IT also legitimizes John Oliver as Media because hes reporting about it to his watchers/listeners. When did Comedians become the Media? Was it when Politicians became Celebrities like Obama? Or was it when Journalists became Opinion Hosts, and started reporting on Political Opinions rather then actual researched and factual News? Who determines what is News and what is not anymore? It used to be, that anything out of the ordinary, and News Worthy was reported on, impartially, and with equal and adequate emphasis...no more. The gist was to take from it what you will, however, IF you can't get REAL impartial information to base that opinion on, then any opinion you form will undoubtedly be influenced by what source you use as the base of your thoughts on it. That's common sense, something that is also in short supply in todays Media driven world. That said, it's your personal responsibility to FILTER what Media you consume, how much you take from it and absorb into your personal rhetoric and opinions on Real Events. Any host harboring an Opinion is playing partisan politics...recognize this. Why else would they be so willing to pick at politicians and other opinion hosts? Its Left vs. Right, Right vs. Left hiding behind Comedy and Insults. Its garbage. Period.
