keep stealing their land and making them go extinct..?? 🤷‍♀️. . Just nite time thoughts...

Our government is doing best and like Tigers and leopards, we hope to see more and more lions. Have you fed wild lions? Come to Gir and see crazy villagers tossing chickens at lions. The lions enter village go to the water tank, drink from there and leave without killing anyone. Like I said we live with lions. There have been incidents of attacks when humans invade their home but otherwise we r pretty safe.

    @NohelaniAloha85@NohelaniAloha852 жыл бұрын
    • Unforuntately with the loss of habitat what else are they supposed to do? They're trying to preserve the species. As for why they stopped the lionesses cycle? Because she used to have health issues at the time of the birth control being implanted that would have made it dangerous for her to have cubs back when they gave it to her. But years later she's healthy enough to have cubs. I don't know what health issues she had before though, but if it risked her life they weren't going to let her have cubs because they may have well lost her and any cubs she may have carried probably would not have survived anyway. I wish they gave more details though... what was the health issue? Which means she would have died in the wild simply from being pregnant/giving birth I guesstimate. I just wish they would say what the health issue was. Before being angry at zoo's (at least the ones that act more like sanctuaries) be angry at the land developers taking away habitat and at the poachers killing off these wild animals. At least in zoos/sanctuaries (depending on their structure) they're safe though obviously not in all of them. Take Yellowstone park for example which tries to preserve wolves... its still the wild but also a park. No hunting allowed there but this past year due to wolves being taken off the endangered list or at least allowing hunting of them in those states... the wolf packs and pups were baited with food outside the park so that hunters could shoot and kill them. So until hunting/poaching/land development are halted the survival of a species heavily unfortunately relies on zoos and sanctuaries. Where else are they going to go where their species wont be hunted to extinction? I just hope said zoos and sacntuaries are scrutinized and not abusive toward the animals in their care.

      @TrinketTheDragonsHoarde@TrinketTheDragonsHoarde2 жыл бұрын
    • I really feel like at this point that people don't care about animals possibly being in safe hands in either Zoo's, or Sanctuaries. No matter how well an animal is taken care of in these videos there will be someone that believes an animal possibly facing poachers for the sake of being "wild and free" is much better. Then, when they suddenly die off, it is OUR FAULT for not stepping in. There's no win-win..tired of these damn comments..
