The engines of an aircraft are arguably its most important part. This is because they determine how fast the aircraft can go, how far it can go, how much load it can carry, and how much fuel it consumes.
It’s no surprise then that engine manufacturers are always innovating ways to get the most performance out of their engines.
One of the latest of such innovations is the new CFM RISE Engine from CFM International. The performance of this unique engine technology has shocked everyone in the aviation industry.
Can't wait to have noisy turboprops with contrails!!! Since I ALWAYS like seeing A400Ms and C-130Js with contrails at my area, as well as Piaggio P-180s and sometimes King Airs and TBMs, too. (Those are the only turboprops that can produce contrails at my area, since of 30,000ft or higher, PLUS are noisy, too!!! Better than quiet airliners for SURE!!!)
The Tu-95 is coming back! It is not much slower than the B-52 (with the old engines), but more efficient. I would be cautious because of the propeller noise of inducted fans. I know propeller planes where the propeller makes much more noise than the combustion motor like the Cessna 210.
Sounds great. How many years before these new engines are on aircraft?
Anything that makes our aircraft safer and more efficient is a plus in my book.
