Continuing this Cesar911 Episode, I help a family who has gone through a recent heartbreaking event.
Leon, the family's dog, visits the Dog Psychology Center for more training with Cesar.
This episode focuses on how our energy can cause our dogs to react and behave a certain way.
It is important to live in the moment and pay attention to the energy we are creating.

My dog was SO overprotective when I first got her. It died down after the first few months. She was about 3 and never had an owner before. She was also fearful and reactive towards other dogs. We brought home an emergency foster and about 2 months later her fear dissapaited and most of the reactivity went with it. She still needs training but time and patience did most of the trick. Cesars tips helped her growth tenfold tho.
that's so good, you wanna communicate with dogs, communicate with their own language
Dogs are perfectly fine and trainable, it’s just the owners who need the help and discipline.
Dogs can make wonderful pets to have if the owners themselves are willing to devote the time, energy and effort necessary in order to be taught because learning is growing.
Sometimes I think the only people who should try to have dogs are people with no lives and are willing to be 2nd to an animal . I like dogs a lot but idk I go back and forth, people exaggerate the benefits. Just so they could get a dog that they can pet. But can’t have a deep convo with or do everything with, who is highly dependent on you to do everything for them , the benefit is that you just want a furry thing to pet that sometimes wants to cuddle? Idk. If dogs weren’t so high maintenance I’d get it but often they are just off to the side , needing you to constantly medicate it at a vet and buying it tons of toys and taking it out just to watch IT run. I don’t get why people act like that is so amazing. I think some people are just incredibly bored and have no goals outside of work . Dogs can be cuddly every now and then sure, but that’s basically the only benefit, if you hang around anything or anyone long enough and take care of them devotedly you will develop a soft spot for them. But there are a lot of requirements with just about one benefit that gets dramatically romanticized
Absolutely correct. Problems are almost ALWAYS because of the owner. And I don’t like using the term “owner.” We are caregivers and family members to dogs & cats, just like children. No different. If you think it’s different than caring for a child - please, please do not get a dog. Ever.
@@LH23511 Not really pittbulls were bred for hunting also because they had alot of stamina and could keep up with the prey. But then people realized that they could fight for long time and thats the reason why they are soo many pittbull fights. They saw no potential in hunting and moved to make money with dog fights.
Anything is trainable with enough skill. But many dogs bring problems that are a lot to deal with for the average person. I think that’s a better way to characterize things.
Facing the problems is the one of the most hardest things to do. Ceasar always says " you don't get the dog you want but dog you need ". This dog gave her the reason for her to facing her fear. Your dog tell you who you really are. Dogs won't lie.
It’s amazing how a dog or other animal can show you what is wrong with ourselves by not being balance human beings. I wish more people could see what Cesar teach.

You just discovered the most valuable lesson about this video.
It's universal. At least among us mammals, if not beyond
I love your comment. I have respect for your insight. IT's true--we impart onto others our own emotion. People, in general, don't seem to get this at all. I wish more did. I'm so glad you watched this show, whether you get an animal of your own someday, or decide it's not for you. There's no right or wrong--only you can decide. :) Me, I'm an animal lover through and through. :)
I would submit that a young of her size and weight is not a good match for a largerish dog. I suspect she treated this dog as a person and needs to be educated on pack behavior, prior to choosing a dog like this. That said, the die is cast when she brings the dog home for the first time. As a result this dog naturally protected his owner. Her body language and energy caused her stable dog to escalate the stable dog. Caesar recognizes the dogs aren’t’ the problem here, so he educated the owner in his way by showing her she was the problem. Another case of rehabilitating the owner, and not the dog. and I concur that characteristics shown here, translate well into human behavior. Outstanding, Semper Fi
Excellent observation ! To get calm , we must be calm, we are learning.
I feel bad for this owner. She doesn’t seem like the type who would get a dog in the first place. I’m happy she met Cesar

Same. When I watch these kind of videos, I always see these specialists are fixing cat/dog owners’ behaviors because the problem is not on animals, but owners. They don’t know what to do and they can’t help it 😭

