I read every Halo novel and became the Master Chief of loneliness | Unraveled

Halo Infinite is coming out... Halo Infinite is already here. On July 30, 2019, Brian David Gilbert set out to read every single Halo novel. He has finally unraveled all of them, but it's come at a price: No one wants to talk to him about Halo anymore.

    • @@mikecameron6667 I’m about to start a full fledged immature rant on why this statement is wrong, if you play the games, you realize master chief is a stoic, silent, respectful individual, the show brutally assassinated his character, the show turned him into a rebellious, talkative, shouty moron. But more on your statement, the reason we hate to see him without his helmet is because not only does it disrespect the character and everything he’s been for the past two decades, its also utterly useless and the “emotion” they try to portray is just him being whiny or angry, it’s not master chief. You don’t even need to read the novels to understand who he is, halo doesn’t always need to revolve around him, Halo 3 ODST displayed this perfectly, it made the player enjoy the fresh take on the halo universe and find interest in character not known in the games. The show could have gone with that route, but we got a politically correct, utterly garbage, non canon joke of a show. I’m never going to see it as Halo, it’s a fan fiction set in the halo universe the show writers want, not what’s established, I’m no longer giving paramount my money or attention, that’s one way to destroy my interest.

  • To add onto why the K-5 trilogy is so good; they're just fun reads. They detail some really cool concepts and sequences and all of the chatacters are actually quite well-done and distinct. Naomi, the Spartan, especially shines here; she's successfully depicted as deeply damaged and asocial owing to her upbringing while simultaneously forming very quick bonds with her military brethren, allowing for the relaxed interactions and occasional one-liners that made Spartans like Chief so personable in the first few Halo games. Basically she's not a shell, but rather a deeply damaged yet rounded out _person._
