@@TheWolfMattAnd the C7 Z06/ZR1 are the fastest vettes mod for mod you can buy lmao. I wonder how the C8 Z06 pairs with the C6Z06 mod for mod, N/A vs N/A. My C6Z06 on my old heads/Cams E85 setup made 650+ WHP, weighed 3140 lbs full weight without me in it. The new C8 Z06 apparently weighs 3650 lbs but it has a faster shifting trans compared the C6.
@@TheWolfMattThe problem is the C7s however is the trans, 5th gear just slows the entire car down and there’s not as much support as the 6L80/6L90 trans.
@@aimxdy8680 Didn't the C7's come with either a M7 or 8L90 trans? Only the ZL1's got the 10L90 (18 or 19 and up) which was far superior to the 8L90. I still like the row of the gears done by myself opposed to some computer deciding on where it wants to put the power in each gear.

Add a cam, performance air intake, msd manifold, exhaust system and it'll wake up an entire neighborhood.
Okay the algorithm is messed up if a channel with 300k+ subs posts a 7.2L LS7 video and gets 8k views. This is so badass.
maybe because homie has 7.2L… i barely clicked on the video and clicked out when he said zed as an american. its a 7.0 and car guys know that barely means anything, because CID is the true size of the engine. also zed? lol nothing wrong with that but comes off as trying a little much

I switched from MK4 single turbo supra to C6 Z06 and it was a very good decision. You can't beat N/A reaction.

Nice Z and cool mods. I like that Graham kept it N/A. Keeps the character of the LS7, he just evolved it. And that sound, I love it! I'm also a proud owner of a C6 Z06 Wil Cooksey 427 Limited Edition. So I know what's like to drive one of these. Seven years of ownership and it still never gets old.😁 I'll never ever sell it.

I've got an 03 Z06 with 590 RWHP. Since I have stock wheels/tires I cannot do digs but rolls on the freeway are fun. Nothing better than having my old Vette spank new muscle cars.
C6 was the peak of Corvette. No other generation comes even close imo.
I’d argue C7 is close if you only care about performance wise, the LT4 motor can handle more power than any LS9/LS7/LS3. LT4s have made 1300+ WHP on stock bottom end and now run 6.9 second 1/4 miles on a OEM block, I believe sleeved. You need an LSX to do such thing lmao.
@aimxdy8680 good luck keeping your engine clean with 1300whp on a stock LT4. Must have to top off coolant every pass. Lol. You do know the block castings are no different in strength between any of the LS and LT series. All sleeves were cast iron. A 1300whp street vette of any L series engine should have ductile iron sleeves a billet crank and billet girdle for longevity at that power level.

@@DziadekMroz6666 Also no other Corvette has the naturally aspirated potential of a C6 Z06. Hell, there are even videos of naturally aspirated C6 Z06 beating the Tesla Plaid in acceleration from a roll.
@aimxdy8680 with the C6Z, it's about being a drivers car, not about max horsepower. In some areas the C7 is an improvement, but there is a reason that C6's are still setting lap records today (C7's not so much)

@@dannythompson1948 loud exhausts are great when everyone is onboard with the idea, which is not the real world. Plus there's much more to exhausts than just make it as free flowing as possible.

I drove a 2006 same color back in 2006, and that 505 hp was a beast. I can only imagine another 200. The drum beat of that cam is music to the ears. Plus, the exhaust note is killer with that 6spd manual.
C6 and C7 are hands down the best vettes ever made in regard to aesthetics, sounds, performance and handling. Cannot even fathom how people get excited over the C8. 😂
C7 angles ruin it. New GM management and designers. It looks okay now but it's not timeless.
C6 and C2 are the best for me. C2 L88 was the peak 60s American car outside of the unobtainable GT40 and the C6 is carried by Zs.

It’s a USD $27,000 build including all parts and labor in the NY area. Other places you will save about $2,500 in labor
FYI, full head cam intake exhaust is 10-12k in parts. Heads 3-5k Headers $2500 Ported MSD and TB $25-2700 Cam and supporting mods like trunnion -1k -----‐------------------------------ Other misc stuff if you do it like oil pump, timing chain, catch can - $700 Add new ls7 lifters or caddy race $500 Clutch $1500-2k ---------------------- Then labor if you're not doing it yourself 3-5k depending on Clutch. You will have 580-620 wheel depending on dyno, cam specs, heads.

@@RoadsUntraveled Indeed. I'm just torn between color schemes from either the carbon metallic grey or velocity yellow. Has to be 08-12 (13 has too many electrical nannies).
Had a slightly modded C-6 Z51 6spd and the Doug Rippie Bilsteins really made a huge difference in how the car handled on mountain roads in CO and on track if you don't quite have the $ to go coilovers. Also can highly recommend the MGW shifter.

