Why don't they know ? The inspiration behind the two characters in the movie is from a novel of some East German and Mozambican authors about two very experienced and clever guys, one is of african origins and another of portugal roots, citizens and policemen of the Mozambic republic, written in the sixties last century. The novel was a local bestseller of the time in the GDR and Mozambic. That's kind of clever. :) But the con man and the chess player are the activities of the ego, the intellectualized part of your mind. If you are looking to increase your cousciousness, you must increase your awareness. The ego is the gatekeeper, not allowing you to increase your awareness, only your pride. It wants to 'rule'. Very much similar to HAL the computer in Kubrick's 2001! It is your friend until you want to run the show, then it will 'kill ' you. Suggestion: "Give him what he wants"
@fntime11 жыл бұрын
You cause the ego pain by embracing your vices. Your own pain. By humiliating yourself. Cutting down your pride, or Greed, or hatred. Or in jakes case all 3 simlutaneously. By changing your beliefs your priorities you throw the ego for a loop. He no longer has anything to hold you by. Not by your ego, or your perceived petty little desires.

The con man is the ID, Jake the Ego and Avis the superego. According to Freud's theory of psychoanalysis, these are the three components of the conscious.
@cmathews59094 жыл бұрын
@@cmathews5909 Thanks, but those are words & I don't think you've experienced what I'm talking about. Freud has made observation that satisfies his theory. The ego, is the enemy & the ego haunts us all but especially the over intellectualized who have made the ego its 'god'. The ego is a process of the brain & mind. In many ways it's a mistake. Because most use it in order to find the 'answers' & it leads you onto the 'merry go round' going around & around and never realizing it.

@fntime4 жыл бұрын
@@fntime Thanks. I checked out your channel but its heavily focused on Ego. Like a chess board, the ego is just a piece in this game. Revolver at the end of the day is a warning to the viewer of Anglo-Saxon model capitalism. Give me a moment to explain. You may not agree with my explanation, but first ask yourself a question. If you were lucky enough to save up $2 million for retirement, would that sum be considered money or currency, and which of the two help maintain the REAL value of your time and hard work? That said, the major plot in this film is that Jake Green has a rare circulatory disease and he must give up his money to save himself. Before we go further, lets look at the Jake's name. Jake derives from Jacob, and in the bible Jake cheated his own hard working brother out of his birth right several times? Green, is short for the colonial greenback or greenback. Greenbacks are examples BANK NOTES and can be considered MONEY when its backed by GOLD. When its not, then greenbacks (dollars) are fiat and are then termed currency - an inherent con. The dollar hasn't been money since the US left the gold standard (and so the Bretton Woods Monetary system) in 1971. Before then, anyone could see gold, if you wanted to exchange your dollars with the bank and each note said so. Now, no one sees gold. So, back to Jake's illness. When the con man and the chess player asks for Jake's money, he instead goes to his doc (the female) and if you pay attention, he is hooked up to two IV bags filled with green and gold to restore his circulatory system. His illness is a economic depression, and do to the fact that the dollar is backed only by faith, when faith is lost, ALL value of the US currency is lost. The con man and the chess player are considered the LENDER OF LAST RESORT, but it's his money that they loan. Better yet, they loan to home owners and businesses they know can't pay them back. fnTime, if google Lender of Last Resort, you'll find that is reserved for central banks. If you don't know The Federal Reserve is the US central bank, but it's not an organ of the US Government - its a private corporation. If you pay attention again, when Jake, Avi and con man are in the car together, they travel in in early Detroit era American vehicle but outside their window is China. When the ID (Con man) saves Jake from Sorter the first time, sorter and slim scene is the same - old American car in China - but when sorter says "something is not right", fi you look out the window you'll see a tower with Bank of America in the Chinese skyline. Now, the gangsta Macha is America and its seriously unnerving that our current president Trump behaves have the same sensibilities, insecurities and taste in gold. If you were fortunate enough to watch the euro version of Revolver, Macha turns on the weak and then destroys himself in fear of his debts. Note in the beginning of the movie, Jake is determined to go after Macha over a large sum of debt.

There are legal limitations to inform on the imprint of such items. I cannot define what is possible according to law in relation to such literature in your locality and country.

@@cmathews5909 Here is a playlist that I have on my channel I think you might find interesting. Good luck! :) kzhead.info/channel/PL8A8A90CE58796386.html
Me too. :)

Mental midget.
the two unknown of the chess master and con master was sitting in front of him all along, when the devil was tagging with you all this while in the solitary confinement. they been observing and studying him to see how he thinks, how he gonna solve this equation of life in this movie. c'est la vie. life is just a metaphor.
Hahajaa wtf😁💪
monochrome depict like real life one noted, chess is transparent
worst chess ever! but, no idea about the movie. cool actors.
Their both chess masters BUT they are not showing their ability especially Alvi who is hiding. If you are a chess player, I doubt you'll like this movie. Your chess mind will rebel at an obvious truth that the intellectualized mind won't allow because it doesn't know their is a problem. Usually just do it more and do it harder.
@fntime I'm no expert at chess but it is ill advised for people that they should not relate to the chess scenes from the movie because there's alot of goofs, check out imdb if you think I'm wrong.
