  • I worked in textiles with carding, spinning, and loom machines as a mechanic straight out of high school. My entire family were all textile workers; living the simple, yet, tight knit, loving family life in a small Alabama town. As a competitive power-lifter, bodybuilder and 2x cancer survivor, I had to have a plan B after the loss of textiles in America, especially the southeast. I went back to school, became a personal trainer, and have transitioned life by working in one of the most prestige medical universities in the world. One thing in life I do regret...not going into the military in order to gain the leadership skills I truly needed from superiors and mentors. Thank goodness for modern technology in today's world in order to be able to choose to do what most will not...study, watch, and listen to guys, leaders such as Mr. Willink and his team! Thank you! #getafterit

    • @Oz I had Thyroid in 2009 and Colon in 2012. I had signs of Colon since I was 22 years old. It was pushed off to be from working out. But, I should have pushed harder when it came to more testing. It's becoming evident that just because someone is young doesn't mean colon cancer or polyps cannot turn into cancer later own. I tell everyone I know to push for extra testing if there are any signs of something abnormal going on.

  • That point he made about grinding hard for 3 days, for maybe 12-16 hours each day, really makes sense. I've had tons of small to-do items that I could easily get done if I just dedicated that kind of time. It's small stuff that I've been procrastinating on: scheduling my next dentist visit, doing my taxes, consolidating a few old retirement accounts, catching up on some administrative backlog at work. When we fragment our attention and procrastinate with things like KZhead and Reddit, we're doomed to drag these tasks out as long as possible. Taking 3 dedicated days to grind it out seems well worth it.
