LOL. I thought that was odd too! Can of corn 🌽 🥫
So what does the symbol at the end mean?
@@paulwollenzein-zn1lh means you're geh
Could have used the can of corn to catch some carp. “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Sell a man a fish and a man knows where he can buy a fish.
Whose gonna think about that when they haven't eaten in days?🤦🏽♀ Cmon.🙄
Wrong, teach a man to fish and he'll sit by a body of water and get drunk
@@charlespeterson778 - Not necessarily, that depends on the whose doing the fishing.🤔
Life time of carp???.
I love it, but come on, he finds a spotless lexus along a main route, WITH a can of corn in the glove box?! I still liked it.
Could be due to times are hard whoever had the Lexus made a run for it hadn't been there long.my kids have stuck more ridiculous stuff in my Lexus glove box lol from Gummi worms to coloring crayons lol😅
The number of people who don't realize that the corn in the car was bait for the 'butcher' psycho is surprising.
The last scene...WOW! The portrayal of sheer raw human emotion was as good as anything I've seen. Superb acting right there.
Thank you! I’ll let em know!
Agreed. House scene for me. Unable to leave the room and unable to accept the utter helplessness and unfairness. Brilliant work.
I know this movie is ficshional....buttttt if it was me I think I would climb a tree at night to sleep and tie my self to the branches so I don't fall out .
I mean not a bad idea haha
Some trees have branches that make like an upside down tripod, and you can sleep in the V of where they join the main trunk. Lots of great trees in that beautiful country.
FYI: correct spelling is fictional. At least you got the sounds right so we knew what word you were going for. Not trying to be rude, just like helping others spell correctly. I’m the family dictionary. I have been since I was very young. 🤓
I totally would not do the tree thing; but I also wouldn't be lighting fires and getting drunk either.
Kentucky is an awesome place to be during the apocalypse!,,,
That's where I live, northern Kentucky :) I'm from Central Kentucky, though, north of Lexington.
@@atlantic_love hmmm we are not far from each other. I’m in Bagdad
So is rural Indiana where I live but I’m from western Kentucky
I'm in Central KY, a little south of Lexington. Been here all my life.
1 never listen to someone on the radio i knew he was walking into a trap or ambush, 2 travel at night under the cover of darkness don't travel during the day unless your fleeing, 3 if you do set up camp stealth camp stay hidden fires give away your position, they are always making the biggest mistakes which makes me wonder how they even survived as long as they did
Don't forget, it would appear that they left two rifles in the vehicle they escaped with
I spend an ungodly amount of time watching post apocalyptic short films on KZhead and this is by far my favorite one. Great work, great production and great acting. I'd love to see a part 2.
Thank you man, appreciate that. Stay tuned! Definitely more to come!

Who puts the seatbelt on in post-apocalyptic America?
Opens the can or corn. Steve's voice suddenly appears out of no where "Nice hiss!" Those who know, know.
All post-apocalyptic films show one single survivor. That's very improbable.
Yes, but Joseph picks up some companions along the way!
Idk if you failed to notice the guy who captured and planning on killing the main character plus his whole crew, along with the guy who saved him and his sister who picked them up? And that was just in a small rural area. So he was obviously far from the " lone survivor."...You gots to work on paying better attention there bud 😂
All of you killed this!!! Good work
Much appreciated!!
Remember anything is possible with a can of corn.
Yes
Damn, This was AWESOME. I have to agree that this SF was better than most of the stuff on NetFlix or Waling Dead. Great job, can't wait till part 2

Moral of story... Don't create enemies.
Am I the only suffering viewer who wondered why red plaid “Brother” guy had random holes in a brand new, pure white undershirt?
So powerful, so intense. I'll be reeling from this one for quite a while. Brilliantly done.❤

Who carries around a can of corn in the glove box of a Lexus?
Someone who really likes corn
@@StrongCore.Productions LOL!!
that was my question to myself when I saw that scene.
Puts his seat belt on in Red truck. Lol
Obviously your broke ass has never owned a Lexus, that’s factory corn
Can't hold onto a gun, never looks around, sits by a fire at night like he's on a boy scout feild trip. All on i can of corn and no toilet paper...... Ok flick.
Well, IDK about other people, but I've never been interested in watching someone take a dump. Oh, and plant leaves or moss can be used as TP.

this dude deserves an oscar fr class acting
Never thought or knew of anyone doing that but from now on I'll keep corn in my glove box
These people knew nothing about survival or tactics. When the boy got out of prison he was shaven and the story picks up months later about 4-6 months later by how much his hair had grown out. You would think the character would have learned a few things about survival and living off the land by now and how to approach strangers. I will say the cinematography work looked professional.
Yes that is true, definitely reflects the minimal budget and resources- Appreciate the feedback, hope you stick around!
wow! how did this pass by me? easily in my top five of short films and I am the nerd who tries to catch every single post apocalyptic film as they come out. from the acting the clearly thought out directing, the building up plot which had multiple climaxes and many different angles both emotionally and action-wise. the camera work was spectacular, the score was right on cue with every scene. you completely took advantage of every single second of the film with nothing left to waste. there was always something to look back at. which I suppose is why I watched it four times I subscribed after the first viewing and looking forward to checking out what else you have out there. I could go into way more details of the things that I caught on to and enjoyed about the film, but that would be a hell of a long post / comment and I don't think you really need to read a book just to know how good your short film is. I absolutely enjoyed it thank you.
Thank you so much. This comment means so much to all of us. Hope you stick around to see more!

