Step inside the Machine Shop at Oracle Red Bull Racing to find out what it takes to get parts designed, manufactured and onto the RB19 at the Race Track. This operation runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week and without these men and women, there would be no F1 car on the track.
Special thanks to our partners at Siemens and DMG Mori.

It still baffles me how much work it is to create an F1 rocketship. More off this please 👌🏼
Let's keep pushing no resting in the summer break
@@emerald39 that's against the regulations... No wind tunnel testing, no manufacturing of parts, no r&d ect... All hands off deck till the time period has elapsed... Only non essential maintenance of the actual factory infrastructure can be done.. Electrical, plumbing, electronics ect.. Absolutely no work on parts, the cars, aero ect..
@3ne2nr4life why are you talking to him like he’s part of the works crew or something 😂
It’s not rocket science after all but it’s still a heck of a job with advanced technology and techniques.
Ferrari taking notes right now
In crayon
Redbull can only explain to them and can’t understand it for them. Even if adrian newey designed their car to perfection they will still find a way to screw it up. If i were to enter a f1 race this year with a literal horse cart you bet I’d likely finish ahead of them
Even Mercedes
And thinking about how to still f*ck up
@@aliston5028merecdes have already released this type of videos. Rb is just copying them
Those who appreciate such videos giving a peek at the level of sophistication in F1 will never whine about boredom due to someone's dominance
true
fact
Other teams must improve. Simple
facts!!
As an Aston Martin fan I completely agree
It must make the workers so proud to see their car win. Knowing exactly what part in it was crafted by them.
It surely does. Every time I see one of a few motorcycle jackets I designed in use it gives me joy, and I imagine that feeling is ten fold when you see the car you built win a WDC
Happy RB is doing this. Not many F1 teams have this behind the scenes in what happens at the factory.
This was amazing to watch, as an engineer one can only dream of being there
well.... apply for a job?
@mavadelo might as well tell him to apply at nasa while he’s at it
@@jerryspringer5656, why not, I don't know were he's from or work experience but they're crying out for people in the new powertrains facility.
@@jerryspringer5656 It is how Hannah Smith got her job at Red Bull... she applied for a job. Red Bull is working on their own powertrain, one would think Engineers are in high demand. Besides that, the turn over at other teams seems rather high. If he has the diplomas, why not try.If you don't try, the answer is always no.
The whole sector is screeming out for skilled engineers. 👀
This is why I'm a RBR fan and not a Max or Checo fan, it's a genuine team sport where everyone makes it a P1 or DNF on track...
bro what???????
But every team has factories where a few hundred of people dedicate their time perfecting their car. So maybe stop being a neanderthal and just be a fan of the whole sport.
Maybe after 50 yrs the cars will be driven by AI drivers. For now the cars need humans right?
@@sharmi9891no they won’t be driven by AI
When I started watching F1, I was a Mark Webber fan, but became a Red Bull Racing fan. I love the team, no matter who is driving, but, it's great to have the best.
I’m a mechanical engineer in the US aerospace industry. I’m a recognized NX CAD expert. I love these behind the scenes looks into the Red Bull Racing team. I love seeing parts get made by passionate people. Congratulations to the entire RBR Team for an amazing season.
As an engineer you can't help but appreciate these kind of vids
I'm trying to learn NX CAM at work but I find it so overcomplicated! Any suggestions on where to start? Not in RB for sure 😅
this is whats considerd precision engineering right? Im going to study it soon, signed up for the school :)
would you be so kind as to share yor linked in profile. i am keen to networking.
@@magical5181 It's precise for sure, though not precision engineering. Look into watchmaking, space, optics manufacturing, there is a lot of precision engineering to be found.
I wonder if all f1 teams have all these special tools and equipment. It's very impressive.
All big teams have this for sure
there's haas f1 team and then there's haas automation that manufactures their own CNC mills, maybe haas f1 uses them
@@yaej As a machinist myself, knowing the tolerances these parts are likely built to I can almost guarantee that they would be using machinery more in line with the DMGs seen in this video for most of their work. Haas machinery serves a purpose and 4 decimal place precision isn't that purpose.
