      @juanvillalba539@juanvillalba5392 жыл бұрын
    • That's incredible. In FIDE most GMs are 2500+. Of course LiChess uses provisional Glicko ratings, so it isn't directly comparable, but 2866 is extremely good in any case! Some people who have looked at the data have approximated that LiChess ratings are about 125 points higher than the equivalent FIDE rating, so it looks like Eric Rosen could certainly be a Grandmaster. I wonder if he'll do the norms sometime? I bet he's probably answered this already and I'm just not involved enough in his community to know.

      @ReasonMakes@ReasonMakes Жыл бұрын
    • @@ReasonMakes The answer is that he just doesn’t really care as much as he used to about getting to his absolute peak rating and becoming a GM. He’d rather focus on other things like photography, content creation, exploring the world, etc. I personally believe (and so do many others including Hikaru), that Eric if he put his full effort into it, could be a GM. Maybe someday he will be but it isn’t a focus of his rn

  • Eric you played phenomenal! I noticed you played more moves that slowly improved your position more than I've seen you do before. Think playing classical again has helped?

  • I like to think Eric brings a bottle of hand sanitizer to OTB tournaments just in case he gets a filthy stalemate. Then when it happens he smugly pulls it out of his pocket and cleans his hands before shaking.

  • 14:57 can someone explain the idea of a6 to me? I don’t know queen’s gambit theory and I don’t know why it would be played over c6 to go into a semislav, as both defend nb5 and c6 just seems more principled, developing the center and reinforcing the d pawn.

  • Could someone please explain the scoring system? 0-loss 1-draw/stalemate extra point for berserk 3's + 5's wins are 2 + 4 why?
