The Nintendo Switch 2 got a lot of updates in late April and one of them might bring some hope to the launch of the new Nintendo system this holiday.

Is there hope for a Nintendo Switch 2 Release in 2024?
I doubt it. Nintendo is skipping Gamescom this year. This means no switch 2 this year.
Definitely March 2025 at the earliest. Besides 2024 should be the year to give the OG Switch a proper send off before going to the next console
I don't even want to entertain the idea knowing I will be disappointed lol
They said it was delayed to 2025 so i still think it will come out next year probably in march.
Bs it will come out before Christmas obviously @shanestevick679
I believe there will be at least an annoucement this year for the upcoming system .
Agree
There has to be
I could see a switch 2 reveal or announcement sure. But I doubt the switch 2 is launching this year.
That is very probable. Even if the console releases in 2026 or 2027, I would still be okay with it. There are so many great Switch games that I still haven’t played and I’m very busy, so I can definitely get 2-3 more years out of it before the Switch 2 releases.
God I hope so... It's painful to watch as fewer & fewer games get Switch versions, and the ones that do all run horribly despite all the visual sacrifices. Even Nintendo's own games are now being capped at 30 fps... for games like Princess Peach or a "remake" of a 20 year old Paper Mario that ran at 60 on GC hardware.
I want it to release this year but I still think it’s 2025
8 years is a ridiculous strecth, the n64 GOAT of all nintendo consoles only lasted 5 years. I have like 30 switch + games i cant play because of the dog crap hardware the switch is. It should release this year by the very latest!
Me too there is still one more semester left to clear before I could purchase my switch 2
@@supremepc6298It's not strange at all. The GB lasted 9 years. Or the DS lasted 7 years. The N64 lasted 5 years because it was not a success.
It will be this year. Believe me.
@@guillermopaolini9895 The GameBoy wasnt a main console though , it was a portable Nintendo console. The Nintendo Switch is a main console (but also a portable console) , so it shouldn't exceed 7 years
I jist hope it will be as powerful as they say. I love the switch and in not someone who care about 4k or super high-end graphics, but so many games on the switch can look so much better if it can at least run at 60 instead of 30 or lower
Give me 60fps and an SSD and I'm happy with the upgrade, regardless of resolution or anything.
disappointed at the use of ai for the thumbnail
Manufacturing is still scheduled for this year but I think the actual launch is still targeting March of 2025 due to the first party titles needing more development time. Will be interesting to see if Nintendo finally acknowledges the Switch successor and release timeliness at the Investor meeting next week.
Nintendo has had YEARS to make their launch games. Unless it's 3rd party launch games, I call bs on needing more time for launch games. The new 3D Mario has been in the works SINCE Odyssey finished lol. And no system launches with like a dozen must have games. A system launch with say 6 games is all you need. 3 first party games, and 2-3 third party games is all you would need.
@@ItApproaches You are right, the only valid reason for a delay it would be not enough stock for the holiday season
@@ItApproachesso it could still come out this year ?
@@NickMario1 Not impossible.
@@ItApproachesThey also want to avoid stock shortages of the system too so releasing it a little bit after the holiday is not a bad idea.
Doesnt matter if it gets released 2024 or 2025, youre getting it at 2026 with all the scalpers trying to flip the console
Was looking for this comment
make it ,2027 lol
@@sarap-tito8056 lol
I wonder if Prime 4 will be a launch title for it, and we get the full Prime Trilogy HD Remastered for it.
Prime 2 and 3 and 4 on Switch 1.
let's be clear. The Switch 2 is not in production yet because... A: It would get photo leaked. B: Nintendo know this and will announce it and show it as it is about to go into production. You really think Nintendo are going to let some random factory worker reveal this to the world first? No. Just no. We get the reveal from Nintendo and then it goes into production. Not the other way around.
Exactly
No guarantees that it would get photo leaked if it were in production.
@@logicalfundy there is when a factory workers monthly wage is $300 and you could sell a picture for several thousand $
Switch 2 will launch with Mariokart 8 Super Booster Deluxe & Splatoon 4 in Q3 2024 🤣 H1 2025 will be the new 3D Mario game...
why would it launch with splatoon?
They wont release the their next console without a new zelda or mario game etc.
See that empty space on the top of the OLED model for switch 2 this will be the game card slot and also have existing game card slot for old switch version games.
I hope note, I still haven't gotten a new job
then get one
@@SmallHappyOtter You think I haven't been trying einstein?
@@AngelPerez-tu1nk try harder
Next year for sure!
I know the switch 2 will be glorious I can't wait I will pre-order 10 of them
That's 3 sentences, not one. And why 10?
On to that im worried about scalpers 😢
@@SalvableRuinI know the Switch 2 will be glorious; I can’t wait, and I will preorder ten of them.
I want 50 Super Nintendo Switches😊
I can’t wait good thing I can pre order in store and work over nights hahaha this is gonna be a blessing to go slap money down on it😊
I believe it when I see it but so far everything sounds solid especially the backwards compatibility
I think its crazy that consoles in production arent leaked more often (either in description of what it looks like or an actual photo). because there are non-nintendo employee people assembling or monitoring the assembly of these consoles and not ONE of them leaks it (obviously if they are caught they lose their job but still -3- )
It's likely because the companies (and the employees that work for them) that manufacture parts for the new system were required to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDA) with Nintendo. Basically, if you break an NDA, you can be sued for breach of contract, which means that there are potentially far more severe punishments than just losing your job.
There is a rumour about Nintendo "cleaning" factories from non base workers, dont forget last year the Switch ToTK edition leaked and even the Xbox Series X, PS5 and the Switch Lite leaked
I’m fine. My backlog for the OG Switch will keep me busy until at least 2029!