This modded C6Z is more reliable than stock.
@z-ra this. I'd do heads cam on one from the start. From there you don't gotta worry about it if it's maintained.
Look into AFM issues on C7. Now you're talking $. New heads on LS7 and Bob's your uncle :-)
Vipers are sweet but prices are wild right now and parts, especially body and interior parts are crazy expensive. C6Zo6 is a beast.

One of the best. I have a C6Z with heads/cam and everything else, plus a 991.2 GT3 with a 6 speed. NA screamers. Both catless and loud.

The LS 7 motor was probably the best V-8 muscle car engine Chevy ever made. He's right, it's the one motor that sounds so freaking good just as an N/A that you almost don't need to do anything with it. It's pretty bad@$$ just the way it is...and the sound is legendary.

I wasn't a huge Corvette fan but I'm a huge car head and I had a yellow c5 Vette and a Corvettible sting ray toy model car and those things were beautiful props to Chevy!😅🔥

Been my dream car for awhile now. I currently have a 2015 Cadillac ATS premium performance RWD with the 3.6 and up dor sale to buy a C6 Z06! I prefer black but that yellow is a close second! Lol. Car in video is perfect

im daily driving a c6 i just picked up, thompson motorsports 427 stroker and its manual, incredibly fun and i get way better MPG than my fbo v2 sedan did lol now all i need is a set of new balance grass stained shoes and jorts

In my humble opinion, The C6 ZR1, C6 ZO6 and C7 ZR1 are the best three Corvettes in the modern era. In that order. That pushrod LS7 427 motor and the LS9/LT5 6.2L supercharged V8 with a cross-plane crankshaft. Exhilarating low-end torque, unbelievable power, and lightning quick acceleration are just some of the amazing feats in these cars. Ford has absolutely nothing on these beasts.

The engine sound is perfect. I've tried many exhaust combinations on my c6z. Can you share what setup he has after the kooks headers? Those look like corsa extreme mufflers but curious aboit cats and X or H pipe. Tell me and i'll buy it all tomorrow!
It's absolutely a great video for someone like myself who has the CTS V and wants a corvette with a manual, which is my only disappointment with the 2018 CTS V models.
Disappointed at my1st ride in a V...the tire/road noise was as bad as a Honda. NIce looking cars though
@gordocarbo What year was the V and what type of tired because all season tires are cery noisy, I find the summer tires by Michilan sport cup 2 summer tires are rather quiet. Mines had some bs Potenza tires on it when I bought it. I got rid of those after a month
I have a 2011 Z06 with stock LS7 (heads rebuilt) and Maggie Heartbeat blower. Smooth TQ curve. 500 plus wheel TQ from 2500 RPM and equal peak HP and TQ. Idles like stock, stump pulling TQ from off idle like stock cause... is stock. Talk about easy to drive.

I wouldn't even know what to do with that much power . But a basically stock C6 is my dream car . I've owned four Camaro's so far , but no Corvette yet . 400 horsepower would be perfect , 700 is too much to be practical in any way .

Eh, I modded my base C6 up to about 470 wheel. It's pretty much the perfect about of stupid for the streets. The stock 370(ish) wheel kinda got a little boring. 700 would 💯 be pointless for anything under 100mph though.

I've got a base C6 (Z51) that I threw a cam and headers at and it's a lot of fun. I wish I had the wide body and LS7, but it's 90% as good for quite a lot less. My cam is annoying as heck just cruising on the road, although that may be a tuning issue.

11:47 I was going to get an M5 but realized they need new main caps after 120k miles. Nothing beats built over bought. I have seen C3 Vettes come back in modern style however sometimes get tired of the same ol same ol factory cars still trying to wow us. 11:47.

The prices for these C6 Z06s in Canada is not really cheaper than C7 Stingrays. Or even a brand new base Mustang GT. I get that it's a 7.0 Litre engine but it's not some spectacular deal when comparing to newer Camaros, Corvettes, and Mustangs.

If you own a stock C6 Z06, seriously look into having the heads done. No crate LS7's being built by GM.
How do you like the DRM bilstein shocks? I heard they are a little too stiff for street but are really good for track. I am considering a set for my vette. What is your overall opinion regarding the DRM's specifically?

Nicely put together car. Can tell its a reliability build, you can definitely make well over 700hp in a 441 LS7 with h/c/i But 700 is plenty for a c6z. No need to push it to 800 or 900 hp
