I was literally confused as it was boring for the first two minutes and then randomly everything picks up. Definitely a great overtime filled with breakaways, weird bounces, close chances, great saves, broken stick, sticks flying, markstrom missed penalty
There was only 1 good save. The rest were on super weak shots.
This is what’s great about 3 on 3 OT. The flow of the game can change at the drop of a hat
10 minute 3 on 3 OT all the way
This was so epic what a save by demko end to end action thank you canucks and thank you cheech for the memories
Hell of a game for my first game! Couldn't stay in my seat for more than 10 seconds at a time
Was there at the game love the crowd❤ You can really feel the emotions in the building
markstrom got lucky with that call, damn.
It is not luckyyit is just poor nhl referees
🎉more high quality officiating
Not lucky, just clever and the ref made the right call. Marky never plays the puck illegally, all he does outside the trapezoid is get good body position on Petey and lift his stick the second he attempts to take possession. Then waits til the puck is legal again to clear it away
@@BCMSi it definitely touches Markstrom's stick after he lifts Beauvillier's stick.
@@BCMSi Ya youre a blind bat. The puck hits his stick, while he is also interfering with Beau outside of the trapezoid. Watch again clown
Wow Van goalie made some crazy saves in OT danm
please rate a review for our 1st story on webpage thankyou!!! have a good time mercytricks.com/canucks-so-victory-lowers-flames-playoff-chances-2023/
4:07 Markstrom played the puck outside the trapezoid...
yup
Needed refs help once again
100% hit his stick in the trapezoid, should have been called....course the game never should have even made it to OT but thats another story
Canucks vs Calgary Refs again
This might've been the factor that gets the jets into the playoffs, and the flames a bitter ending
this was an OK game to lose. The big factor would be the Flames dropping 3 games to chicago
Or the 15 other ot losses lol
@@Skynexstar I mean this game and the last against the Canucks are huge factors and you should’ve won both in regulation with the obviously help from officiating. It’s legit insane how much they have done to help and y’all can’t even make it work effectively
Can't get enough of the skate jerseys.
I missed the game except for the overtime. After it was over I thought holy crap, was the entire game like this? Had to watch the extended highlights as soon as they were posted 😄
I went to this game tonight, Holy Cow that OT was such an intense time! Demko crushed it!!! That Glove save in regulation too!! Money😎
Next season will be very fun with a healthy DEMKO.
Plus that amazing elbow to keep the puck out of the net when it almost bounced in, in the 3rd period. Maybe save of the year candidate, imo.
@@joelface The one that he hit onto the top of the net?! Absolutely! The glove save, that save, and the left to right pad save in OT, Demko was IN...SANE
@@bleedingedge98 Yes! He elbows it onto the top of the net. Love a totally reactionary save like that.
same, dude we got our moneys worth that night 200%
Absolutely overtime of the year! Ik damn well every Flames and Canucks fans hearts were racing after every close chance 🙉🙊
Marksbum should’ve been given a penalty in OT
No it's not
Lmao canucks fans hearts should be racing for a Flames goal. Useless points for them.
Nah, Sabres vs. Wild earlier in the year was crazier
@@nhlflames5717 Helping to deny the Flames a spot in the playoffs is more important than the draft.
I was here. On my feet the whole time
Same! It was intense in that building!! Plus that Glove save in regulation was ridiculous!!
Markstrom got lucky, he clearly played that puck outside of the trapezoid.
I’m rather confused how the refs were this blind to say play one when pen do them was CLEARLY right next to the action
Try to imagine it from his perspective. There’s Two giant NHL players in-between his POV and the puck, he probably couldn’t see Markstrom play the puck
@@wildcat12000 Fair enough, it's just frustrating in the moment as a Canucks fan.
One replay of it showed Pettersson standing by the other referee pointing out the call and they were outside or near the blueline ffs, it was that obvious!!
And if not, he boxed out the offensive player for at least an interference call. If you are not permitted to play the puck, is it legal to impede another who is? idk
most entertaining overtime I've ever seen.
you've seen very few
@@user-bm6cm4ii3m from the Canucks this year is what I meant to say.
Demko made 3 saves of the year in one game.
If it were a Toronto goalie SportsNet would have a 30 minute documentary through the week on it.
I think canucks found something in Akita Hirose.
This was an exciting game to watch
Kinda fun when both teams just say let's just go for it .
I was there at the game, it was amazing, then the shootout but the Canucks was very well done
Yeah that was a rad overtime!
The most exciting OT that didn't produce a goal!
Wow!
Love you Cheech! thank you for all the years. It will never be quite the same but grateful for the time he spent here💚💙🤍
And then the mood of the OT was brought all the way back down by a shootout.
Real thrilling
Good old fire wagon, barn burner hockey! 🤠
4:14 shades of Kirk!
As soon as Hughes touches the puck, the game changes.
JT Miller is another game breaker with great vision and finish, though he did miss in this game as Hughes did too..
Ask the commentators and crowd
The Wild vs. Sabres OT earlier in the year was pretty darn crazy too
Everyone was literally on the edge of their seats. So glad we handed them the L
How could it be OT of the year without a freaking goal? Sure it was exciting but there is nothing worse than an OT that doesn't ultimately solve it.
