As kids growing up in Kajiado in the 90s, this was the spectacle of a lifetime, only that it happened every other year and the rally routes were a walking distance from our homes. Watching this floods me with nostalgia. Thank you for uplaoding
I remember pale AIC primary
Why did the sport stop.....
@@This-is-andie. Rally wasn't important to the manufacturers. A costly rally to enter for the teams in a specialized kit.
12:38 For Malaysians (including me), this is a rare footage of Inter Formula (a Malaysian team who owned a workshop that used to operate as WRC Motorsports when this car was made in collaboration with Proton)'s Proton Satria 1.6 Group A rally car with a simple red Silverstone Tyres (a Malaysian tyre manufacturer) as the main sponsor for that team. After this rally, this car was put to rest forever and never to be seen by the public ever again (which unfortunately was also the day of Tan Sri's Yahya death in a helicopter crash) until photos of it emerges on Facebook where the condition of this car has been "destroyed", a quote by a man who is one of the people who built and worked on the car. Thank you for uploading this rare footage!
I just went down a two hour long deep dive into the internet about this story and I haven’t been able to uncover much. Can you please link me to some places where I can learn more? Or if you have them, the images of the destroyed car?
the mix of special stages footage and the team works assistance is really nice and refreshing wow
this is simply one of the best videos i have ever watched. what an era. 💕
Just wow - the quality of this footage is beyond words. Thank you so much for sharing!
Great featuring! Unseen Gold footage in HQ 🤩
Magnificent footage. Thank you SO MUCH for uploading and sharing. I hope you put up every event from 1997, 1998 and 1999 - for me, such a golden era with close championships, the start of the WRCar period, and growing manufacturer interest (Ford, Subaru, Mitsubishi and eventually Toyota in 1997, to including Seat, Skoda and Peugeot in 1999).
¡¡¡ ojala mas videos de estos de TELESPORT ¡¡¡¡¡
The Gen6 Celica is a underrated car in general
You can compare how badass this motorsport than the others, it includes petting cheetah!!

07:01 RIP whatever it was
this is epic
01:03 Mini FTW Quality video 👍👍
Worlds no 1 rally ....kenya safari rally....
Interesting how 90s camera beats those of 2023 UFO sightings in quality especially at a time when everyone now have a better camera in their pockets
Go Go Sega Rally!
Enjoy your stay
I feel like I lived in the wrong era
Why there is the two generation of Celica in the same rally?
Because back then homologations were valid for like 20 years, and rallying was not a corporate fake spectacle. Private teams often used older generation cars. They kind of fell out of business between 2005 and 2010, but untill then, you could see several generations fighting in the same rally.
👋😎👍💎