The more I watch Ceaser, the more I realize he is almost as good at helping humans as dogs. Over and over he helps the human correct their mistakes to help the dogs.
I was thinking exactly the same thing. And I also think that he was lucky to have such a sharp and intelligent woman who was willing to be introspective.
Dog training is 95% training humans and 5% training dogs.
Dog's problems are always caused by humans so of course you need to fix the causal problem first or nothing changes.

even if you don't have a dog personally it's likely that you know someone who does and you might be able to help change someone's life just by sharing what you've learned. you never know when the knowledge you have might come in handy.
Awesome observation! A few years ago, I got my first dog (finally lol) that was not a family dog, rescue dog; a dog I purposefully got to have as a companion. She was so timid and fearful, and I had to learn how to work with that as I had never had this experience with a puppy. She was the runt of the litter and born this way. I ended up becoming calmer and stronger for her, to be what SHE needs. In so doing, that spread to other areas of my life. I was not able to apply these things without my dog- so the phrase Cesar says that we get the dog we need is so true. If you are able to apply these things on your own, that is so inspirational to me.

Thank you
The litter owner I got my Mika from wouldn't even let people choose or take a pup until they were a full 3 months old. The pups being mostly Husky with 1/8 timberwolf and 1/8 Malamute, he was brutally choosy about who they went to. (I had 5 Malamutes prior to my current dog.) The pups spent that time with both parents, 5 littermates, and two year- old dogs from the first litter. They learned how to be a dog, to be around other dogs, pack/status thoroughly before they left. I think it's made a huge difference in his level of socialization. People do what they must but I think pups are often taken from the parent way too soon and it has an influence on how they act/react around other canines. Huskies are great watch dogs in terms of letting you know who and what is around but they aren't aggressive guard dogs.
Don't be terrified just remember that you are in full control of what your dog does. My dog has a leash agression problem wich has gotten a lot better in the past 2 years. I just learned to remain more calm passing by other dogs and stop expecting her to lash out. And if she lashes out i know that if i get her attention fast enaugh and tell her to stop she will do it imidiatly. As stupid as it might sound you have to make it clear that you are the boss and you decide if your dog should lash out or not. Be confident!
I swear to god every time that moment happens, that magical moment when the owner and the dog “gets it” and the negative behavior shows an instant change - I cry. It’s just so magical.

@EMPress actually when I saw this comment I looked for some comments with girl names and he has replied to them but notice how he doesn’t reply to men? Exactly.
My favorite part always is when they visit Lorenzo, i love that llama.
“Llamas always spit in my face.” Maybe your llama does, but this is MY llama. Best response to a nervous human ever hahaha. Lorenzo RULES
I feel sorry for Lorenzo, being used in this way... he must have been bitten more than a few times 😟
I use to have a boss named Lorenzo. I like Cesars Lorenzo better.
Yes! Kudos to the white fluffy dog who attempted to break up this fight! He’s a hero!
This is what it's all about, if you're not going to lead, the dog will. It's not your dogs job to protect you, that's your job.
Poor holly looks so fearful standing by Cesar looking for protection. Holly was being such a good girl not fighting back.
He should be ashamed of himself for putting her in that situation. 🤬
@@jozigirl7114 You Nailed It !
Imma trust cesar over you soft kids
@@jozigirl7114 Hey..... there are dogs literally being put in boiled water as I type this. Stop. What world or reality do you live in? He took Holly in, a dog in that wasn't fit to be around people let alone kids and that would otherwise be euthanized (happens EVERY DAY to family pets), and you're upset that he saved her life and uses her as an example to rehabilitate other dogs? You're the worst kind.
@@brianserrano00 oh dear - "soft kids" is that the very best you have? There are far better dog trainers around - but thank goodness we all have the right to choose. I just pity your dogs who are subject to your archaic view on dog training. Oh and ease off on the condescension - you have to actually be elevated above someone to look down on them, and that you are not.
shoutout to the cameraman, for straight up; taking a llama to the face & continuing to film. Kudos, man.
Yes he got a Lama right onto him but then Ceasar said You ok? Thats a good shot... like really?
Idk why I laughed so hard though 🤣😅
Cesar said "its alright" and the camera man said "I believe you"
"taking a llama to the face".. a phrase I thought I'd never get to encounter 😂.. thanks for that. Really made my day hahaha