Let's hope they don't botch the name like they did with the WiiU
aw man.. i was hoping that Nintendo'll keep going with the Switch as a hand held and release a powerful home console.
I really really hope it releases for the holiday season of this year.
Still holding on my switch v1
If they just recently started signing supply contracts no new console will be finished in the next few months. Assembling all assembly line and logistic routes takes time. They would never get enough systems out by the end of the yeat for a 2024 release.
I wonder what the purpose of previous Switch systems will be in the eyes of Nintendo once the successor is announced, I highly doubt they will just stop making games for those, which is why I don't expect many exclusives for Switch 2. I'm not sure if they'll have two different cartridges for new releases or just one cart that upgrades in Switch 2, so many questions.
I want them to push it back and upgrade the internals to future proof if.
I hope it's as good as rog ally in specs
Hopefully so we actually have something to talk about
im honestly really curious to see what launch titles the switch 2 will have... i guess pokemon z-a is a pretty safe bet, i would also love a mario kart 9.. but what about metroid prime 4? a 2d zelda? a new 3d mario game?
Honestly my guess is a Reveal before Christmas so people can pre order but an actual release next year in Feb/March
it would be fine if it would release next year but I want Nintendo to finally say something about it
i think we hear something about it this year, possibly in June or July, and may actually come out following the reveal in the fall, possibly winter which could be November or December. Now don't take my word as fact, im just making a guess and looking at the year were in. so im just saying, it's a possibility not a guarantee. however when you look at this year as a whole, there aren't a whole lot of big games coming out. compared to last year 2023, there was big game, after big game every step of the way. but this year so far, only a few have been big releases, and i don't expect that to change. in other words, this is the kind of year where everything is slow game year, it's usually when we get more of a focus on hardware. that's why im confident Sony will reveal or atleast talk about the PlayStation 5 Pro, well don't sleep on the possibility that Nintendo could surprise us all. in all the years, Nintendo has never released a console outside the year of it's reveal. so keep that in mind. now some argue, the Switch. the Nintendo Switch was talked about in 2015 at that time, not revealed. once we knew at exactly what the Switch was gonna be, the Switched released in the same year of it's reveal, Nintendo revealed it sometime in January or February, a few months later it was out.
As long as the system is ready then I am all for a 2024 release with the next Mario Kart game with it. I can wait for 2025 if its not up to snuff by the end of 2024. x
Hopefully I’ve been a good boy this half of the year so I already said it would be cool to get the switch 2 for Christmas as a hint to my wife 😆
I really hope the name for the next device is Super Nintendo Switch
"I will believe it only when Nintendo confirms it themselves."
Only thing keeping investors happy is that the switch is still selling well. Despite it being 7 years old and has the same price tag it did at launch. They still have a price drop card in their hands that will push the remaining units while the new switch gets manufactured
it’s not selling very well. it’s selling ok. but nowhere near where it used to be. it’s not sustainable and investors won’t be pleased
It would make sense to lower the price now to get more sales out the door before the official announcement of the switch 2. They're probably wanting to surpass the PS2 all time sales.
@@SmallHappyOtter I'd argue that it's selling better than okay because they haven't done the price drop
@@Epic_C from a business standpoint records don’t really matter. they’re just a symptom of success.
@@israelruiz8706 that’s assuming they will drop the price. which they won’t.
i still think they should call it the Super Nintendo Switch instead of switch 2, it would be a nice callback to their first sequel console, the super nintendo (super famicom) and it would better indicate what this new console is as it is backwards compatable with the original switch and it shares the same design characteristics as the previous switch, that being a docked console with detachable controllers
Oh I’m getting fed up of this
If it releases this year my wallet wouldn’t be able to handle it 😅 later is fine with me. I know it’s coming out eventually.
With Nintendo skipping Gamescom this year. I don't know if the switch 2 is launching this holiday season or not.
Definitely releasing spring 2025
Why 1080p in 8inch screen? Nintendo should have chosen 800 or 900p. Since most guy's will use it "as handheld" anyways, chosing 8-900p has much more sense for battery saving. Choosing visual over battery sounds moronic asking visual quality > fun.
I know the spam bots like to compliment you on your videos, but in a fake way. But I mean it! I always enjoy watching commonwealthrealm cuz I gotta know what Nintendo is up to. I had no idea about the restored hope for a 2024 release for the successor the Switch as it relates to parts and the supply chain. Would be really cool.
so no more than 60hz? thats disgusting!
60hz and 1080p is fine by me as long as they give us an SSD.
And an option to save battery on portable mode it can "SWITCH" to 30hz For longer battery life. Nice
Well , it is a cheap console, what do you expect?
My common sense says it will be 2025, but this is Nintendo so it must be opposite!
DLC, DLC, DLC
With how bleak switch games are I can’t imagine them going through the holiday into next year before releasing anything new , especially when the console is way over due for a refresh, it will probably be 2025 but man it’s going to be a major drought for Nintendo to go a whole year more without any major releases.
It will release late 2025 i heard from a friend in japan with Mario Kart 9
Wrong

I know I'm in the minority but I really hope it's just an upgraded Switch and not a whole new console
I hope they release it this year. If they keep the stock of Switch 2 they (supposedly) have already made for too long, the hardware will be released closer to being outdated if they wait for too long.
i just hope it wont be 2027

Nintendo sucks. Overpriced games, lackluster few years, still no virtual boy retro shop. Pirating has never felt better
it is already may and nothing indicates it will be a 2024 release..