A clear XX System manifestation. 👏
Why did they leave the weapons in the vehicle...?
Was good and you know he was going to go after the ones that left their tag!
Thank you and absolutely… almost like it opens it up for a second movie 😉
This has all the post apocalyptic cliches plot lines ever.
The sheer rage at the end was so intense, incredibly done
Alone with a campfire is a great way to get got. It would be better to dig a small.hole, and build a tiny fire, that you then string up ponchos either around the sides to lessen the signature or poncho on top of you and the fire in short increments to stay vigilant and warmISH, embrace the suck.
A fantastic effort making this short film, the emmotions and the plot ran sweetly together, shame they never set a sentry on the night scene, but thats life huh. 10/10

This movie reminds me of the game I've been playing lately, DayZ.
Really good short film. I love the post apocalyptic genre. Beautifully shot and acted. The only thing was that you can tell the lead actor has never used a shovel or dug a hole in his life lol. Who digs a hole like that? Haha. Dude put the tip of the shovel on the ground, hold the shovel straight up and down or slightly tilted towards, and use your foot and body weight to drive the shovel into the ground, don't waste all your energy slamming the shovel into the ground repeatedly only using arm strength barely getting any penetration. Work smarter not harder brother
Extremely well-filmed and acted. However the audio track is so muddy I wished for subtitles. I gave up counting the multiple continuity problems after 8 minutes.: It's a beautiful autumn day with red and orange fall foliage at 2:20 bridge crossing. At 2:49 actor appears clean shaven. At 3:30 he has a beard. By 6:15 he has a full beard. Next scene at 7:02 it is verdant summer in the woods. Lead actors beard is much fuller in second segment (following red arrows) than the preceeding campfire scene. The psyco-butcher cannibal scene has been overdone in 100's of post-apocalypse genre films. Good character development for the lead charctor "Joseph". Scene at 35:30 elevates this film from amaturish to thought-provoking and emotionally powerful. What is there when all hope is lost? All in all, a sucessful film effort with the sound-track being the primary critique. I think everyone involved on this project did an exceptionally competent job. Thank you!
Hey- thank you so much for your feedback!! It is always good to have things to improve on! Thanks for watching, hope you stick around!
Continuity problems? That was the progression of time displayed to show how long he had been on the road.

It would be scary by yourself not knowing if you'd die walking along
In a SHTF situation stay in defendable location, band together with friends/relatives/neighbors. Your priorities are water, food, shelter. If you absolutely must strike out then travel at night and stay low profile in the day. Your personal carrying capacity is limited to what you can lug with you, food water, tent, maybe a pistol and small amount of ammunition. Avoid fights of any kind. Pumped gasoline no longer exists so tooling around in a bright red Dodge Ram on infinite fuel and having firefights with assault rifles spraying away on full auto is just about the most ludicrously unrealistic thing imaginable. Here's a tip to gun nuts : your toys aren't going to save you.
Maybe for amateur gun owners but people with skill and self control understand the dynamics involved and the limitations. You choose your weapons accordingly.
First rule when world goes shit, don’t try contact with people.

This is better acted, more well written, and more intriguing than the last 6 years of Walking Dead combined! Kudos Brennan Collins!
His .45 is fk'd but the rifle is nice (despite the fact the bottom of the mag is missing...well...at least you got one shot)! I could not imagine rucking through the world with a .50cal ammo can banging into my ass at every step I take--bro, redistribute the ammo as high as you can in your backpack (towards the center of your back if you can) and loose the can. GREAT VID! Thanks for creating and posting it.

Great so far! I’m only a minute in lol. Question how did you get the shots of the burning prison, and burning cars with people surroundings, did you do all these shots with cgi, other peoples clips or what? I’m trying to make a short film but don’t have all the resources like this.
Hey thank you! And great question, for those shots I used a stock footage service called motion array and another called production crate.
@@StrongCore.Productions how much does it cost to make a good short film like this? Ya know with special effects and all that. Do you have any free or cheap software recommendations
@@katienicole990 Hey! So it is hard to count the cost really, but if I were to estimate, all things considered maybe around $2,000. Not including gear and props we already had before starting production. In terms of editing programs- I have always used Adobe creative suite, mainly Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition but Davinci Resolve might be a good cost-effective option for lower level compositing and linear editing.