OT of the year, 2023 in the resolution of the year, 2005.
markstrom did have the puck fall on his stick in the trapezoid... canucks shouldve had a power play for the final minute of OT
Fans were booing during the first two minutes.
Markstrom should have been penalized without question but game management with the Flames being so close to a playoff spot.
Kirk mclean like save against flames again
I don’t know how markstrom didn’t get a penalty, that’s my question
Ref had some drinks with him after the game. He was literally standing 6 inches as he waves his hands like a moron.while he clearly saw markstrom out of the trapezoid too. Crazy OT outside of the expected trash refing though.
It's not markstroms stick that pops the puck up.
Wool raccoon lol 😂 needed 4 points my boy
@WoolRaccoon what ever makes you sleep at night flames suck you said oilers sucked so many times this yr so suck it
Wonder why there was no call on Marky? Was it in the trapezoid or not?
Yep
Three right-handed vs three left-handed. It would be interesting to know how often that has happened.
Nothing like some good quality reffing for the flames. Couldn’t even pull off back to back wins against the Canucks with the refs jerking them to the moon and back
This is why we need 10 mins of overtime.
How the hell do the refs hot called markstrom penalty
Hesitation is like a spice, although it taste great, too much ruins it.
this was one of the best canuck games i ever went , it was insane atmosphere like always was nuts (despite all the stupid flames fans that showed up lol like usually theres quite a few but there was like alot that game which pissed me off cause it was our fan appriceation night LOL) we still out played them on ice and our fans out cheered them in the stands
Zero shots in the first two mins. You want to see excitement? Watch the Oilers in OT
Enjoy the offseason Flames! Come back stronger next year.
Chill. It aint over yet.
@Chubbs77 yes it is
@@Eric.43 it literally isn't lol
@@Eric.43 All that has to happen is Flames beat two beatable teams and Winnipeg lose to the Avs and Wild. It's not absurdly unlikely, but it has to break just right.
@@phillipwatts1679 3 points in 3 games is all the jets need they 100% can beat the sharks and they just need to take a game to ot against avs or wild, don't get your hopes up
Though great, calling this overtime of the year is definitely clickbait. We've all seen many exciting 3v3 overtimes. The NHL needs to do away with the lame shootouts, and extend 3v3 OT to 10m - end of story.
Not quite. Though there have definitely been less exciting ones.
Who's paying off the refs?? Someone on Calgary is
Flames playoff hopes are done.
Well, it's a thriller for sure. Not sure if it's OT of the year worthy.
I know it's overtime but I don't know how Markstrom got away with that interference
It wasn’t so much interference as it was him handling the puck outside the trapezoid
It's not markstrom stick that pops the puck up.
kadri shooting on a 3 on 1 and missing the net is inexcusable, who does the guy think he is, Pastrnak or Rantanen?
Some decent chances. But lots of OTs are like this. Most of the Oilers OTs are more interesting than this with chances and breakaways.
This is why we need more overtime. Not a skills competition.
I'm tired just watching. Can't imagine those guys on the ice. Must've been gassed
There have probably been several OTs like this all year. It's mostly teams doing nothing because they're afraid to lose possession, but sometimes things open up and we get some rushes and breakaways. But the chances in this one weren't even that close, a couple misses and a couple relatively easy saves.
I agree with the stuff about most other OT's are just possesion, people are just saying this is the best simply cause of the amount of chances. But there is no way you can convince any 4:15 demko's save on Kadri was a easy save.
It should be 3 on 3 the whole game! More people would watch hockey then
missed handled pass and missing net, whats the thriller?
Amount of good chances back and forth
@@JayJayAviation all missed lol
@@zzii0327 demko’s robbery of kadri
Last two games vs the Canucks the officials cheated to try to keep calgary's slim hopes alive, pathetic.
Damn, I stop watching at 2-0 Vancouver.
Click bait title
Quiero que vengas
Almost 3 minutes until the first shot on net = “OT of the year”. A lot of skating, a lot of shots not on net, a lot of bad hockey being played early on😂
NHL referees are advised before games, it's been abundantly clear for more than a decade. There would be a performance Gold Standard grading system in place including suspensions, fines, demotions and dismisals. But no!
Wow, blatant penalty/cheating not called.
Not that thrilled with this one. I mean no shots for over 2 minutes then the shot attempts all missed the net.
why canucks keep miller and trade borvat???
Bring back hockey, it's too easy to rig games 3v3.
Hope we can win Conner Bedard for low percentage chance 😅
Huge jets win
Ok.. was exciting I guess but 2 mins of snooze...
No chance thats OT of the year. One exciting minute out of five and only a couple decent chances
More like hot potato of the year imo.
LMMMMAO this was legit crippie fight, literally garbage hockey
Definitely not the OT of the year.
Overtime of the year lmao. There was 1 good chance, kadri on the 2 on 1. Every other break away or odd man rush either missed the net, or was a weak shot on net. This is only overtime of the year for bottom feeders
a movie i've seen far too many times. coughing up a multiple goal lead.
Did Calgary win their division?
Vancouver and it's woke fans😊😊
