  • Twitch Ads directly drive me off the platform every time. They are intrusive, rude, loud and obnoxious. Never mind the fact that if you accidentally refresh a stream you can get hit with 5 minutes of unskippable ads.

      @Honerkamp@Honerkamp Жыл бұрын
  • I write this from a small content creators perspective. When I streamed on Twitch I had around 350 to 400 each stream. Since moving to KZhead 3 months ago I average between 30 to 50. The platform has a terrible user experience with next to no integrations and those it does have rarely work. Its worst for discoverability. I have been told by viewers on multiple times that my stream doesn't even show in the category I am streaming to. The reason I feel compelled to write this is the larger streamers who move across do not rely on the discoverability that us mere mortals at the lower end depend on. Grass roots streaming on KZhead is not a thing. I just thought some people may find that useful. Sorry for the epic amounts of text!!

    @ChottoDragon@ChottoDragon Жыл бұрын

  • There NEEDS to be a separate KZhead Streaming app. They can connect it however they want to the original app, getting advice from creators and advertisers. It is just WAY WAY WAY too hard to do KZhead long form videos, shorts, community posts and streaming all on the one app and have it a good navigation experience. I don't see how it will ever be possible. Especially because if people are watching a stream and get bored, there is fully made, creative, edited, fast paced videos that are much more attention grabbing literally on the exact same page. Just have a separate, CONNECTED KZhead brand app for streaming, it will fix majority of the issues (once you get all the channels and their connections with the OG app perfected).

If the average KZhead frog isn’t used to that I totally understand why you would click off. Whereas twitch you’re going in to watch a video that could lose quality or have time where it’s slower. It took Ludwig so long to realize that with streams, VODs and videos on the same platform (not necessarily channel), you're able to maximize engagement by directing live viewers to well produced content that is about to premiere. Now I wonder when Ludwig will learn to make an empty stream reservation for "offline chat".

Most of the people they've gotten are people that are not very deep into twitch chat culture, which makes the switch for streamers a lot easier, since they don't have to worry about their community drastically changing when they switch

    @joriz2012@joriz2012 Жыл бұрын
    • For sure. Getting otk and otk adjacent people to switch over is probably not possible since they are much more ingrained in twitch. People in the bubble of sykkuno, Rae, fuslie and so on have repeatedly criticized twitch chat culture, especially in gta rp related stuff, and while this move won’t fix that I’ve heard streamers say the chat on yt isn’t as bad mostly. twitch chat has its positives for sure. the streamers switching over still engage with their chat but even when they were on twitch they more and more relied on themselves for content. They’re not like mizkif who are able to go hours on end with literally just their chat. And they don’t need to since they have to stream less hours. And I haven’t seen a yt streamer who didn’t use that for making more quality content on stream or videos.

This guy had 144 people enter the song contest and for the sake of the time, had his moderators make a cut to 32 songs. This was an unpopular decision with those that had entered the contest and didn’t make the cut because everyone assumed the songs would at least be played on stream making the hours of work worth it no matter the result. This got a little bit of negative attention in his Reddit but he could have kept it the way it was and it would have blew over in a week. BUT! To make about 100 people in his community happy, he decided to listen to every song entered ON STREAM. I had other contestants blowing me up on discord about what was happening and it was a super exciting moment for all of us. • I think that before making the switch from Twitch to KZhead, a streamer must first and foremost ask the question of, "why am I switching?" They should consider what the KZhead platform is. It is a bunch of videos made by people/content creators. As a streamer you will have to compete with these people. If all you do is stream? Then don't make the switch, you're better off on Twitch. If you make videos? Like have an editor or you are your editor that makes compilation videos or what you stream turns into a video or if you record videos yourself. Then make the switch. XQC is what I would deem as a prime example, all he does is stream. He doesn't edit videos and upload them to KZhead or records a video for the expressed purpose to upload it to KZhead later, he just streams. He should stay on Twitch. While on the other hand, Ludwig. He hits record and makes videos for the express intent to upload them onto KZhead. He made the switch and he is able to do more because of it. The intention of the switch should determine if you do. No intention to make videos, then don't. Intention to make videos, then do.

Ive expected the Middle east or european audience to be my core but I got lucky what I wanted to say was, when some of the core problems with twitch (ads being intrusive) are no longer a problem, it makes it so that creators have to get, well... creative and for those communities to move over to youtube in the future, it would mean that twitch needs to screw up even more than what they already have done. the next few years is going to be intresting to observe

Also, the VOD watching experience on KZhead, is MUCH smoother than it is on twitch, whether it's browser or mobile! watching VODs on mobile actually PISSES ME OFF, so I never go on there for past streams, so I basically almost never watch anything on twitch unless I go out of my way and make time for a planned stream or something.... and even those i can't catch nowadays. • I feel like a current issue with Truffle, at least for me, is that the settings to change certain things like color (which is an option i really like on twitch.) seem to be non-intuitive or non-existent in the settings. There are a few other things that seem to be missing as well but i don't remember what those things are off the top of my head, hopefully somebody else could add more to what i'm talking about. I also think it should be an option whether to see the pig icon within youtube, possibly even what it looks like and where it is from a list of options would be very nice.

  • One thing not talked about a great deal is the impact that Vtubers have on KZhead streaming. To this day they still have some of the most watched KZhead streams ever. There are hundreds of thousands of people watching vtubers during any given hour of the day and more of those channels are moving over to KZhead. Hololive and Nijisanji especially have been rapidly growing in the youtube live streaming sphere. Now that Twitch has gotten rid of the forced exclusivity even more have jumped to youtube.

  • I think both platforms are killing themselves. They’ve both been repeatedly making terrible decisions nobody likes, and both are mostly loved for their content creators, not the platform itself. I hope both get better, but I feel like it’s only going downhill from here.

    • The problem here is where are you going to go? There is no other major streaming site. Although i do agree that both platforms have their problems. Twitch atm is really shooting themselves in the foot right now with not enforcing their own rules. Atm twitch are killing themselves so much faster. So its not when are they going die, its when is 1 going to die because the viewership will just migrate to the one that is alive. Atm that looks like youtube to me

      @hamchurger4566@hamchurger4566 Жыл бұрын
  • Viewership really doesn't matter via you are live or off-line... you can go live, then after it's live you can still get views... or make a video and still get viewers... that's the beauty of KZhead it's 24/7 and you don't have to be on KZhead live! You can make the bag while sleeping! lol What Ludz said is true, you have more time to create and grow your community for your fans and add different channels for more content about different subjects, part of your own eco-system!

  • It might just be luck but recently I’ve been seeing streamers I’ve subscribed to in my recommended videos on the side and on my home page way more. I think I’ve clicked over a bunch more but I don’t tend to stick around long since I usually have a queue of more videos I want to watch but I’m at least way more aware and checking in and maybe catching an ad. Off the top of my head I think I’ve maybe seen two streams recommended of people I wasn’t subscribed to over the course of the entire summer so I don’t think that’s really changed at all but now I’m at least aware that like you are live while I’m here.

  • I think that most people will change their lifestreaming platform when KZhead will asure them its gonna be at least as 90% as the broadcast experience that Twitch gives. Having streamers that say the new features that KZhead is bringing is nice, however, I think they have to do it their own.