amazing how some people get through life......without an idea of what is going on around them.
03:40 😮 how much they sense us that we are in danger and this activates their senses of saving.
I recently saw the episode about that Lab (Holly) that Leon kept attacking. Ironically, SHE was overly aggressive, and that was the first time I’ve ever seen Cesar NOT return someone’s pet back to them; he couldn’t, bcuz she was just too dangerous to be around the family that owned her. But look at the Change in her in This episode… amazing! Poor thing passed away last year, tho. 🥺
Which episode is that??
@@lindsyparra Just search Cesar and Holly
@@shion3948 I remember that episode. Good one!

I wonder how many of us are not aware at all of our emotions, let alone how or pets pick it up. It pushes us to deal with our stuff and grow to a calm, peaceful, more confident life. These pets push us to change.

It probably explains why whenever I’m angry or crying my dog comes into my room to kinda check up on me
How often are you angry and crying?
I think you are amazing. It looks to me like you can read the dogs mind. You have helped do many people and dogs. ❤
Gosh I love Cesar Millan!
Hello Dear How are you doing today?
Respect for her being able to put herself out there like this. She obviously cares about the dog, but it does not seem like shes fit to be an owner of a dog yet. She needs to focus on her own healing first. Leon is like an emotional bridge that connects her to her deceased friend and for that reason it seems hard to imagine her being able to put all these experiences behind her. Love how Cesar trains both human and animal.
Actually dogs are terribly good at helping people heal. That is why they use them in hospitals and old age homes. That dog is a chow in a retriever shaped body. If you know anything about chows then you know that they are stubborn, training resistant, territorial, and dog aggressive. They do not respond well to the same type of training that you would use for - let's say a retriever/labrador/spaniel - think more Akita/shiba inu mentality. A dog from the first group would have been very good for her - but the dog is from the latter group and needs an experienced owner. She absolutely cares about her dog, but she came to the wrong person for help.
@@jozigirl7114 Okay seems like you don't get what I was after with my comment. First off, where did I state dogs are not helpful in healing? Leon is not the dog for her plain and simple.. Not sure what you mean by she came to the wrong person for help though? You yourself said dogs are terribly good at helping humans heal correct? Her anxiety does not mesh well with Leons personality, therefore she adopted the wrong dog. Really curious as to whom you believe she should have gone to for help regarding this situation?
@@jozigirl7114 You don't know what the hell you are talking about....what a Moron. I have trained many breeds of dogs to herd 30 head of horses. One of my best herders was a chow / Ger. shep. mix. You people that want to make excuses for breeds of dogs and horses as well are clueless.

That's the truth. I know some parents who need to implement his methods on their children.
@@jamedraa8472 if those parents need to implement that kind of stuff on their children, then need it themselves first.
Hello beauty ❤❤, How are you doing today
Problems dogs ate usually caused by problems owners. To fix the dog, you first have to fix the human.
Everyone needs this training. I trained German Shepherds.
Wow she really did a good job in the end, she overcame her fear and correct Leon👍🏼Great Job Katelyn
This lady found a golden that is aggressive and hates water, a true unicorn.
He's mixed with chow so that adds onto the aggro behavior
He's part Chow. That's a breed that is useless.
The aggression is the chow in him. I had a golden who was afraid of entering water; i am sure that if i had more access, and would have started her earlier, she would have loved it. she only got aggressive when i tried to clean her ears.
The Chow-Chow personality is aggressive.
I actually bred fighting dogs for many years (in a country where it is legal, France) and my best fighting dog was a Golden Retriever. We called him the "Golden Reaper"
Pixar should make a movie about dogs at a dog psychology center, but it's really about mental health. With like a Cesar Millan type character.
❤❤❤
What r u doing guy....sell that million dollar idea
Whoo!! We would watch the heck outta that, though we would have to endure some people trying to stop it on Twitter, Lol