@@mako4874 factually TRUE. eBay and Craigslist for some of the harder to find parts.
Williams doesn't, that't what James was complaining earlier saying many things he's used to back at Merc just doesnt exist for Williams
This is crazy. And then to think RBPT is going to be up and running soon as well. Hats off to everyone involved!
I think power train sector is up and running already. Few weeks ago my friends father-in-law was there for AVL commissioning of the single piston engine test bed :)
More content like this please! 🙏
As a veteran CNC Programmer and Machinst, I think working in the Red Bull shop would be a dream job! I was a Haas Automation supervisor for 17 years...so I'm probably about as jealous as K-Mag watching Max go by right now. Well done
@rakhaarkananta5777 If you're an aerospace machinist, you'll make a lot, with experience and an A stamp you're talking over 40k GBP per year after taxes and that was mostly manual machining.
@rakhaarkananta5777 from my impression, generally, you would not be paid as much as a (design) engineer, but its still above average i'd say and for you a lot of money. The harder part is getting into the country
Great to see more teammembers from the factory 👍 Incredible work by all RBR
PLEASE do more shop tour and machining content! This is so amazing to see the work done at these levels and the machines and professionals that do it.
To actually see these parts come to life from just a billet of raw material is amazing & the finish is outstanding!!
Damn, what a nonstop work these people have. Nowadays they are having happy times because of the results, but I just imagine other teams doing all this work with night shifts even, and being last on the grid.
Yes more of this type of videos please. Love the behind the scene info.
This was amazing. If it's possible I'd looove more videos like this. Even do 'historical' RB factory production, etc. 🏁
Damn, but i enjoyed watching this video. As a toolmaker and CNC machinist of old, (so many years retired that when i stopped working machine shops were just moving away from punch tapes) it always blows me away to see how advanced machining has come. More like this please.
Nice to see the heroes, of the team we love, behind the scenes making the greatest car in F1 history! Great to see and keep up the amazing work!
I wouldn't mind displaying some of those parts in my living room.
This is beautiful , gives a totally different perspective of the world of racing (at the highest level ) The beauty of what lays behind the curtain, the master minds behind the machinery , I've always find it impressive the transition from creating/ having an idea to materializing it . Just awesome !
The whole logistics and supply chain must be a bloody headache. Totally understand now why Christian uses Toto as a stress ball.
lmfao😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂🤛
wheezing lmfao
😂😂😂Awesome comment! Top stuff bro!
Very impressive, shows hard work will always get you to the top.
The editing on this video is masterclass level. F1 is amazing for many reasons, particularly the precise engineering and the amount of team work that goes in to building these cars.
It's excellent that you have produced a video like this with a decent amount of insight into your machine shop. It's not often the general public get to see what it takes to make components.
Great to see machining and it’s people being celebrated. Well done Oracle Red Bull Racing 👏👏👏
Shout out to the video team. Siiiiick visuals.
This was such a cool insight. Amazing machines and amazing people working them.
I'd love to see more stuff like this. Although I understand that much of what these guys are doing is very closely guarded. The often-unsung heroes that keep the team at the forefront. Well done, guys and gals!
This is very impressive. Fantastic how clean and tidy RB works. Even nicer for them to really see immediate results from their work that also collectively makes a great F1 car. Love videos like this.
Great Video RedBull!!!! We need more informative info like this about the cars. No BS, just dedicated info like this one!!!! Well Done!!!!
Yes, this is an incredible video: loved to see more behind the scenes videos in the future!
Total commitment!! Best machines DMG Mori with top specs (a lot of linear, Heideinhein controls, HSK 63 cone, Shrink fit tool holders and probably hi rpm spindle options ), superb workholding (I really love dovetail workholding and Lang technik) and one of the best CAD/CAM softwares, wisht to work with that equipment!!!
Working at DMG MORI it makes me very proud to see our machines producing parts for these racecars. Knowing what it takes to build such a machine & invent such parts for F1 cars is just really really impressive.
Thank you for this glimpse into the production process.
This is why I love F1 ! The amazing engineering behind the cars is like nothing else!
