The Inka Avalanche is a Mass Start Downhill Race. 300 mountain bikers racing all together to finish 15 kilometers below, in the famous sacred Valley - Peru.
After I won the first final race run, I decided to start from the really rear for the second race run, behind all the other riders. My challenge was to catch everybody !

  • He was fast AF starting from the back. Starting from the front, he absolutely murdered that trail and left the zip code on everyone. 2nd place was far enough back that Dude had time for a beer after giving his bike to those kids. It seemed like almost 5 minutes. Even he started looking for the next guy after he chilled with the kids. That's serious training right there. You gotta be on the bike a lot to have that kind of stamina. He hardly coasted. He was mashing those pedals on everything, including the downhills. Total freak.

I’m unsure if you get $1000 dollars for getting first place but either way I don’t see a problem with him racing and being a try hard when he clearly showed respect and the end of the race and crossed the line with the other person together

    • In summer, Colorado ski resorts turn into Downhill Mountain Bike resorts (lifts and all). As an amateur, I used to go in the early 2000s and experience a lot of friendliness and general goodwill among the riders I encountered. I don't know if it's just the vibe that comes with people that do the sport, but it was always an awesome experience riding with strangers - everyone was pretty supportive and celebrated each other's riding. Seems to be the general case in all of the videos I have seen to date.

I watch him at Megavalanche where they started on top of a mountain racing down on a wide snow & ice ski slope there he also could by-pass most but there it takes the most of risk and some big balls because of much higher speeds and on smallest mistake the fall is longer by sliding on the ski-slope and would be hard to re-gain the lost positions until the end of the race since latter the trail-track gets very steep & narrow ..

  • The speed of the section at 29:25 blows. my. mind. I love how he gets to the road after ripping that section and checks to see if anyone is behind him. At that speed, there ain't NOBODY there Kilian, made me LOL

  • Our man is surely on a hoverbike... there are parts where we can see the other competitors in front of the camera, swerving and struggling with obstacles and twists and turns and rocks..... and Kilian just sails over everything like a breeze. Surreal riding skill.

    • There is a few times where he looks like he's about to lose it. you can see his front wheel suddenly jerk to the sides. but he corrects it with such speed and precision

  • truly one of the best mountain bikers around, the pace, endurance, agility and precision is just next level and no one can compete, especially from starting all the way at the back even like 50 meters away from the last person, he still manages to overtake everyone and with skill too makes it look so easy that anyone could do it but theres so much experience in this guy that to even be able to match him would take years and years off had work to just even get close to his level of skill

    @juliank117@juliank117 Жыл бұрын
    • Starting so far back was a really smart strategy, it allowed him to pass the rear pack in one fell swoop along the barrier ribbon because he already had a fair bit of speed, relatively speaking.

  • I used MTB myself when I was a teenager. Sadly after years of computer desktop work my lower back is knackered, so when I started watching this, it brought back fond memories 🙏🏼 As for the runs I was in absolute awe just how fast and flowing you were, I didn't think I would watch it all but in the end I wanted more, superb performance, excellent footage, can't wait to the next videos, hopefully with less dogs barking at you on the way down 😅
