As a locksmith in a large US city with 33 years of experience here's my opinion. THIS is NOT a "key" it is especially NOT a key that will "unlock ALL locks." It is basically a pick. It opened the CHEAP $10 lock because it's a 'cheap $10 lock." It will not open 99% of house locks or other locks that are made properly. This is clickbait.
Tens toda a razão, porque também é minha profissão.
1st one was a rake or jiggle key. 2nd is if ur broke n can't go get a copy key real quick lol
Thought he was making a bump key on # 1. It was until after 1st half of making it
It's a 'rake'. A specific type of 'pick'.

Nice video. Suggestion: Instead of a jigsaw blade, you can use a blade from a street/parking lot sweeper. It has the same tensile strength as a jigsaw blade and you don't have to cut it down.
pero es mas dificil conseguir la hoja de una barredora
Good tip!
Fantastic idea. Great job.
I was doing that exact same thing in the 60's and 70's, then I found feeler gauges worked good too. Those sweeper blades were everywhere back then, now here they use some sort of bristle.
@@MegaRmac Hacksaw blades are also a potential solution, yet elegantly simple and unique.

Love it man!!! Car dealerships want you to pay with blood for a replacement key even without the chip. Great solution.A lot of cars still have one door , usually drivers side door, that has a manual lock this method could save tons of stress and money. Wish me luck. Thank you for your efforts.

I don't think that picking works on many automobile doors any more. Locksmiths and tow truck operators use other methods for entry.
You are definitely delusional.

The key will not open EVERY lock. It will open the one lock it's made for. 😕

Some great Mcguiver stuff here though!
The first pick I think is called a "rake" Works on more than one lock but not all, so lock picking tool kits usually have several. Takes a certain method and practice skill to use, and some locks cannot be raked open. The "L" shaped tool is used to put a slight torque on the lock cylinder while picking to assist in holding up the lifted pins so they don't fall back (they're under spring pressure ) and/or to just help completely turn the cylinder. Lock picking takes skill, finger sensitivity, and practice.
thank you. i went to the comments just to look for this
A Dremel diamond disc is faster than a file. I'd finish up with another Dremel item; a small grinder cylinder, diamond dust if possible. The key copy ; You could do better though. Press in mirror box on both sides, but with Dynacast on the inside in 5mm sheets inside a 10mm gap , and bake it hard maybe or use as is. Now you coat that and fill with the mix you made there, so there's a perfect 2 sided copy. The dynacast wont stick to itself if coated with oil first. I'm a fan of Avocado oil. It's high temp stuff.
Total waste of time and money. Just file a blank to match the original - the blanks are easy enough to obtain.
What's Dynacast in this context? When I looked it up, all I found was golf clubs.

Creation Holic Demasiados pasos para hacer las 2 tipos de cosas. ¿No se puede simplificar usando / haciendo menos?
I will research and send it to you when there is a good solution
You can - you have to buy a new padlock with a key.
LOL I used a paper clip to make the rake. But nice video if you have time on hand.

cyanoacrylate adhesive glue
Esse truque é velho e vc só vez uma cópia de chave da maneira mais difícil.
1 - Homemade lock-pick set, nice! 2 - Homemade duplicate key, a lot of time and effort. Why not have one made at a key shop or hardware store?
Or buy a blank on-line and file the blank to match the original.
Thank you! Cheers!
The first is not a key. It a saw rake and a tension wrench. FYI
I know! I thought "what the heck?" lol Easier (much easier) to just make a bump key and that's actually a REAL KEY!
Yes, a rather poorly made rake. Rakes and bump keys are used by locksmiths only for insecure locks. If those don't work in a minute or two, they pull out a proper lock pick set. @@MrPocketfullOfSteel

I love the idea of using hot glue, foil tape, WD-40, graphite, baking soda, and super glue to make a key! Using a key that you already have.....wait what?
@@DarthB Probably save some money too. On hot glue, foil tape, WD-40, graphite, baking soda, and super glue.
As is usual for videos like this, they are a bunch of nonsense, or do something simple the hard way. The first pick was just a poorly constructed rake, which was used improperly by the maker. Such a device will NOT open most pin tumbler locks - much less other lock varieties. A locksmith might take a swipe or two with a rake as a first attempt in case the pinning is poor. If that doesn't work within less than a minute, then he/she will pull out proper picks. Interestingly enough, the rake is useless against two of the most simple lock mechanisms, the warded lock and the lever lock. With the graphite/super glue nonsense: the molded key would be very fragile and would break in a stiff lock. He had, the key - just take it to a hardware store or locksmith and get a key cut for a couple of dollars. Or buy a blank from an online source for about a dollar and file the blank to match the original.
Ok, the consensus finds it useless, but imagine: If your key broke in half and the store is closed or you are unable to get there this method with simple basic materials...Keep up the good work!!!😂
There are keys that you cant make copies of. Post office PO BOX keys, Bank Security Boxes, Commercial buildings, etc. They all become a problem if i lose the key. Office building is inconvenient until you get maintenance to get you another one in a day or two, PO BOX it's a $65 dollar replacement fee, if not more, Security box is even worse it's days and over $300 as they have to drill out the lock.
Technically you don't actually need the key in your possession that entire time. You just need the key long enough to make the hot glue mold and then return it without anyone being the wiser. Then you can take your sweet time to replicate it using the method in the video. But a much faster and easier way to achieve the same goal is to simply cut a bar of soap in half and keep it ready with you. Now when you get a hold of the key, just press it really hard into the soap to get a mold (you can also use certain types of clay). This works much faster, especially since you don't need electricity, a hot glue gun or the WD-40....nor do you need to clean the WD-40 from the original key. And since soap/clay has a much higher melting point than hot glue, you can heat up some low-melting point metals like Field's Metal, Bismuth, Alum, Zinc, etc.. and pour it into the soap mold to get a much more durable key copy instead of the brittle superglue/baking soda/graphite mix.
DAAAAAAAMMNN IT BOY
Thank you for watching