Please can we have more of these videos! Excellent production of an amazing team.
It was amazing to see titanium processing. At the same time, I felt once again that F1 is a team sport. I hope everyone involved will rest well during the summer break.
This is incredible, what a team!
So cool to see that how the women explained many things and even performed how it's done. This is why instead of just being a fan of one driver, I decided to be a fan of RBR as well! Keep more of this coming. We absolutely love it.
Giving tips to other teams “ maybe next time you won’t be lapped” That is very sweet of you, red bull
I appreciate you guys shedding light on what it takes to manufacture these parts. Most only understand the design and the final product.
Very impressive, we need to see this part of the sport often it's really eye-opening.
I love being a machinist, it's so fulfilling to make all the individual parts that makes up the machine. It's a lot of hard work behind the scenes.
Such awesome work 👌🏼
That is why I love F1, the engineering behind the cars is amazing
The level of dedication and passion in these people is really something special! Whish I could work in such a unique place
Being a machinist myself, it's always amazing seeing how those pieces are being machined.
Even seeing that little piece takes 6 hours to make. F1 is really next level engineering
Loving these videos!
Precision engineering! I love it!
Brilliant explanation and video that leaves everyone in awe
RedBull’s organization is really interesting to see. You can see how they run and operate: the part goes from the design folks, to the CAD folks to the CAM folks to the CNC folks. Everyone’s job is simple and streamlined. They even dedicated resources to tooling when they learned the machinists were spending their time making tools and not machining. The reason why they’re dominating isn’t because of one single good person like Horner, Verstappen and Newey. It’s every one doing their job.
Thank you for sharing this its actually really interesting to see the equipments and all
Excellent video! Amazing to see the processes and operations!
MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS, PLEASE!
Thank you Redbull for allowing your reserve driver & 2012 F1 car to compete in a drag race against the Rimac Nevera & the McMurtry Spéirling on Matt Watsons Carwow! Peace & Love!!!
What an amazing team
DMU Mori. Nice machines. I work for Kennametal, you guys probably use our tooling
These types of videos are so impressive
Thanks, I can finally build an F1 car at home now!
it just amazies me all the technology to build a racecar..its called A TEAM Redbull is the Best Right Now
Thanks for the video! Congratulations on winning 2023! Need to make more videos like this so we have something to watch during the off season!
This is the real RBR gear. Perfection begins with the cleanliness and order of the facilities to produce a product with the highest excellence. Congratulations to all the professionals who are so involved in cncs and their programmers. I love DMG MORI 😍
The video I've been waiting for from RedBull
Must be so cool working with all the materials
What an amazing video, it takes so much to put a F1 car together and we actually never get to see that :)
SOO impressive! Thanks for sharing this tiny piece of background info
I missed these type of videos!
Red Bull is so far ahead this season they put out this video so the other teams can catch up.
Not like they showed anything here

redbull is so ahead of the other teams that they can show the others how their car is made and still win the championship😮
The video is great for team moral and spirit ✌️🙏there getting recognition even more other teams need to do this more 🙏✌️
This video was Fantastic !
Machine shop is insane
Thank you! nice to watch
F1 = NASA of Motorsport. Love it!
Those are the real Heros!
It's so great a video like this from Redbull for once. Usually it's just people playing games and rubber duckies and piñata's and nothing related to the car or the work being done back at the factory.
This is like earlier RB content.. i watched the One screw nut life.. and now this.. thanks RBR
Great insight, thank you
I used to work at a small bearing manufacturer and we used PEEK to line our large sleeve bearings (for industrial use). These were for shafts sized 3-7/16” up to 7” in diameter.
This is why!!! I Love You guys so so much!!!
Checo keeping them busy 🙂
Working in aerospace in the US, at a company that also uses both Siemens NX and CNC controllers I can definitely appreciate a peek into RB's machine shop.
When you guys were fighting merc in 21’ this place is were my mind went. The insane amount of work put forward by the best of the best. Competing with the best. Just that thought made that season even more magical & unforgettable. These days not so much I’m a Ferrari fan. 😅
Beautiful shop 😍
Great behind the scenes heroes 👏👏
