Dana White shares his dark moment around the sale of UFC, his relationship with Trump and addresses Jake Paul in an open and brutally honest discussion this week on The Pivot.
The UFC President and Business Icon invites Ryan, Fred and Channing to UFC headquarters and doesn’t hold back as he talks tough topics with the guys.
As Ryan asks Dana about his mindset during the business dealing of the UFC, Dana breaks down in a vulnerable moment saying how he shut down and went through a very dark time when the sale of the UFC was happening- “I locked myself in a hotel room off the radar and was really F’d up for a few days,” as he explains the moment.
Dana goes on to share with Fred and Channing how when the UFC was a nothing brand yet that no one wanted to deal with, one person had his back and let him host events and that was Donald Trump. He discusses his long relationship with the former President and goes on to explain how we all have friends who we don’t always agree with on everything but it doesn’t change us from being their friend.
Getting into the pay scale of fighters and often criticized business end of UFC, Dana explains his “eat what you kill”’motto which is something Channing is a big proponent of.
One important message he gets across is that you don’t have to like everyone to do business as Dana explains his disdain for the likes of Tito Ortiz, Bob Arum and Jake Paul but doesn’t let his personal feelings get in the way of closing a deal.
By the end of the conversation, Fred recognizes the respect level he has for Dana and explains how media misconceptions led him to have a pre-conceived notion about Dana but his openness and honesty changed that.

Bringing on Ryan to the Pivot was definitely the best decision Channing and Fred made. This dude is really a Goat in the making. He is so underrated. Also, Channing and Fred also bring life into this podcast, which keeps the ship moving in the right direction. Keep up the great work.

While all the other sports were crumbling during covid, love him or hate him, dana is the man that didn't succumb to the madness. MMA is the toughest sport in the world, and the president needs to be just as tough.

As a Jets fan I found this podcast when they interviewed Garrett Wilson... this trio of guys have great chemistry. Quickly became one of my favorite podcasts that I can't wait for.

The way this show is going, I don't think it's too early to compare them to the chemistry of Inside the NBA on TNT with Ernie, Shaq, Chuck and Kenny!! Prayerfully no drama happens within the group and they stay grounded.

Every team has drama, but Im speaking in the context of something happening that breaks them up. Even NBA on TNT had drama with its current cast but got through it and stood the test of time. The PIVOT def has the potential to get to that level, so it's ok to mention them in that same light.
It is too early the TNT crew been doing this since b4 these guys football careers ended. They don’t even got a year in & to be on they’re level of chemistry you have to put the years in. Love the show hope it’s still around in 5 years but that’s askin 4 a lot

You want raw content. This episode was just that. The questions that were asked were very direct, and Dana did not shy away from any of them. You don’t have to agree with everything that is said or done, but it’s nice to have a understanding. These are not interviews. We are ease dropping on “grown folks” conversations.
Haven't watched the episode yet but this run of guests has been ELITE.

Can’t lie I’ve always been a boxing fan since my youth, but watching this interview with Dana White has changed my perspective on the UFC and how it’s ran. Love this podcast but hate when they make me recollect on my theories and put them to question for a better and legitimate truth! These fellas are an awesome team and I look forward to what’s in the near future.
